I have official ROM 2.11.255.1 with radio version 1.38.00.10.
I´m trying to update to new official WM6 rom but when upgrade begins activesync connection closes and upgrade software terminate with error 260.
I´ve already tried upgrade hardSPL V7 but rom upgrades keeps same error.
Solutions?
Can i copy rom upgrade files to micro SD card and upgrade without activesync?
Please help me.

Have you updated your .NET framework to AT LEAST 2.0? That is usually a different error, but what the heck.
Are you successfully connecting to ActiveSync?
All else fails, try the SD Card method. No connection required.
its so irritating... all on a sudden the galaxy y goes blank and after a while gives a notification saying "SD card removed unexpectedly. Unmount SD card before removing for safe removal". whats the solution?? btw i am running on android 2.3.6...
update using kies, fixed mine using the update. or update over the air via wifi..

tried doing that. but i got error while trying to update firmware using kies gonna try it once again today. waiting for my battery to get fully charged...

Get your SD card out of phone before trying to update
last time when i tried i had it out of my phone. but didn't work... btw does it have anything to do with the flight mode? i had it on flight mode last time because the instruction says that i cant answer calls. so i did that so that calls doesn't come at the time of updating.
i am stuck. after it has finished downloading stuff a dialogue box appeared saying kies firmware update has stopped working. i had two options one saying stop firmware upgrade and the other saying check online for solution. i went with the second option and the box disappeared. than there was another box titled "prepare for firmware upgrade"... it is saying "preparing firmware upgrade components". it has been more than half an hour but it hasn't been able to finish preparing. what should i do now???
About the firmware upgrading and sdcard problems, I've followed the two suggestions from here and the suggestion to modify cache size from here using SD-Booster (I set it to 2048, not to 2024) and everything is working ok. No more "SD Removed Unexpectedly"
Btw, uninstall and install Kies again to get rid of the error message. Don't forget that it's crucial to remove sdcard before upgrading firmware with Kies.
try to update using odin or you can update using OTA.

I also get the same problem...Can't update through kies or my phone's software update option....
Then i rooted my Galaxy y...now i can download updates though my phone's software update option...it's easy....
So root ur phone first then try to update.....

Note: i tried to hard reset my phone but the problem still continues
also every device in my home works fine with it and i changed the router and reset it but it cant connect ! Same message appears !
any one facing this problem or any solution ?

Have AdBlocker_Release_ARM_V5.3.xap installed? Tryed to restore hosts file, no succes, reflashed to 8.1 and updatet to wm10. Is the fault of hosts file.

Same here but after returning to 8.1 try to hard reset it will restore the WIFI...since that's what I have done.
If anyone can find the source of the problem and have a solution plz reply as hard resetting the phone is a bothersome to do

Ive been having the same problem on windows 10 mobile. Its ok though. Just leave the wifi connected and it should eventually work (3-5 minutes)

Lenovo OTA servers are down . Everyone is getting the same error message.

You can do it manually if you want.
Facing same problem after replaced screen from service centre.can't do anything but engineer in service centre said that some updates will come on 18 AUGUST which will solve some bugs in Nought update.
Now God knows whether update will come or not
And if comes it solves the problem or increase it?

I had something similar in my OnePlus 5.
Tried a lot of things but was unable to fix this.
Then in the end I flashed a Nougat build using MSM Tool, and then flashed each OOS version update either Full or OTA step by step. That is what fixed this issue for me.
