Is there a way to give root access to my 5t without unlocking the bootloader? I am hoping to use a utility like Disk Digger to recover some files, so obviously unlocking boot loader won't work for my needs.

Not sure exactly where to post this as your forums are very American Carrier focused so I just went with model number.
I am just entering the world of rooting Android phones etc. so forgive my noob-osity but am eager to learn after realising this carrier phone really isn't MY phone.
I am wanting to use Chainfire's CF-AutoRoot to get root access on my Australian Vodafone GT-N7105T device however his instructions make very clear that the device will be bricked if I do not unlock the bootloader. I cannot seem to find a method of unlocking the bootloader for this specific device. Can anyone help with this?
Also just in general, some Rooting methods I have read about don't seem to "require" unlocking the bootloader or maybe haven't mentioned that it is part of the process.
Is unlocking the bootloader something that needs to be done ALWAYS when you root? I thought that unlocking the bootloader was only required if you wanted to flash custom ROMs and that having a locked bootloader did not prevent some rooting methods? If that is the case then I'm confused as to why Chainfire's CF-AutoRoot needs an unlocked bootloader as it's purpose is to leave everything stock?

Now since our Lg g4 has been recently rooted how can we install twrp on the h815 without the bootloader being unlocked?
You can't flash TWRP without unlocked bootloader.

Pardon my ignorance of the platform, but can't root access be used somehow to unlock the bootloader? How is it locked?
On a related note, is there a simplified explanation somewhere of all the various layers of the Android experience? I have at least a basic understanding of the BIOS/EFI/LILO/GRUB/kernel/init boot process of a regular computer, but when I was first told about the steps required to install a custom ROM (e.g., HyperDriveOTA or CyanogenMod), it seemed confusing and much more complicated than the standard PC boot sequence. Bootloaders, recoveries, and launchers, oh my!

Need help unlocking my bootloader so that i can acquire root access. I have done & know extensively literally everything else possible with pc & android devices but i have yet to unlock a bootloader or flash roms...please help i dont wanna try it without having an expert guiding me thru it cuz im unsure if the method varies from device to device. I have honor 8 pro (DUK) which has locked bootloader and yes I know it is not possible (officially) to unlock it. I have read several threads which state that unlocking bootloader is not necessary to root your mobile. Ok that was interesting, so I have searched all alternative methods of rooting which does not require unlocking bootloader, but none of them helped.
Attempts I made:
1. Many guides show to root the device via twrp. Flashing twrp requires unlocking bootloader, so out of options.
2. Tried to flash the twrp image via adb command but i get the message 'Command not allowed'. The obvious reason could be the locked bootloader.
3 Tried with Kingoroot and King root, none of them helped.
4. Magisk is unable to flash the magisk.zip file (I don't know why) and hence unable to use magisk as well.
Any other methods to root my device. Please help me dear developers and members. I don't want any custom ROM, all I need is to root my device.

Following. After Huawei/Honor decided not to provide the bootloader unlocking. I do not think we can and now there is no development for this handset at all.
Yeah and its sad that we are stuck here.
As the title suggests I want to be able to root my phone but my bootloader says that I cannot unlock it when using service menu to check, my model is the H3113 Pioneer from Vodafone. I have tried looking through threads but can not find anything, when trying to get twrp to do a temp boot it comes up saying that the command is not allowed. I have all the necessary drivers and tools and I am familiar with rooting devices as I have done several in the past.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
