I'm in a market for dual Sim note 10 plus from overseas. Possible to flash that phone to use tmobile csc (enable volte, wifi calling, etc) without unlocking bootloader or trigger Knox?
As far as I know, the 9750 is snapdragon variant, not exynos

Could I buy n975f/ds (this one should be exynos) and flash tmobile csc?

Not without root.
If your goal is VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling on T-Mobile, then there is no need to flash the CSC because T-Mobile has opened up their network for unlocked device. I am getting those functionalities on my dual sim S8+ and also Note 10+ without flashing anything.

So basically call tmobile and ask them to add the imei number into their system? What about Samsung Pay? Will it work without csc?
Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk
Actually, both of my phone works without calling in. I think they opened it up sometime last month. Samsung Pay is going to be dependent on your firmware. I am using Australian firmware on S8+ and Taiwan firmware on my Note 10+ which allows me to use Samaung Pay in US (without the rewards program). If you root and flash CSC, Samaung Pay is gone forever due to tripping Knox.

So I'm looking into the same, want dual SIM on T-Mobile service but with Samsung pay and like the us shop Samsung app.
From your last response seems like pay will work but no other Samsung apps like for cashback and award

hi,
how is your experience in term of data connection with Note 10+ exynos on T-Mobile network ? when i check details specification of Note 10+ exynos (N975f) on sammobile, it is missing a lot some of T-Mobile's LTE radio frequencies, https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-note-10-plus/specs/SM-N975F/ . even way less than Note 8 exynos LTE bands .
is information on sammobile site incorrect or am i looking at wrong place ?
thank you !

I don't know if the F variant has fewer bands than the N variant but my N is only missing I think band 66 for Tmobile.
Also I'm not sure about wifi calling since that is not something locked down in their end anyway. The device needs to have software and CSC settings to enable it, both of which are absent on at least the N variant and historically F variant as well since neither device was meant for the USA market.
VoLTE works for me, but no wifi calling since both pieces are missing.

I do not have the Exynos Note 10+, I have the Snapdragon Note 10+ but it is also missing similar T-Mobile bands (66,71). You can check the LTE bands on the Samsung UK website and see that the phone covers majority of the T-Mobile bands. Due to the missing bands and lack of proper carrier aggregation support, you might experience slower speed and/or poor reception in rural area. But general usage is not reallg affected unless you are downloading a large file or constantly streaming in 4K.

thank you for your confirmation. i feel upgrading to N975f on t-mobile network will like be in a situation you pay more for less capable device. but it will depends on where you are going to use it most.
OOT, i am wondering why samsuck doesn't make one device with unlockable BL using exynos/SD to rule most (if not all) LTE frequencies, i.e like newer iphone A2104, to capture more customers if there is no technical boundaries

on my Note8 n950fd/s, wifi calling & HD calling (VoLTE) work fine after CSC mod using tekhd CSC DETONATOR INT, tested on t-mobile and their relevant MVNOs (Metro, Simple). so it is just a matter of CSC configuration, isn't it ?

I am guessing if Samsung can have their way, they would push their Exynos chipset everywhere but due to carrier restrictions they end up having Qualcomm in the US and China. I just wish they did all Qualcomm phones like Sony and have carrier aggregation tables from all of the regions available. I believe this is also a problem with iPhone as well but its less relevant for US users - iPhone that can do band 71 does not cover band 28, and only the HK version of the iPhone have physical dual sim.
The good news is that T-Mobile just recently open up their VoLTE, VoWifi to unlocked international so there is no need to jump through hoops (root and flashing CSC) to get those services. Just hoping AT&T would follow before they shutdown their 3G network.

Not just CSC config. If you look at his pack (his is what got me started on the N variant patch I made for the Note 8) there are a few Tmobile system apps that are taken from a US Tmobile rom. The only difference between the F and N in that sense (and the reason his zip wouldn't work on N devices) was that the F had a couple general vowifi files that were absent on the N, and for some reason the N's included digital TV system interfered with the VPN connection that Tmobile wifi calling creates. My N patch basically took the CSC files, the same Tmobile files as TeKHD's patch and those additional framework binaries which were already present in F firmware and deleted the Korean TV thing to stop it from blocking the wifi calling connection.

