I have a Verizon Note 4, model N910V. I'm looking for a rom that has the WiFi Calling feature. My understanding is that only Samsung roms or roms that are closely related to them will have WiFi Calling. I've used Jasmine and Lineage roms, but they don't offer this feature. I'm almost willing to just install a stock firmware from Samsung, but isn't 6.0.1 MM the highest available for this phone?
Someone has to know by now how to get WiFi Calling capability on the Note 4 N910V.

Advanced/WiFi Calling Fix
This is how I got mine working; it's the same fix that @mharleston brought to light a while back.
Using any root explorer do the following:
-Go to /system/csc/ and find the sales_code.dat file
-Open with a text editor and change the VZW to TMB
-Save that file and reboot
-After the reboot go back to the same file and change it back to VZW and reboot again
Once it boots back up check in Settings and you should be able to access both the Advanced Calling and WiFi Calling

I recently purchased in Hong Kong a LG G3 of whom I am very satisfied.
I have already rooted it.
I have 3 questions:
1. how can I check which model do I own? (D850? D851? D855?)
2. I have rooted it, but what will happen when I do the next official OTA upgrade? Will I lose the rooting?
3. MISSING feature: the only feature I miss (from my previous device) is the possibility to record a phone call. Is there a possibility, via a kernel or a specific apk, to restore this capability? Or do I need to flash a custom ROM (I wish not) ?
Thank you
Saulo
I have one more question:
I am currently in China. I am sure that China Unicom is currently using TD LTE (borrowing the network from China Mobile), since the deployment of their own FD LTE will start, at least in my area, in January 2015. How can then my LG G3 show the 4G icon in the top bar?
Does LG G3 have TD LTE embedded in the Ericsson LTE modem?
By contrast, my Samsung Note 4 SM-910C (which has several FD LTE bands but NOT TD LTE) is showing H+ (WCDMA) in the top bar, under the same condition, same SIM card, etc.
Thanks
Saulo
Hi all
Who can help this man?
I also want to know how to check the proper model number (D850....)
Maybe.... Settings --> Phone Information --> Hardware Information --> First entry??
If you rooted your phone and you install an OTA Update, the root is gone. That was my experience. But I saw some tutorials where other people still have root access. Nevermind... you can root with easily after your OTA Update.

1- By adding your IMEI to the end of this link in your browser you can check your model: csmg.lgmobile(dot)com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=
2- AFAIK, for the OTA updates it's more convenient to flash a stock rom to unroot and then rooting again after OTA update
3- There may be some apps allowing this feature, however I don't use any
ACR works for call record in
IF you don't want to upgrade to 5.0 yet and prefer staying on 4.4, install xposed and G3 tweaksbox, it unlocks the built-in ability to record (and auto record) all calls.
Hi molius. Do you mean that with 5.0 we do have by default the phone call recording feature? And. By the way, do you know when version 5.0 can be installed? Will it be OTA ?

It's recommended not to update OTA if you are rooted, and want to stay rooted as it may cause instability. More information on that and how to update safely here http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/psa-stop-taking-ota-updates-update-t2909412
Hello everyone,
I received an hTC m8 (Harman Kardon edition) as a gift. When I received the device, it was factory locked through Sprint Mobile. After a lot of research on internet and on this forum, I have unlocked it to use GSM services in India, and its working fine now.
But now the problem is it does not have the Tethering option. I want to tether my M8's internet connection with other devices but it has no option to enable WiFi tethering or anything. I have also tried a few third party tethering app from play store like(FoxFi, Wifi Tether, etc..) but had no luck. They all failed to start the hotspot and establish a connection.
Screenshot: http://imgur.com/Tl3dxzD
Please help me, how can I enable the tethering or internet sharing option on my device.
Device Specs:
1: Model no: 831C
2: Rooted and Unlocked
3: Android Version - 4.4.2
4: S/w Version - 1.54.654.13
Please help me and let me know if more details are required about my device.

Agree that a custom ROM is likely the easiest way to enable tethering.
Be sure to use one that supports the Sprint version M8.
Also, your firmware needs to be updated before running current ROMs.

Post #2 above already suggested a couple ROMs.
Any ROM that supports the Sprint M8 should have tethering working. I'm not a fan of recommended certain ROMs. I'm not even a Sprint owner for one thing. But more importantly, ROM choice is a matter of personal choice. Its like asking me to pick a favorite color for you.

Thanks for the support redpoint73.
One more question is that you suggested me to flash a "custom ROM that supports the Sprint version M8", though I have an unlocked device, also sprint services are no longer being used as I am using services of Idea telecom in India and I suppose it can support global carriers now.. so is it mandatory to pick the Sprint version only or should I choose a global version.?
I have also read somewhere that sprint charges extra bucks to use its mobile data for tethering services, may be installing a sprint version ROM restricts that tethering option to appear (Just assuming, don't know much about these stuffs).

