I got a new t-mobile z2 force from eBay. It seems that NFC chip Is completly dead. I tried with other two Android devices, credit cards, etc...
It doesn't matter stock or los16,...
I'm pretty sure is a hardware issue, not software.
Is there any way to "test" the NFC if works correctly?
Is this a common issue among z2s force?
I want to know for sure before asking for a refund
No one?...
Xt1789-04 owners, does your NFC work?
Having the same issue here. T-mobile phone bought on eBay does not react to NFC cards at all. Did you resolve your issue already?

I just got my Motorola Defy (from amazon.de)
Software version is Blur_version_2.51.1.MB525.Retail.en.DE
My Vodafone SIMcards don't work (tried 3, a prepaid non-UMTS SIM, my normal UMTS SIM and the SIM they exchanged at the Vodafone shop) , but a KPN SIMcard works. Phone shows 'No SIMcard' in the screen.
Does anyone have any insights or help ? (or does the Defy flat out not work with Vodafone NL ?)
Update, also doesn't work with a T-Mobile (NL) SIM.
Is my Defy broken ?

Looks like the SIM reader is faulty...
If it's under warranty, get it replaced.

I applied for RMA and Amazon.de is sending me a new one tomorrow (hope that one yields better results )
No problem! I hope the one you get is problem-free.
The Defy is a great device but hearing things like this gives it a bad rap. If Moto can iron out all the manufacturing problems as well as all the other problems, they'll probably get more sales...

However, anyone who does some research before making a purchase, will know that any phone or even any electronic device out there, will on occasion have a bad apple amongst the bunch. Manufacturing defects are virtually impossible to prevent completely - it is what warranty is for.
If prospective buyers would not buy a device based on the experiences of a fraction of the consumers, they would simply never be able to buy anything.
Ask enough people and you will always find someone who has a problem with any product out there.
Hello everyone
I m working for a mobile company (Wind telecomunications) in Greece and we recently recieved in the store a demo unit of S4. All the other devices we used to recieve were proper phones with proper functionality. It is the first demo unit we recieved (no imei on device) so I would like to know if there is any way to transform it into a normal device. I read some articles on internet about demo units. Some of them saying that flasing a rom solved the issue but some others say that demo units lacking the antenna. Probably mine is missing the anntena as well because I tried to put a sim card and there was no response from the phone. Moreover by calling 112 the phone says that couldnt deliver the call.
So... Propably is antena problem. I would like to know if it is possilble to order and antenna part from ebay (or other) and istall it to the device along with firmware installation or demo unit can be used only as a tablet without sim.
(Important! I am not stealing the device but I am about to use it after it gets off from the live demo wall.)
Thanks

i dont think you can buy just the antenna. you best bet would be to get a broken galaxy s4 from ebay and scrap it for the part you need.
and even then i dont know if you are able to transfer the antenna. Someone with more knowledge about hardware could clarify if its even possible
Hmm i would try flashing stock firmware and use a tool to repair the imei not going to mention the tool here ,...go to a cell phone shop say imei repair they might help u ...

The problem is not the imei repair but if the device can be used like that or not. If someone knows what exactly is the problem and how it can be repaired.
make me call

Hello all!
I have a Note 2 who can't detect my sim card, listen to this:
3 months ago I started to get no sim errors, and after trying everything (factory reset etc), I finally decided to buy a new replacement sim tray.
I got it in the mail and replaced it right away. Damn I was looking forward to using my phone again!
Errr.... Still the same no sim error
Mabye I was extremely unlucky and the new one was faulty as well? Hmm.
I ordered a new sim tray, got it today and replaced the old one.
FFS! Still the same god damn no sim error! :silly: I'm going mad over this ****!
So, it seems like I got no choice but to buy a new phone. (The phone doesn't have any warranty.)
My question is: Has anyone experienced anything like this? Do you have any possible solutions?

Did you test with a different sim? Are you on a custom or official firmware?

Yes, tried 2 other sim cards, none of them works.
I just recently changed to Cynagenmod 10 from stock to see if it would make a difference, but still get "no sim" error.
Do you think this is motherboard related?
It's clearly not the sim tray itself that is the issue here

hard to say, but it could be issues with the board. does searching google give you any info? Try gsmhosting for more info.

Check if your IMEI is correct / the same as when you bought the phone. If you see it has changed or its is corrupt then that might be the reason
to recover your IMEI means recovering your EFS
there is a user here and a htread about recovering / restoring EFS by Drkeaton..something like that .. it very useful and might help u and that mans going back to Stock ROM other than that maybe flash some other ROM stock based though if all fail it might be a hardware fault inside some chip in the mother board !!
Can anyone try to pay with NFC, like android pay or some bank app??
I cannot, and SAT told me that there is no issue founded...
I've payed already a few times with my own bank app, but it seems that the NFC antenna is a bit lower than normal... In most phones it would be around the camera, in this phone I've place like the are of the fingerprint scanner/middle of the phone in the terminals with small connection areas.
My model is the European one.
What country are you in?
Im using Android Pay without issues.
Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk
I'm in the US and use AP frequently. The NFC seems to be near the fingerprint scanner, so don't tap the top of the device, other then that works fine for me.
I have the same issue. I can't pay with nfc.

Have you found the issue? I have the same problem. NFC works, but paying with the phone does not work.
I have now found the solution. It was the NFC SIM Card from Vodafone. This has completely disrupted the internal NFC. Have now ordered a new SIM without NFC and used.
The G-Pay payment works fine now.
Can you confirm for the vodafone nfc sim. ? I have also vodafone but with my previous Galaxy S9+ I didnt have any problem with the payments using my bank app! Very frustrated and dissapointing from LG
guys, i´ve talked today with vodafone Germany and they said they just have nfc sim Cards.
the dude told me to turn off nfc on my phone and try it again. Maybe that will work. try it again tomorrow but somehow i don´t believe him...

Hi folks,
I want to be able to use a second physical sim with my pixel 3xl. I need the second sim to be active for calls and texts but the main sim in the phone will be for data use and calls to that sim etc. I've seen a few bluetooth external devices but nothing relatively news. Has anyone a good relatively cheap solution for this?
Thanks,
Michael

Your idea will not work with the Pixel 3s at this time. Your only option is to get a different device, i.e. iPhone XS or XR. But those are not cheap. There is a buy one get one free deal going on which makes the least expensive one about $500 each. (wanna split it? but only the XS 5.8 lol)
I spoke with a Verizon tech yesterday and he has the XR with primary line on the esim and secondary on an international nano sim. His phone does exactly what you want and that's exactly what he does with it. He also believes, as do I, that this is software related not hardware. So perhaps in the coming months we'll see what the iPhone has ported to the Pixel 3 line. Just don't hold your breath. Other than the bluetooth solution you describe at this point you should probably sell the Pixel 3 and get a different device if it's imperative.