The reason they don't bring it here is that their exynos modem doesn't support CDMA (Verizon and sprint), whereas Qualcomm's do. Most of the world runs on GSM but since we've moved on to LTE and 5G hopefully this will no longer be an issue in the future.
Also, Tmobile didn't ever have those locked. My Note 8 got VoLTE stock, just no wifi calling for the above mentioned reason. Also for that reason you still need the Tmobile CSC patches to add those missing software pieces even on Pie.

wow... thank you for the education.
I noticed that the CSC mod is for the note 9, Can anyone please direct me to a tutorial on how to set the scs for t-mobile on my note 10+, sm-n975f/ds?
This is the first I was able to find anything about the CSC mod using tekhd CSC DETONATOR INT. Thanks for mentioning it here!
On the Note 10 + (SM-N9750/DS) VOLTE and WiFi Calling work on the stock CSC (BRI or TGY).
Ok thanks for letting me know bro!
Sorry But I just looked through the CSC list and did not see anything listed that contains the phrase (BRI OR TGY)
Sorry I am such and noob and probably do not know what your referring to, ok
I noticed that a few the oem csc have (t-mobile) none are English would anyone of these still work? I am assuming yes, especially because before I put the Brazilian csc I remember glancing at the current firmware that was on the phone and it was not t-mobile, I don't remember exactly I think it was UK Vodafone and it still worked until I got to Brazil I suppose it started to malfunction because I did not have a Brazilian Sim card to use lol

In About Phone under Software Information. Here's mine. It was originally a BRI device but I flashed the TGY CSC on it hence is says TGY, TGY, TGY, BRI. Wifi calling and VOLTE work on either CSC.
Thanks for the reply.

May I please ask one last question, where did you get this csc file from?

Hello everyone!
I'm not too familiar with Samsung devices, I believe my last one was a Galaxy S4 ...
Anyhoo, I ordered a Note 10+ SM-N975W which is the Canadian variant with a Snapdragon 855 after reading it is superior to the Exynos version, however I'm European often travelling between the UK, Spain etc.
To get to my question
Is there any firmware I can flash on to my device for example N975W to N975F or even N975U1 which is US unlocked
I realise the chances of flashing N975F are slim as that device has the Exynos, but any help is greatly appreciated!
My carrier is EE not sure if that matters
You can only flash firmwares for snapdragon, NEVER firms for exynos

Thank you for your reply!, I suspected this was the case.
With that being said!
Is there a firmware you'd recommend between N975U1 or N9750?
Both are Snapdragon variants the difference being that one is US Unlocked the other is China/Brazil
The only differences I imagine there is, is the timing of OTA updates?
I own an exynos model, what I know for sure is that the differences in snap firms are mainly about the bands supported, you must dig into this

The N9750 is supposed to be for the Snapdragon Dual Sim model.
If you need to flash a different firmware, I'd recommend you to go for the U1.
My old S8+ was originally W and I flashed the U1 firmware for "faster OTA's" but I always ended flashing newer version on my own.

Hello, thank you so much for your input, I will go with U1!
Am i correct in thinking the only things I'll be missing out on (as I'm in Europe)
is
VoLTE, WiFi Calling & Samsung Pay?
Those 3 services are in some cases carrier dependant, some carriers only offer some services to devices distributed by them, specially volte and wifi calling, that is, they check the imei for that purpose

For what it's worth, I too have the N975W.
I just received it yesterday, but I did flash the Star Wars firmware from the N975U1 (generic US) and it had zero issues. As I understand, the N975W and N975U1 have the same hardware, and is ok to crossflash.
So I'm fairly new to the cross flashing process but highly intrigued by it and what kind of doors that could open up.. My question is when it comes to cross flashing, what version of Odin would be ideal in order to make sure the process is successful??

The International Snapdragon variants have a better SoC however being in Denmark you won't get some Carrier Features the Exynos variants offer, that's the trade off.

I have the Hong Kong variant on T-mobile. Advantages - Snapdragon SoC, no carrier bloatware, close to pure android, dual sims, unlocked bootloader, price ($745 on eBay). Disadvantages - Warranty repair would be difficult, no 5G yet or carrier aggregation. Highly recommend, my S8, S9 and S10, all Hong Kong variants, never had any problems whatsoever.

Not to me, I typically download large files on my laptop via WiFi then transfer them to my device. I'm a frequent flyer so I watch movies (torrents) which are typically 2GB. Not sure how long that would take to download on my device via T-mobile but it's not significantly faster than WiFi. When mmWave is widely avaliable Carrier Aggregation will be more valuable but right now High-band 5G is comparable to WiFi file transfer speeds. That's a small inconvenience compared to the benefits the device offers.
@varcor did you change the CSC to see if CA works ?
I'm assuming you're on TGY. I'm also in the USA and think changing to BRI might increase ca bands.

