Do I need updating the Firmware If I'm MIUI official or custom ROM user?
No, MIUI ROMs contain the firmware-update package which I extract and provide here.
What are the supported devices?

SOT seems to be around 10 hours with 50% brightness, I spent the whole day watching YouTube, Netflix, used Facebook with a lot of videos, reading both on chrome and on Wps, WhatsApp & telegram and played with phone settings. Also halfway during the day, I updated my phone to V10.3.5.0.PCOMIXM from V10.3.2.0.PCOMIXM. I haven't played any games though, not a big fan of em lately
Screenshot are attached.

The firmware I provide isn't an alternative to the official rom. However, you can install China rom on your device if you have unlocked bootloader.

Need Help
Hi... I made a stupid mistake of flashing on Redmi Note 8 without noting down the firmware. Is there a way to find out he firmware please? Thanks

Baseband versions
A small table with corresponding baseband version number.
Code:
+-------------------+-------------------------+
| Firmware | Baseband (BAR_GEN_PACK) |
+-------------------+-------------------------+
| V11.0.8.0.PCOMIXM | 1.252721.1.260983.1 |
| V11.0.7.0.PCOMIXM | 1.246073.2.252721.1 |
| 20.1.16 (China) | 1.241207.1.242935.1 |
| V11.0.6.0.PCOMIXM | 1.239860.1.241207.1 |
| V11.0.3.0.PCOMIXM | 1.223797.1.225109.3 |
+-------------------+-------------------------+

Any issues with flashing China firmware on Global phone or vice versa? Any advantages/disadvantages either way? I'm assuming the hardware is the same for China or Global variants, just the rom is different?

It doesn't mess with recovery.
So is it worth to update this every week when a new version comes out? Or not really?
Also: Worth doing on AOSP roms? (xenonHD, RR, ...)

Firmware is like a computers BIOS. It can fix multiple issues but always bears the risk of a flashing error, which can have serious consequences. That being said, I've never experienced any trouble flashing firmware. It is independent from the OS afaik, so it should be suited for AOSP-ROMs as well.
I would advise to wait a few days/weeks before you update your firmware to see if the new firmware proves itself in production. Also - if there are - always check MD5s. Firmware update are serious business.
The firmware is independent from the Android build (Nougat vs. Oreo), right? So it is okay to flash a firmware extract from an Oreo-ROM while using a Nougat-based ROM on the device? Thanks

Don't take it as a promise, but yes, that should be possible.
It's probably the best if you backup your existing firmware partitions beforehand using the TWRP recovery from https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-mix-2/development/recovery-twrp-3-2-1-0-recovery-t3730030 to avoid any compatibility issues. Better safe than sorry.

Just used that and video/ audio is fine except for one bug where pausing, skipping or buffering causes the audio to make a cut sound and then gets randomly extremely loud.

Should the new firmware be visible in "About phone"?
Please bear with me, but I find the versioning of the developers numbers being lower than the stable ones somewhat confusing:
- if I want to flash an Oreo Rom, I guess I would have to flash a developer firmware with "f_8.0" at the end?
- after I flash it and reboot, shouldn't I see it in the "About phone" option (still with the standard Miui Rom)? That still says MIUI Global 9.2 / Stable 9.2.3.0, but I had chosen Global 8.3.1, before
- Is there a version for Oreo available under V9.0 for Mi Mix 2?

Have you tried Xiaomi.eu's ROM? I've been enjoying my Mi 8 so far with their MIUI10 ROM (China based yet works so well!)
The process is quite noob friendly too!
why are these firmwares provided?
When i update the official rom (via OTA or TWRP) or with XIAOMI.EU roms, the firmware isn't updated?
I'm new to Xiaomi devices, when i was on OnePlus i've never updated firmwares, only roms.

Until Qualcomm releases their kernel source code for Snap 845, along with Xiaomi following their lead for the Mi 8, there wouldn't be any (AOSP) development for it.
The only custom ROM Alternative now is Xiaomi.eu's MIUI10 Beta ROM. I'm running it right now & it's miles better an MIUI9, at least until AOSP comes out. You should try it

No problem, yes I think it is possible since there is no anti roll back for our device. But I am not quite sure about it.