A custom ROM that supports the Sprint M8 is not the same as a Sprint ROM (such as stock Sprint) or using the phone on the Sprint network.
Its absolutely important to pick a ROM that supports the Sprint M8 (or flash the kernel to get another ROM to work - more on that in the next paragraph). Whether or not the device was SIM unlocked, or even changing the ROM does not change the fact you have a "Sprint M8". There are significant differences between the Sprint and other M8 versions (and being SIM unlocked or flashing a ROM won't change it - actually nothing will) in that the partitioning and radios are different. In this way, your phone will always be a "Sprint version" M8. The difference is important to understand, not just for flashing ROMs; but if you decide to s-off the phone and flash another versions RUU or firmware, it won't work, and you may even brick the phone. So don't do it!!!
If you flash a ROM that doesn't specifically support the Sprint version, it won't boot. You may be able to get those ROMs to work by flashing the proper kernel, but you can probably find more discussion about that in the "Sprint" specific M8 forums, from other Sprint version users, etc.
Custom ROMs will almost always have tethering enabled. Even if it started as a Sprint-based ROM, the dev will most likely have removed the tethering restrictions. That's one of the things that makes these ROMs so great!

OP already stated he tried that, and it didn't work.
Your intent to help is appreciated. But please read the posts carefully, before posting a response what is not relevant.
Ok guys I did my homework I read 90% of the threads and have searched high and low so now I have to ask. Has anyone successfully gotten Advanced calling to work with the new marshmallow update with your unlock Bootloader? I know that most don't use it but me and my family do video calling is a must and I like the smoothness of Verizon's Advanced Calling plus internet while on the phone is a big bonus. If anyone is able to help me out here I'd be very greatful. I have 3 note 4's 2 on 6.0.1 and the other still on 5.1.1. The phone on 5.1.1 has the advanced calling already active I was just hoping to have it on marshmallow without having to run full-blown stock and locked bootloader. Thanks for any and all help.

You may need to activate it on your account. I think you can do that on verizonwireless.com
I deactivated and waited 24 hours and reactivated with it still not activating on the phones. I had the same issue on my lg v10 I had to go back to stock then flash the update root file over it for it to stay activated. But I don't know if I can do that With the note 4. Not sure if I can odin the verizon MM update and then do the bootloader unlock.

I flashed jasmine 6.0 or should I say restored jasmine then I set up my phone once all completed and make sure to have Advanced calling already active then dirty flash PaulPizz overtop of jasmine and your good to go. So far I've had no repercussions and I've been running it for about 3 days..

I have an old T-Mo S4 on 4.something and would like to play with some custom ROMs. I see that there are several ROMs but am not sure which one to start on.
What's the cleanest, most compatible, stock-like ROM for the S4? Preferably Android 7.x or newer.
Additionally, is there a simple way of reverting back to an official T-Mobile ROM?
I went with lineage, used it for a couple of phones. It's currently in active development, root is optional so I think safetynet is not an issue. I think a couple of other ROMs are based on lineage, so I just stick with them.
As for reverting back I don't know. I had to download stock for an old phone and flash back, this time I tried backing up stock, but didn't back up stock recovery, didn't think of it and not sure if I can. I don't know if my backup of stock will work if I try to flash back. Still pretty new to all of this, or maybe not new so much as I'm not a developer and I'm trying to follow as best I can.

I flashed AlaskaLinuxUser's [ROM][7.1.1] SlimRoms N [jfltetmo] build on my bone-stock SGH-M919 a week ago. It's my daily driver, so I'm glad the 7.1.1 Slimroms ROM has proven to be lean and stable.
It carries the same SGH-M919 model number so IR blaster apps are available.
It is not rooted, so corporate sector apps don't have a cow over security.
It is easily rooted using the recover-flashable SuperSU zip, and easily unrooted inside the SuperSU app.
Portable Hotspot works well, although only in the 2.4GHz band.
Media players are absent (slim indeed), so I had to download AOSP Music+ etc.
Wi-Fi Calling does not work :crying: due to not having T-Mo's proprietary app.
TWRP can backup and restore the whole phone using an SD card. You'll need around 7GB free on the card.

Have you attempted to manually get Wi-Fi Calling working? There are plenty of stock devices - the Moto G6 for example - where Wi-Fi Calling works.
I'm getting lost in a lot of the information in here.
I'm fed up with lousy performance and charging my phone 2-3 times per day. I've read a few posts online about how the Exynos version is to blame (lucky me, that's the one I have), and that there are some minor tweaks I can do to both improve the performance and battery life.
However, I am dependent on VoLTE and being able to mask root access (actually, I don't really need root access, I just want to change the CPU settings, which I assume requires root access).
From what I've read none of the AOSP ROMs supports VoLTE, and the Lineage crew says it's impossible for them to support it, while other ROMs says that "everything works" which I would think includes VoLTE.
So to the point. I need to keep VoLTE, and I need to be able to mask root. Is it possible to retain those while:
1) Being able to mod CPU settings
2) Being able to uninstall Samsung (cr)apps
3) Getting a clean android experience without any Samsung customization
Device: SM-G960F
Many thanks.
Im on Soliders ROM, very very good ROM.
I have WiFi calling working, but I have to contact my provider and ask for the config file to be OTA sent to me (only if I full wipe on setup)
I have VoLTE, but it doenst work or activate. Not sure its every worked.

Awesome, but now I have a new question. What does bri4 mean? I see BRI1, BRI3 and BRI4 for some ROMs, does that have something to do with which version of the device I have?
BRI4, its just the latest release basically.
Can check in settings>about>software to see your version and work from there
