Hi there,
for some activities (i.e., strolling) the watch alerts me about the start of automatic detection of the activity itself, showing on the watch screen some infos like number of steps and others.
After a while, this "page" is discarded and only a symbol of the activity itself is shown on the watch. Is there any way to keep that menu on or to make it pop up on user demand?
Thank you in advance.

Hi all,
Does anyone know of a way to get the Device Lock feature (appears as a padlock on the Today screen) to active automatically after a preset length of time.
I have WM5 on my ex-SPV/M700 and the feature is very handy for preventing false button presses whilst device in pocket etc but annoyingly can only be invoked manually.
Thanks in adavnce for any help/info,
LL
Do you mean:
Start > Settings > Lock > then tick Prompt if device unused for: choose time lenght
?
Edit: Just checked and that's not what you mean!!! However this would give you the same reset apart from having to enter a PIN number, also making it more secure.
I have exactly the same phone as you. Turn off the standard today plugin from Orange and use the default PocketPC screen and the lock will be visible. I have no idea why Orange forgot to add the Padlock feature as it is standard thing on most phones. If anyone can make this lock larges it would be helpful!
Crankshaft:-
I dont want to be messing about with passwords every time I switch the device on.
Nighthawk:-
As I was alluding to in my first post, I have an ex-SPV/M700!
So, as with you device, I'm with the HTC Homeplug also and have enabled Device Lock to appear on my Today screen already.
My bug-bear is that I want it to activate automatically after a preset time, rather than having to do it manually. Many mobile phones have this kind of functionality, but I've not found a way to do that yet on this XDA...

What about to set an idle delay in the battery/alimentation parameter and check “lock all key” in the key lock parameter...
Hi all,
How can i stop whatspp messages from peeking when the screen is on ?
When the screen is locked , i am able to prevent messages from showing up on lock screen . However when the screen is on ( eg when i am doing some work ) , the whatspp messages peek on to the screen for a brief moment and the messages are visible. I wnat this to stop as sometimes the phone is being used by someone else and they get to see the messages .
The "do not disturb "mode or priority modes silence all other message notifications , hence are useless.
In short i want notifications of my whatspp messages but they should not peek on my screen when its on
Can you suggest a solution ?
Many thanks in advance

pull down notifcations bar, press and hold settings button for few seconds. new menu will be added to settings. go to it (system tuner) other, advanced notifications settings, rturn it on. go to settings, apps, whatsapp, notifications, choose the level you want (no peak would be level 4 I think).
Check out iobit applock. Its free and works great.

For whatever reason , i could not get the System tuner to be added to the settings menu. Holding the settings button did nothing . However i surfed the xda site and found out that by using adb command i could stop the peeking on my active screen.
Follow this thread for more details :https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/help/ui-tuner-nougat-t3547059 which says --
"System UI Tuner has the ability to set notification levels including disabling message previews however Samsung pulled it out in 7.0. The solution is this command and you don't have to be rooted:
Quote:
adb shell settings put global heads_up_notifications_enabled 0
Find more info here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20...tuner-t3493986"
This has worked for me and i have no more peeking. I have samsung S7 with android 7.0.
Will try on Pixel now.
Thanks a lot for all the suggestions
For Now, i cannot make Level base Notification for Custom Applications like Whatsapp. Level Base notification available in built in Apps.

Hi there
Sometimes when I receive an email the notification will not show up on the phone, that is no sound and no led notification.
However as soon as I press the power button or unlock the screen the notification will pop up.
It is almost as if the device goes to sleep state when screen is turned off.
The emails that I miss at times due to this problem are time sensitive and really important for my work.
Such delays are at times resulting in direct monetary loss.
This was never an issue on my Galaxy Note 3 from which I have upgraded.
Can anyone of you guide and assist me as to which settings need to be changed to get it to work properly.
Many thanks for your time.
I have a simmilar issue here. Some notifications show up normally, like mail and facebook, but other apps only show notifications if i have they are opened.
It's like the system is forcing close those apps.

Still haven't found any solution.
Things I have tried :
1. Going to Power Master > Battery Mode > Balance
Thinking that in other modes it would kill background apps to save power.
2. Went to Power Master > Autostart Manager > Added apps I need notifications to start on system startup.
Apart from the mentioned problem, I see another one.
I opened What's app notification setting and turned Group Notifications off and Message notifications are set to show silently and minimize.
However the app itself changes the setting and forces messages on screen by itself over riding my changes. Have been happening since a long time now no matter how many times I change the settings.
Update if you can find any resolution.
Hi all,
I've been searching for a way to trigger Google Assistant on the phone from the watch (kind of like a remote Google Assistant button) and I thought I'd share my progress and gather insights for alternatives/better ways of doing it. This might be super obvious to some of you but for me it was a long way in the making. I started off wanting to develop a separate app from the watch to do this, but ended up just using Tasker to create a notification with 'Voice Command' as its Action.
Why:
Sometimes I want Google Assistant to make a call, send a text, check the weather, set a reminder, play a song etc. but "OK Google" isn't registering. GAssist.net is still growing and doesn't have full assistant functionality yet. Also on my old phone, the screen had to be on for the Google Assistant hotword to be registered, so this is an explicit way to access it.
Requirements:
Tasker 5.9
Android phone
Instructions:
Creating the notification in Tasker
1. Go to Tasks and press '+'
2. Name the task whatever you want, e.g. 'Assistant notification'
3. Press '+' > Alert > Notify
4. Title: 'Launch' , Text: 'Google Assistant' , Icon: <Whatever you want>, Priority: '5', Repeat Alert: Checked, Vibration Pattern: '1', Category: (Press the search and press 'User Notifications' )
5. Under actions, press '+'
6. Label: 'Start', Action: (Press the search and select 'Input' > 'Voice Command')
7. Go back on the top left corner
8. Press the play on bottom left to see if the notification launches, check Google Assistant opens when you press 'Start' in the notification
Creating the profile to trigger the notification in Tasker
What this does is every time the screen turns off, it will send the notification. You can alter this if you want to whatever suits you
1. Go to Profiles and press '+'
2. State > Display > Display State > Is 'Off'. Go back (top left corner)
3. There should be a pop up with tasks, select 'Assistant Notification'
4. Make sure the toggle is on for the profile
Test it on your watch. When the phone screen turns off, see if a notification comes through, and see if you can start Google Assistant from the notification on the watch.
Let me know how you go and what your thoughts are Feedback welcomed.
Notification task setting and how it looks on the watch
I can't find the 'user notification' in category. Just say you don't have any profile.
Hello After all, I have only had my S20 Ultra for a week and I would like to ask you for help with notifications because I can't find these things anywhere, more precisely:
1. Where can I turn on applications such as Massenger, Facebook, Whatsup or even ordinary text messages with their notifications "waking the screen" (the phone is lying down, gets a notification and the screen lights up)? In the Huawei P20 Pro, which I had for 2 years, there was no need to set anything and it was at the factory system.
2. How to set that notifications appear in the middle of the screen in the form of a frame with text, and not so that now only the icon in the status bar at the top appears?
3. How and is it worth removing Bixby? For example, will removal result in extended battery life?
4. Is it possible to change the screen somehow after moving to the right - we have tabs there, including "Upday" with news, you can set Spotify, Netflix, Tiktok, or some Instant Games .. that's all? Can you set news from the world and country from Google, for example, as in other Android phones?
5. Do you know any less obvious tips on how to extend the battery life? Delete something from the system etc?
THANKS AND I COUNT ON YOUR HELP