>>>WIP Port of Emui 9.1 for P10 Lite <<<
Description
Code:
[CENTER]Is it possible to boot Emui 9 from Kirin 659 devices on P10 Lite with some bugs. Me with the help of my team did this but we are still working on the flashable zip... some bugs are squashed like audio, microphone, video recording and sim recognition. We hope to release this zip soon, for now we are providing you a guide for booting P smart's Emui 9.1 on this device without our fixes.[/CENTER]
Warning
Code:
[CENTER]For now there is a lot of risk by doing this, so read everything I write. I am not responsible in case you brick your device. DON' T try this to another hi6250 device like P8 Lite 2017 as it is not supported right now.[/CENTER]
Requirements
Code:
[CENTER]* Unlocked bootloader with TWRP
* Unlock code or nvme hack installed
* A bit of patient[/CENTER]
Bugs
Code:
[CENTER]* RIL
* Audio
* Frontal camera
* Video recording
* Microphone
* Proximity sensors
* A weird blue screen before getting in to system[/CENTER]
Guide
Here we go with the hard part !
First of all make a TWRP backup of every partitions, /data backup is optional but it is always recommended
*** How to install Emui 9 ***
Flash via TWRP FIG-LX1 oeminfo, make sure you download the correct version for your device(single/dual)
Extract FIG-LX1 firmware repair in a folder called "dload" in your sd card
Here is an example:
Code:
[CENTER]PATH: SdCard/dload
*** Inside the dload folder ***
../FIG-L11_hw_eu/
../FIG-L31_hw_eu/
../update_sd.zip
[/CENTER]
Then flash your firmware by pressing vol buttons and power button for 10s
Wait for installation and boot it
Right now you can enjoy Emui 9 !
*** How to go back Emui 8 ***
Flash P10 Lite Oeminfo
Flash a P10 Lite firmware using erecovery, dload or huru

If u see in my screenshots there is a detected sim card in fact they are from the build that we are working on !
Probaly the official Emui 9.1 will arrive here soon by Huawei, for now let's give some preview with these test stuff, also i ll make it for P8 lite 17 as it won't arrive there.
Ohhhh, its good to hear that. I wanted to change my android 7 rom to something new like 8. But all roms are one year old and have some bugs - like audio stops with locked screen, dont recognise simcard etc. Im waiting and God bless you people!!
Little problem, You putted Dual Sim OEMInfo into .rar, no .zip so there's no way to flash it.
Nice job, waiting stable build.
So, my P10 has booted with this one. I've instaled it just to check if I'll be able to boot Pie custom roms over it.
No, I didn't.
TWRP works great but after installing anything (dotOS by DarkJoker360 in my case) phone booted only to "Your device is unlocked" screen. Then it reboots. But I guess it's EMUI fault, when I'm using my WAS-LX1 firmware I have to use B370 because newer won't boot with magisk or custom roms.
Great idea anyway, I was wondering if it would work some time ago.

This work is indeed revolutionary .. keep up the good work guys .. one question though .. will the Mate 10 Lite get some of this love ? I mean it's a hi6250 device and it's not getting Pie .. i'm up if you need testers on the mate 10 lite ... Thanks and keep it up

i am also looking forward to EMUI 9.1 on p10 lite. currently running OmniROM from OpenKirin and it has been reliable minus trying to use poweramp/youtube and waze at the same time. and in tokyo's confusing streets, i need Waze.
Great job, but too much bugs, Iwait better rom...Thanks
an innocent ETA question might be fine, two innocent questions invalidates the first innocent one and makes it look ugly so ... was it too complicated?
in short...
ETA requests are never comfortable for any developer who`s working for free so please take this into consideration before airing them.
a post was deleted and another one edited so that we can have a friendly atmosphere
thanks for understanding!
So i successfully installed it .. camera doesn't work , speakers doesn't work , data wiped , bootloader locked (wut ?) .. so same as people reported already bugs are the same at least on the Mate 10 Lite .. but one question though .. why did the bootloader get locked again ? even on Fastboot it shows "Locked" in green and not "Relocked" .. anyway .. thanks again for your hard work guys and keep it up
Hello,
I also tried on matte 10 lite.
the only bug that I bypass is the sound. (copy audio in 8.0 of your original ODM / ECT / AUDIO and pasted in emui9.1 and the sound works).
* for the mobile data it says no service in reality it will seem that it just activates the data because in the settings all is ok apn, sim, no of the network he sees everything. (in emui8.0 you just had to copy NV.BIN, it is mnvm2: 0 / modem_nv / nv.bin and paste it).
But in emu9.1 seems to be deleted or hidden or otherwise.
* I do not have the knowledge to read this file.
I hope to find something else.
Wow, amazing work guys, I never even thought of this being possible. Keep up the great work!
It's been more than a month. Any progress? Because if we decide that the main goal of this thread, an EMUI9 port, a working one is not achieved, this thread can be considered an WIP and afaik these are against XDA rules. For all the moderators, don't delete my post. I believe i have justified my argument, and in now way, shape or form is a question about ETA.

