I'm using CM7RC1v2 and I'm having troubles choosing a different navigation app in the contacts by clicking the address...it always opens Google Maps.
I tried deleting the default settings...but it's greyed out.
I deleted Google Maps but then nothing opened when clicking the address....
I tried deleting the default settings from my other navigation app but that was greyed out as well.
Any idea?
So, no clue anyone?
Hello again,
right now I installed cm7 from scratch (not only due to this bug but performance issues). Unfortunately it had no impact: I still cannot link any navigation app to my contacts addresses!
edit: seems to be a bug in the navi software...another one worked.
So I have a google search widget on my home screen and when i try to look up something in the google search app and press enter on my keyboard it just force closes.
I also noticed that in the stock browser that the logo next to the address bad no longer shows the google icon.
Not sure what I did? I remember uninstalling "Clean Master" and "System Tuner" before it happened, but before I uninstalled it I restored the defaults on the system tuner app.
ALSO, I had google searched greenify'd so I converted it back into a system app.
please help!

Clear cache and data of Google search using the app manager in settings.
If that doesn't work, uninstall Google search entirely and reflash gapps.
Sent from your phone. You should be careful where you leave that thing.

The first option didn't work, but uninstalling it and reininstalling it did! Thank, I was about to panic!
Hey guys,
I am facing a very weird problem with my SGN2. We have and inbuilt Google search app in our mobile. The one which we can access through the app, widget or by long pressing Menu button while on the Homescreen. This is a multiple search function which helps you search for your apps in the phone as well (Assuming you have selected apps in the settings under phone search)
However it has suddenly stopped searching for the apps. It searches for everything like contacts, music tracks, bookmarks, and other options I have chosen in phone search but somehow it just does not show my apps! :silly:
Can you guys please help me with this.. Any help is much appreciated
Cheers
Edit:
Never mind guys, I worked out the solution... Works for me atleast.
1. Go to Settings
2. Go To Application Manager
3. Go to Google Search (If you have 2 then go to one with blue icon) and select it
4. Force Stop the application
5. Clear The Date
7. Restart the App
And Everything is working :victory::victory:
Hello everyone!
I'm running Hyperdrive on my S3, and I'm struggling with Google Search and getting it to work properly. I haven't had this issue before on the S3 or my Note, so I'm a little lost. It came pre-installed with this app. It would open, run through the Google Now setup, and then when it went to the part where it listens to what you're saying, the screen would freeze and it would force close (eventually). I removed it and reinstalled it from the market.. Same thing. I have tried different APK files I found and nothing is working.
I have also noticed that when the app is installed, I have two different search applications, so I think it's running a duplicate app somewhere, but I can't find it.. I have "Google" which takes me to the search thing, and then I have "Voice Search" which takes me there as well, both force close if I open them.
Any ideas? Where are all the files for these located? I thought I completely removed it, but maybe I missed something and it's causing issues.
Thanks for the help!

Sounds like your google voice is messed up somehow, If you manually type something into google now, does it work? I would say to try and clear cache and data for google search and framework in settings>apps>under all tab. Reboot phone, if this doesn't work, try a full wipe-ROM reflash. For future reference this should have been posted in Q&A.
Running CM10.1.3 stable on Samsung Galaxy S3 I747 and when I woke up this morning my google now widget was gone, just the widget. not on my home screen anymore, nor is it in my widget drawer. Google Now works perfectly, there is just no widget anymore. I've tried clearing data for google search app, using titanium backup i've uninstalled it and reinstalled google search from play store. Nothing else on the phone seems to have disappeared or stopped functioning.
Anybody else had this issue or have any advice?
Thanks,
Stu

Do you have auto update apps on? There was an update for Google search today. Maybe that is what happened. Try finding the previous version and see if you can get it back.

I rolled the app back to "factory version" and cleared data and cache, erased system and dalvik cache, and still nothing.