No, my CSC is TGY. I live in Mexico but use T-mobile since they offer free calls and data in collaboration with Mexico's largest telcom Telcel. Even when I'm in the US I don't have CA. I haven't gone to T-mobile to ask if they can configure CA but I doubt they can on the SM-G9860 or SM-G9880 regardless of the CSC. I use a laptop with Wifi for large downloads so it's not a priority. I do get Wifi Calling and VoLTE even in Mexico, YMMV depending on your service provider. Also I've read BRI has some issues so I'm not inclined to make the switch. This thread may give you further insight.

That link is google amped , perhaps you can edit it to make it viewable, thanks.
I was just curious to know if someone had changed their CSC to BRI and if it enabled CA.
I believe the first thing to be gathered is what bands are CA enable on the BRI CSC before even proceeding with anything else.
Also before flashing to attain CA I think one needs to compare tgy and bri CA combos.
Edit. Read that already, mainly non americans discussing attaining 5G on their respective countries.

Hi everyone,
I got a S20 Ultra (Korean version) as it was one of the few with Snapdragon to work on UK bands but I am struggling to trick the phone to show me content in english on native apps (Samsung Daily, Weather, Members app...).
Don't get me wrong, the initial content is in english but once you try and get more info, about the weather for example, it takes me to a korean website. Members is in Korean all around and daily has Korean cards inside.
Which I think is normal due to the Korean CSC.
I changed the CSC from SKT to KOO but it only removed the network branding and default carrier apps.
Is there a way to bypass the CSC or install an English CSC from UK for example?
did you find how to change it ?
Also have the same issue. I am in Australia. I was thinking about installing australian firmware?
I have an SM-G9860, which is the Hong Kong S20+, and live in Romania. Anyway, I'm pretty much in the same boat as you, having the TGY csc instead of ROM or ORO. Samsung Weather sends me to samsung internet to accuweather.com, which is just what my old exynos s10+ would do, and samsung daily seems about normal, with only the spotify recommendations card showing something in chinese. On the other hand, Samsung Members, which had been acting like I was living in Hong Kong (showing me the offers from there and so on), has, since a few days ago, started showing me content from Romania. Upon randomly launching it last week, it gave me a message as such: "App might reset due to regional settings change" or something like that. My csc is still TGY and samsung pay for instance still is the hk variant. Other than that everything is pretty normal.
Thats why I was asking if its possible to dowbload firmware for the Australian version of the S20 Ultra which is not snapdragon (the reason I bought Korean version because it is snapdragon). Will things still function as normal if I put on Australian firmware that is designed for a korean phone? Sammobile has the firmware for all countries spec phones.

No. Quite simply put: You can only flash Firmware intended for that specific handset.
For example: I own the SM-G9880, which is the (snapdragon 865) Asian version of the S20 Ultra 5G.
I can only flash three firmwares: TGY (Hongkong), BRI (Taiwan) and CHC (China "open"). NO other firmware. Certainly not, say, the EU Firmware, which is for another CPU entirely (Exynos 990)

Firmware of a US s20 Ultra running Snapdragon chipset wouldn't work either?

The same way I can't use it because I'd need a card from Hong Kong, but I just use GPay instead, works like a charm. Nope, nothing, I'm afraid. You can only flash the Firmware intended for that specific model number. I am in a slightly different conundrum - I got the SM-G9880, and I'm using it in Europe. While LTE and 5G bands are similar, they aren't identical. LTE, it's barely noticeable, since 1,3,7 and multiple others are supported, 1,3 and 7 work in 4x4 MIMO and the most important Carrier Aggregation Combos like 7-3-3-1 (12) work too. Only thing I don't have is CA with Band 20 (only supported in single mode) and on the LTE side that's basically it - I even have 28-7-3-1. However, 5G wise, different story. Only Bands I got for the EU are N1 and N78, which luckily is exactly what my carrier uses, but there might be N3 and N28 down the road like in other EU countries so it'd be nice to have that...

Is anyone using a Korean or Chinese s20 in the US? If so, what carrier are you using, and do you have any issues? I know 5g probably won't work, but other than that, any problems with service on these phones?
To answer my own question, the s20 Ultra Korean model (S988N) with KOO csc works perfectly in the US on Verizon and Tmobile, including 5G.