I am providing just the fixes in a while.
I am busy with ohther warsaw's developements.
You sir may have made a mistake. Too many ROMs mean no time to work on all of them. So dial back and keep only one or two ROMs because there are simply not too many users who have an unlocked bootloader, and those who do either want EMUI 9 or a small variety of aftermarket ROMs like RR, Omni or Lineage.
Why do you feel entitled to tell the guy what to do? He's only doing this in his free time out of love for development and he expects nothing in return. You're in no place to make absurd demands on how he should manage his time, stick to your own lane.
Closed at OP request.

What is Xiaomi Firmware Updater?
A set of various scripts that automatically generates Xiaomi firmware flashable zip files for every MIUI new update! My scripts download MIUI official ROMs, both Developer and Stable, Global, EEA, India, and China, extract firmware either from the firmware-update folder or from update payload, generate firmware flashable zip with auto-written "updater-script", and uploads them automatically to multiple servers. These scripts are completely automated, running on a Linux server every X hours.
Notes:
Firmware filenames for this device are in the following manner:
fw_courbet_miui_COURBETGlobal_*.zip is Mi 11 Lite 4G (courbet) Global firmware.
fw_courbet_miui_COURBETEEAGlobal_*.zip is Mi 11 Lite 4G (courbet) EEA Global firmware.
fw_courbet_miui_COURBETINGlobal_*.zip is Mi 11 Lite 4G (courbet) India Global firmware.

Frequently Asked Questions:
What is firmware? Is it a full ROM or OTA package?
Firmware is not a ROM nor OTA Package, it's a set of low-level drivers which helps the operating system do whatever it wants to do. It includes various things like Modem, Bluetooth, Bootloader, DSP and etc.
Why should I update the Firmware?
Firmware is provided from Xiaomi directly, and there are no sources for it to let developers build and edit it on their own like custom ROMs, so if you want to keep your device up to date always update your firmware!
Do I need to update the Firmware If I'm an MIUI official or a custom ROM user?
No, MIUI ROMs contain the firmware-update package which I extract and provide here.
What are the supported devices?
All Snapdragon and MTK devices including China-only devices.
Check the full devices list here
How to update the firmware?
1- Download the package you want to flash. IT MUST BE NAMED WITH THE SAME CODENAME OF YOUR DEVICE.
2- Flash it using TWRP or any custom recovery. There's no need to wipe/format anything before or after the installation.
How to check the updated firmware?
Usually, the modem gets updated with newer firmware, you can check it in Settings > About > Baseband.

This depends on the custom ROM, if it uses pre-built vendor you will have to update vendor once the ROM fw+vendor requirement changes.

@yshalsager : thank you for your answer.
Did you produce that vendor image file for mi11lite4G (courbet) as a single file? If not how could we have access to that vendor partition? Do we have to extract it from stock ROM ourselves?
Thanks!

Unfortunately, Mi-vendor-updater project is no longer maintained (was maintained by another person), so you can use my Flashable Firmware Creator tool to extract fw+vendor on your own. I will try to revive vendor updater project soon.

Ok thank you!
One last question (probably too much unrelated, but I'll ask it anyway...):
In your opinion/experience would the lack of vendor image be the origin of product partition/mounting errors during TWRP operations/flashings or these TWRP product errors shown at TWRP are related to some other issues and not caused by that particular vendor image absence?
I'm currently on Latest @Golbinex crdroid ROM, and he mentioned the need for that vendor image/partition at its flashing instructions post.
Presently I'm facing issues with Google assistant not being triggered with the ok/hey Google voice command...
Cheers!

