hey i recently bought a note 4 for verizon and used it on t-mobile.
now it worked and i changed the apn settings manually. except:
1.) The phone would lose signal really quick in certain places and have the circle with a line thru it and it would take few mins, sometimes even have to restart phone to get service back ( i am in a 4g lte service area and it works fine on other devices)
2.) when i was in a call, the option to be on the internet DID NOT WORK. it would say check network settings or something of that sort.
3.) sometimes during a call even with full signal bars, it would hang up and say 'sim not found'
is anyone else experiencing this problem(s) also, or was it just a faulty device?
please any feedback, or insight would be appreciated!
Has it been more than 24 hours activated? Although not a note but her iPhone went from Verizon to t-mobile and she was having issues with data for about 48 hours.
I don't think its just your device (unless we both have faulty devices). I am having the same issues with my Verizon Note 4 on T-mobile network. When I am on a call that requires a keypad entry, it doesn't recognize that I pressed a number (same for voicemail).
My phone also loses signal and 4g in certain place (I thought it was tmobile at first but I was at starbucks with two other friends who had tmobile..they had 4g lte and phone service just fine while my note 4 had neither.)
I was wondering if it was a note 4 issue but haven't found many forums that discussed these issues specifically for verizon note 4 to tmobile users. Please let me know if you are able to find a solution to this problem.

You are correct. I have a Verizon Note 4 that is having the same issues. I'm considering trading this for a T-Mobile note 4 but I don't know how to do that other than craigslist....too bad there is not another way....
I have a SM-G928V on t-mobile network and it works fine. According to SS website band 12 is supported unlike the S6 and the S6e.
FREQUENCIES AND DATA TYPE
LTE Bands (Home) 2, 4, 12;
LTE CA 13+4 (10+10);
LTE Advanced: 2+4. 4+12, 2+12, 4+4;

Sorry. I rarely use txt & MMS. I pretty much use Hangouts and Viber to chat with everyone I know.
By the way, if touch tone DTMF is not working, try to change the DTMF from Short to Long in Phone settings.
I have a T-Mobile edge and edge plus, both have band 12. One of the offices i work at only gets band 12.

Ofc the tmo S6 has band 12 support. I meant the verizon S6.
Network Settings
HI .. I bought a Verizon S6 Edge Plus .. and using it on T-Mobile ... Can you help share network settings for it to work on tmobile?

It's the same one that's everywhere online for TMO LTE, it's not device specific, in fact the same settings are used for all LTE enabled phones, even iPhones. I'd be shocked if it wasn't either the 1st or 2nd result after a Google search.
I once had Verizon Edge+, and used it on T-Mobile.
Add and use the following APN.
Name t-mobile US
apn
fast.-tmobile.com
mmsc http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile/mms/wapenc
apn type default,supl,mms
Leave all other settings as is.
For MMS to work, make sure you add "mms" in APN Type field.
Moreover, once in a while, you'll get an annoying popup saying that the sim card is not Verizon etc. If rooted, just use Titanium Backup and freeze the "activation" apk. If not rooted, use Package Disabler Pro, and the disable the aforementioned apk.
Good luck.
the issue is in you are using Verizon S6 Edge+ on Tmobile network, you can't use data while on phone call.
it doesn't pickup band 12, only works on band 4 etc, which loose the data if phone call picked up.'
is there any way around?

My note 3 did this going from verizon to tmobile. A workaround i found was to switch the network settings from 4g or global to 3g or 2g only and then make the call. Touch tone would work, then after hanging up switch network settings back to 4g or global. Hope this helps you.

_____________METHOD : 1________________
1. Open dialer and type : *#*#4636#*#*
2. Choose SIM1 or SIM2 to enter reception menu.
3. From dropdown menu ( LTE/UMTS auto (prl) as default ) change it to : GSM only
4. Wait until your cellular will reset and turn back on.
5. Less dBm amount = better signal strenght.
6. Test best signal for your network and share it in comments.

I'm waiting for my RN8Pro. Is there signal strength issue by default?
You can change this in network settings menu the normal people way and also allowing only GSM will relegate you to 2g network that has indeed better signal but will kill your internet speeds.

A little bit I think. At my house, with Redmi note 7 I have 4G+ ,with Redmi note 8 pro I don't have 4G+ so often and on places that I have it with Redmi note 7
How to increase the sharpness of incoming call voice? Most of the time, voice is muffled.
The incoming voice leaks from the back of the front speaker too
how to increase the volume of the headphone and speaker?

I try this.. when I change LTE/UMTS auto to GSM only I loose 4G and have only H+ that is slower than 4G.. and the signal is the same.. I try it on one spot for half an hour
2G has almost everywhere coverage and it's too old technology to use.
When UE is registered to 2G network it can't handle voice+data transmission simultanously (most networks does not support DTM technology).
Also 2G is not designed to used AMR-WB voice codec, only simple AMR which sounds like **** to be honest.
So this tutorial is pointless, sacrifice better data speed for rubbish voice and ultra slow data speed

