Question, I used root access to enable VoWIFI capability on my Xiaomi Mi Mix2s. If I were to unroot the device and disable the bootloader unlock would I lose my changes. I want to do this so I can use my mobile banking apps and netflix, but I dont want to lose the VoWIFI capability I've enabled.
Thanks

I want to be able to:
. Use apps on my G5 that require root such as AdAway, Titanium etc. and potentially Xposed.
. Uninstall systems apps
Can I root my phone without unlocking the bootloader first? How would I do this?

Hi all,
I've some problem about bootloader. When i try this steps.
1. Settings--- About phone--- MIUI Version (Keep tapping it to enable developer option).
2. Settings--- Additional settings--- Developer option and bind your approved Mi account under Mi Unlock Status.
I cannot open because of sim card and mobile data. My both IMEI's does'nt work and i'm not able to use mobile data. Is there any different way to bootloader unlock?
Thanks all!

I'm also interested if anybody knows the answer
I have sent the unlock request to xiaomi so need to wait for a week to unlock the phone. I have found so many bugs on 12.5.2 specially battery drain so fast. I would like to know once is unlocked the bootloader can I downgrade from 12.5.2.0(RRGEUXM) to V10.4.5.0.PGGEUXM? If it can be done with MI flash tool and i want to use some banking apps can they be used or need to be lock again the bootloader? will I be able to unlock the bootloader in the future if needed again? Sorry for the questions I have no much idea . I really appreciate the help and support of the community. Thank you my anti number is 1
1. I think yes, with data wipe (select flash_all). Unlocking bootloader will also wipe your data so do it once and never look back. I haven't tested that. But undoable without data wipe, that's for sure. ROM region doesn't matter unless if you are planning to relock the bootloader
2. Depends on the apps. Some of them can be fooled by magisk hide, some of them even detect bootloader lock status (but how? idk). Just test your apps in every bootloader lock status scenarios, and you will find your answer (not only for banking apps. some apps will be locked out if it detects root/tampered boot)
3. No need to worry about anti rollback lock. It virtually doesn't exist in this device

Thank you for all the explanation you are a expert
I recently had a stock Pixel 2 die, couldn't access anything to try and fix the problem because the I never allowed OEM unlocking, too bricked to access recovery or anything. To avoid this happening with my Pixel 2 XL, I want to unlock the bootloader just in case I need to flash anything to recover the device if something similar happens again. No interest in flashing anything custom anymore, can't be bothered to attempt to hide apps from root since I've had problems doing that in the past just to get my online banking to work.
My question is, will allowing OEM unlocking on a stock image stop anything like banking apps and Google Pay from working? I know a lot of these apps can detect root and stop themselves from working, but would this do the same with just allowing OEM unlock in the developer settings? I wouldn't unlock the bootloader through ADB until something goes wrong to begin flashing etc.

I don't believe it will stop Google Pay from working, but have not tested it. As for other apps, it depends on whether that app checks for an unlocked bootloader. Some apps do check for unlocked bootloader.