Because of my inexperience with vendor partition/flashing i'm not quite sure i understand what you mean, can you be more clear please?
i'm interested because following the instructions to install any of the custom ROM available, you are required to flash original firmware + vendor first.
i was on stock ROM and i was able to skip this step, but what if i want to try another custom ROM? do i need to flash fw + vendor first? and it's required some wipes or format some partitions after the fashing?

As you was on stock, you don't have to flash, and same goes for switching ROMs, which requires wiping just data+cache and flashing the new rom.

Still in testing.
YES, finally, thanks
But I don't know everything about Rom dev, will you continue to become OFFICIAL rom?
Yes its Recommanded to use LOS Recovery bc your rom may break if you you use TWRP based recovery for OTAs.
Thank you x10k, I hope testing is going well for beyond2lte, I can't wait Evolution X is my favorite custom ROM on the S10+. I will be spending today getting thunferdtormS 21st s10 kernel 4.14.264 aosp version to compile with magisk 24.3 inside. I've got the oneui4.1 version to compile on slackware-15.0 and run on S10+. MSG me if you need and help with testing and feedback. I'm currently sub contracting for Samsung in the uk. I've found on the S10+ that Roms relying on lineage recovery, have had loads of problems post install with them ending up unusable apart from lineage os. I've spent many weeks trying to identify the issues and solve them. Ive used works debug and it is impart down to the frp lock which will not stay off as it does when using twrp. And post lineage recovery use it takes 4 to 5 factory resets using a combination file made from latest firmware.

I also got the bootloop with the S10e (with Lineage recovery).
Worked fine in galaxy s10 - used TWRP.
Format data, disabler, flashed rom and formated data again and flashed to disable encr. Booted and tryed for a while - forced encr again and still worked for me. Had some small isues with high youvh sensitivity etc but didnt notice anything bigger.
Not a fan that gapps is included s you have to start degooglise firtst thing - either disable/remove and switch to microg and i have to fix so i get the signature spoofing alright for it before i can use it. Maybe later on. Either way nice initiative love evo!
sorry... but why is the A11 firmware in the link is firmware for raphael? is it meant to be like this??!
anyway, i flashed it (using TWRP) and it is amazing!!! love the evolver and it has so much that other ROMs do not have. Fingerprint is also a lot faster than any other ROM. thank you for developing!
edit: found a problem with rooting... usually, i just flash the magisk Apk in twrp and it is rooted. however, i tried that and renamed to zip and even used a different magisk version, but all of them got me stuck on the booting screen (e in the middle with words around it with no color, like just loading). i had to dirty flash every time to fix it.. not sure if it's just me...
device is beyond1lte
Hi any need on the s10+ beyond2lte I know you said its still testing, is there a time line. My anticipation is at 100% after seeing evo-6.4 in action. I've also got thunderstorms aosp kernel 4.14.264 with magisk 24.3 inside compiled but untested as I'm on ambasadi at the moment.
I got 3647 in 3dmark today which is higher than 97% of S10+ devices tested. I got 3556 3dmark with evolutionX-5.9.1 Android 11, ive found about 20% performance increase from A11 to A12 and cant wait to see how 6.4 compares. I spent hours adjusting the ts_schedutil of thunderstorm kernel up_rate_limit and down_rate_limit and disabling sched_energy_aware and tweaking build.prop to achieve 3dmark result of 3647 my highest ever. The changes would work on a standard schedutil governor and were "up_rate_limit 500" "down_rate_limit 4000 on big CPU's and 3000 on middle and small.

sorry... but why is the A11 firmware in the link is firmware for raphael? is it meant to be like this??!
anyway, i flashed it (using TWRP) and it is amazing!!! love the evolver and it has so much that other ROMs do not have.

I have this doubt too...which firmware have you used to flash the rom? It's seems to me weird to use a Xiaomi firmware for our galaxy

I just used the stock firmware (after flashing the stock ROM) to flash twrp and then the zip and it works fine.
I am curious why we are to use A11 firmware if this is built on Android 12?
I'm running AOSP extended and currently on Android 12. I'm experiencing high battery drain to the point where the phone just shuts off halfway through the day. looking for an alternative. I'd rather not downgrade though. Can I flash this on A12? Is this stable for everyday use?
Hello ı have seen some comments about bootlooping with s10e did anyone got it working?