Redmi NOte 8 Pro has big problems with LTE 4G + tape management. The phone does not keep the 4G + it switches and stays in 4G all the time. It's a modem management problem that does not support the double-banding needed for 4G +.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro model M1906G7I (Global) doesn't connect to 4G LTE
Hi there! My problem is even worse than this you are sharing with us. I bought a Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro model M1906G7I (Global). However, there is a lie about it, the specifications indicate that about networks it works for the following 4G LTE bands: B1/B2/B3/B4/B5/B7/B8/B20/B28, but it is not true as it only works for B1/B3/B5/B8/B40/B41 (I found it out by entering to engineer mode *#*#3646633#*#*). Therefore, in my case I can only connect to 3G because my service carrier uses B4 (1700 mhz, 2100 mhz) for 4G LTE. Besides that, everything is fine with the phone. What I am trying to find out is whether it is possible to activate or unlock the B4 band so that it can connect to 4G LTE. If anybody knows about a solution to this issue, I would appreciate the assistance to this matter.
Hi,
You don't have the global version M1906G7G
Global : B1/B2/B3/B4/B5/B7/B8/B20/B28/B38/B40
China : B1/B3/B5/B8/B34/B38/B39/B40/B41
India : B1/B3/B5/B8/B40/B41
You must get a refund if you bought the global version, and change to the M1906G7G to be able to use B4 .
I just tried this on my note 8t. Switched to GSM only and immediately even before restarting the phone, went from 1 bar to full bars. Speed tests show much more bandwidth available (now at 11.8mbps/3.1mbps). Sweet. First post I found after a search and first solution just flat out worked. Still think I should be getting higher speeds (I don't think I have ever really cared about the mobile speed because I am almost always on wifi, and do not recall ever doing a speed test, but at least it's better than it was now.
I've noticed since I've locked my phone to only one lte band and one h+ one... My battery has significantly got better... I have the SN-N970F DS... Not sure if the snapdragon version allows this yet but the app I used was quick shortcut Maker. It's a lil process to get it going but once it's on its great.

NOTE: THIS ONLY WORKS FOR EXYNOS. SNAPDRAGON DOES NOT ALLOW THIS WITHOUT ROOT.
Once in the app... Go to "call settings" then to the last call settings option... Then tap try on the next screen. Then go to the menu option in the next window. Tap band selection.
It's a bit of work to do but:
Have speed test app
Have the call app also ready to be used.
Have cell tower info app (any that shows current lte bands)
Run the speed test app and monitor the lte bands and see which bands are better in your Area. This way you can lock to which ever works best for you.
The reason for the dialer app is to see which WCDMA is needed for calls. You have to have one on that works for you.
Once you determine which lte bands (best to chose 2) and which GSM band your carrier uses for calls... Tap the selection toggle.

Thank you. Seems to be working well. Will have to test for a while.
I am not concerned on using mobile data, i have wifi most of the places. How can this be helpful to increase the battery time? I have dual sim and as per cell info, one sim uses Band 3 and other sim uses Band 20 currently. What steps i have to take to lock in the best band to reduce my battery usage?
I have the steps in my previous post. With a combination of the cell tower info and speed test app... You can determine which band yields the best results. I'm still testing this myself. So far I've gotten just a little over an hour extra. Not much but just like to test this out. Dual SIM users is a little more tricky.

Settings ( GENERAL ) >>> Connections >>> SIM card manager >>>General settings >>> Network mode...
and then choose which band You want to prefer... You can choose to use only lower band like 3G/2G but, in my opinion, it's not worthy cause it decrease network speed pretty drastically and You get up to 1 - 1.5 hour better battery life...
OK i found it but I can't change it (it is grey and I can't click). Thanks for the help!
I mis read your post... I'm in the quick shortcut Maker app... Not the phone app
Phone: S20 5G Snapdragon (SM-G981U1)
Software: US OneUI 3.0 Beta 2 (Build RP1A.200720.012.G981U1EU1ZTJG).
Carrier: Mint Mobile (T-Mobile US MVNO).
Here is what I noticed.
When I am driving, I use Android Auto and when I used Beta 1, for the most part I saw a 5G icon (where 5G is available) on the phone and on the display on the AA.
Now, after Beta 2 update, when the phone's screen is on, then the 5G icon is on the AA display as well as the phone. Once the display screen times out and goes dark (while the phone is still working) the AA display goes from 5G to LTE. As soon as I wake up the phone, back to the 5G.
This behavior is new and I did not see it in Beta 1. Can someone confirm this on T-Mobile US? Thanks in advance.
I am starting to wander if Beta 2 doing a more aggressive power savings than Beta 1? If that's the case, how and what do I disable to keep the 5G connection from "sliding" into LTE when the screen times out?
Same story here, same device with TMO. Beta 1 was 'golden' for me but the Beta 2 is something else. I failed to understand as to how the constant LTE to 5G signal switching could help in the battery saving department, also the native email app doesn't sync properly. Aside from that is it pretty fast and much cleaner than Android 10. Totally understand that it is a Beta which could bring potential issues and such then again common sense dictates that progress should be defined as going forward not backwards.

Apparently the new iPhone 12 does the same, LTE must use less power than 5G, worse with the iPhone apparently it sticks to LTE the majority of the time, only switching to 5G for specific reasons
If you dial *#2263# the device will show the 'ServiceMode' screen where you can scroll down and select the [6]NR5g Band Preference (*), press it and it will open another screen where you could choose the [2] NR NSA ONLY or [3] NR SA ONLY among others then select [A] GO MAIN which will open another screen where you can select [9]-Apply band configuration which will give you the confirmation message; APPLY DONE, reboot next.
In essence [2] NR NSA ONLY would be 'non standalone 5G' and [3] NR SA ONLY would be a 'standalone 5G'. I've tried all that with the Beta 2 yet it doesn't seem to work as it should, at this point leaving the Beta altogether is beginning to make more sense.
Thanks for the tip. I put my phone into the 5G NR SA only mode and will see how that works in my neck of the woods. But I doubt that it will solve an underlying original complaint.
