That's all I use it for. But there's other options such as hiding status bar icons and setting custom animation speeds. But the Immersive mode made it worth it for me. Especially being able to easily set it per app without have to type a million ADB commands.

Just gets rid of the icons. The bar remains unfortunately. No way to get true immersive mode I'm afraid.

Why don't you use free Quickstar, which is part of the Good Lock family of apps from Samsung to remove status bar icons?
It has tons of other features as well!

I did try it. But I didn't want to get rid of the status bar icons, I wanted to hide them. There's a difference.

I don't see why you can't. I was using Quick Settings for Immersive mode for a while, but I like SystemUI Tuner better.

YES! I simply use the notification pull down if I need to see anything else or double tap to the AOD.
Black is golden on an OLED!
If you're not using the Goodlock apks you're missing out on the true Note 10 plus experience.
Quickstar is one of the best... and it's very stable with very low resource usage.

I'm planning on moving from a Samsung Captivate to the One X whenever it decides to come out in the US, and the only thing I think I'll miss are Samsung's toggles in the notification shade (things like wifi, gps, blutooth, etc).
Is there a mod already available for HTC products/One X that can add this? I know there are some market solutions (a la Widgetsoid) but they, well, kinda suck. Would it even be possible to add this with Sense 4.0? Thanks!
I use SwitchPro. It lets you make a toggle widget and the ability to add it to the notification bar as well (dropdown)

Do either of those programs toggle settings by touching the icons in the notification shade? Or do they both just open a new window where I toggle the settings? Thanks so much!

For people, like myself, that aren't unlocked your ROM isn't useful - I prefer toggles to EQS personally, anyway
The stock Touchwiz Assist Light (flashlight) widget is huge and hideous. I'd like to use the stock flashlight app but is there a custom widget that someone has/can make that we can load? Modern, small, simple is what I'm looking for.

Its not included on stock roms, you need a custom rom with the 15 toggle quick panel. Like this from Josh beach, it can be found in the development thread.

Tesla LED in the play store has nice widgets... It's actually brighter than the stock app anyway. Check out the attached image of the Cyanogen one.

I think if you use this one you shouldn't keep it on for a long period. I'm pretty sure they lower the brightness on the stock so you don't burn out the LED.
You can also use LED Light, it's 1x1 and has a fast response.

very nice feature.
i hope the next nexus have something like this..to hide/unhide the nav bar anytime you want while onscreen.. the aokp using time out..can be frustrating at time..
In AOKP you can also have a quick toggle for that previously mentioned auto-hide Navbar feature - so you can turn the feature on before playing a game or whatever (and still have quick access to the navbar buttons): Screenshot.
You can also add an option to enable/disable the navbar from the Power Menu (just straight up disable it, without the autohide): Screenshot.
Though I do agree, having a button on the navbar to quickly minimize it (like the Huawei ascend) would be pretty awesome.

Downlaod the app mentioned above GMD Gesture. You have to set it up in settings where it hides the nav bar/status bar on screen unlock, and show nav/status bar on screen off. There seems to be an issue if you dont have the nav bar "showing" while the screen is off, when you get a call your screen will not turn on. It took me awhile to get it set up correctly. Now it works, but if I have my screen on doing anything on the phone and the nav bar is hidden if I get a call I still will not see who it is unless I push the button to turn my screen off the back on. One more thing if you dont use a live wallpaper when waking your screen up your background will be all black for a sec or two then your background comes up. Live wallpapers have no problem. Other than those issues it works fine. I have another gesture setup to manually hide/unhide the nav bar also, if I did want to use it. Oh yea, the nav bar and notification hide/unhide together fyi. Hope you're not to confused after reading that lol.

No confusion, and thanks for the reply, but this seems way too broken at the moment. If you have to do this many work-arounds and have this many issues you have to deal with, then the app should be free not $5.56.
I am interested in the single button on the navbar as well. Bump this hoping there is a dev that can mod something here. deodexed/stock.

PS: I know about Gravity Box but it doesn't work great. The Nav Bar turns black every time I exit an app.

yes, Gravity Box doesn't work great. Nav Bar always turn black. and Gravity Box doesn't allow to switch back and recent key. The only benefit is can make Nav Bar a little bit thin.

Hi, I to have had the same issues with gravity box transparent nav bar.
I have found however the the motoXposed app from play store works perfect, even when nav bar is 100 percent transparent.
It will also remove the carrier label. Hope this helps and remember to turn of nav bar transparency in gravity box or it won't work.

Are you using a custom photo? I was playing around and noticed that if you use your own photo as a wallpaper and have it zoomed all the way out, KitKat will not position the photo under the nav bar to maximize the displayed width of the photo.
If you zoom into the photo just a little bit when positioning it, you'll get transparent nav bars again.
EDIT: Nvm, sorry. Apparently, I can't read.
I bring you a small mod that will add the signal cluster to your extended status bar.
Backup in Twrp and/or backup the original systemui.apk
Flash in recovery
No need to wipe just reboot system.
