Hi!
I´m not new into flashing mobile phones, but with my new Mi Max 3 I´m not sure to do the right things.
I bought the 6Gb/128Gb Variant (so Chinese or international Version) and the Seller (from Gearvita) sent me the Phone with unlocked Bootloader and GlobalRom. It seems to be the official Global Rom, because there are normal OTA Updates from Xiaomi and they work.
I tried to flash TWRP via fastboot mostly for enabling Camer2Api and for changing the DPI with root-access, but there is no responding from the phone while Fastboot Mode
ADB Driver are installed, Developer Options and USB-Debugging are enabled. If I start the CMD or PowerShell it recognized "adb devices" as normal and with the command "fastboot bootloader" the phone goes into Fastbootmode, but then there is no reaction anymore to any command. "fastboot devices" says "no device found" , "flash recovery .img" says nothing or sometimes it says image "size too large"
So what is the best way to get a save unlocked bootloader official from Xiaomi? Mi Unlock Tool don´t recognize my phone, too :crying:
I know I should go back to normal Chinese Rom and locked bootloader, than unlock the bootloader official way and then flash GlobalRom and install TWRP, but how to get back to CN Rom without doing any mistakes?
I´m on latest 10.3.5.0 since yesterday - I hope there is no problem with ARB in that case.
Thanks in Advance
In the meantime I checked the fastboot behavior with an older Notebook (Windows 7) and now everything is working correctly.
I had to use adb sideload in TWRP and was able to install Magisk and Camera 2 API Enabler.
But I tried soooo many Driver Setups with Windows 10 and nothing was workling as it should
I´m not sure if I have still a fake unlocked bootloader, but everything is working for me now

Interesting. I have a somewhat similar experience. Got a China phone with global rom (4/64GB variant.) The phone updated to 10.3.5.
I immediately rooted it (using TWRP boot; did not flash TWRP - with a magisk Zip) an all seemed fine.
After your post I tried to test the process again - and to my greatest surprise
1. I see the phone with fastboot devices but
2. The same TWRP I booted in before (with the same software version) does not boot any more
I get an error message with adb and the phone reboots.
Not sure where to go from here...

Hi,
I bricked my Xiaomi Mi 6.
My phone was bought in china, I unlocked bootloader and flashed global version.
Lately I flashed TWRP and Magisk.
Than I wanted to come back to stock and lock bootloader, so I flashed global ROM, everything was fine, stock recovery came back, so I used command "fastboot oem unlock" (I couldn't use Mi Flash, because it just stops working, when I'm trying to do anything). Than phone kept starting only to fastboot. I could also start phone to recovery, but not to system.
So, using MI Flash Unlock I unlocked bootloader again. And now I still can only enter to fastboot or recovery, not to system. And, my PC doesn't see the phone. I don't see the phone after typing adb devices to Command Prompt, also Mi Assistant doesn't see phone. I wiped everything through recovery, but it didn't help.
Please, help me with unbricking the phone. It doesn't need to be with locked bootloader or so, I just want phone to work...
I don't think it is bricked in fastboot the command should be fastboot devices not adb devices try that command
Hopefully someone here has more knowledge to help you sort it out.
You should format your userdata from fastboot that's why you can't boot into the system.
I suggest you to read this https://xiaomifirmware.com/downloads/download-install-drivers-xiaomi-mi6/ page before anything and then get XiaoMiFlash from that page, install it. It will also install fastboot and adb drivers for you.
Then I suggest you to use this https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790 adb & fastboot tool since it's easy to use.
After getting miflash ready with the drivers and also the tool from the second link,
Reboot to fastboot and type
fastboot devices
After seeing your device type
format userdata
Then find a twrp image if you'd like to install any custom rom and install it from fastboot (you can find how to do it in their respective threads) or download miui from miui site then follow the instructions there go back to stock. But in case of the latter you may not to select lock bootloader option in miflashtool in case you may want to experiment with custom roms in the future.
Hi, I'm Argentine and I don't know much about English so I'm going to use the google translator and it may not be understood very well.
I'm having a problem, I have my RN5 Pro (whyred) in bootloop, I can flash any frimware from MiFlash / QFIL (fastboot or test point) but it's still the same. I tried to flash a custom rom with all the recovery (all the versions of the TWRP, Orange Fox, RedWolf, PBRP) but it gives me error 7 (I saw tutorials on youtube, it is not useful to edit the update file).
Among many programs I used I found the "Xiaomi ADB / Fasboot tools 6.2.5". When I enter Fastboot mode, I get "Bootloader: unlocked" in the device information, but when I enter ADB mode it says "Bootloader: locked".
What I wanted to know is if it is possible that for this reason I cannot install a rom from recovery, because it recognizes me as "locked".
Hi it's me again
i've bicked my phone last week, it only shows the image of realme and then a text that says the boot/recovery image have been destroyed, the problem with this brick its THE BOOTLOADER ITS BLOCKED AND THE PHONE CANT START THE RECOVERY, so the options are pretty limited, plus my device is china version.
The things and tools that i've been trying are:
*ADB FASTBOOT (i know i already said that the bootloader it's blocked but i had to try)
*Qualcomm snapdragon flash tool QIFL
*Qualcomm premium tool
*XTM Inferno tool
*OPPO download tool
*MSMDownload tool
Yeah, i've tried a few things already (not too much to be honest), but with everyone theres a problem.
Adb dont recognice because its not in fastboot, QIFL needs a xml file but the roms don't have it, and i dont know how to program it, XTM inferno tool dont recognice the device, and oppo and msm download tool needs an account, if anyone knows what can i do now, please let me know, i'm a little bit sad cause i haven't made it to unbrick
So sad that you can't enter fastboot. It seems that means you can't send commands to your phone.
Recently, I saved my "soft brick" China version RMX. I also get "boot/recovery image have been destroyed" notification, but I can enter fastboot mode (power+Volume-), and my fastboot is unlocked. I used "fastboot flash recovery" cammand to flash TWRP and another command for vbmeta (https://forum.xda-developers.com/re...very-unofficial-twrp-realme-x-stable-t3959556). However, the response in "Windows Command Prompt" is "Failed unknown error".
So I decided to power off and charge my phone. After power off, there is thunder icon, a symbol for charging in powe off state, on the screen. Sunddenly, the phone boot into TWRP automaticly. I connected it to my laptop at once and find TWRP MTP service works which means I can copy the 2.6 GB stock Color OS zip (RMX1901CN_flashable_A17.zip, https://forum.xda-developers.com/realme-x/how-to/guide-to-stock-rom-stock-recovery-t3974607
, https://sourceforge.net/projects/rmx1901/files/custom_recovery_StockROM_flashable_files/) to internal storage (/sdcard), and I installed it successfully, though there was "Unmount to mount storage" error when I wiped Data in TWRP.
Reboot to system succesfully and showed Color OS setting guide, which showed at the first time you turn on the phone. Recovery changed to oppo stock Recovery, but the unlocked fastboot mode didn't change.

Thank you very much, i will keep looking, and will see the tool u shared, any step forward i make i will post it, and thanks again
Flash official ofp format stock ROM in EDL mode might be helpful. The links offer ofp ROM, guide & password for download tool. An XDA post also mentioned this link. But I'm still confused about the difference between RMX1901 and RMX1901EX model. Some custom ROM is universal for India and China variant on XDA .

Hi dude, at this time I have not found a way to do it without realme tech support, or remote flash tool.
This device needs a “permission” of realme servers to get flashed. If your device is India version you can ask to boy cracker staff, if your device is China version maybe combine file staff can help.
If you have the option of send it to realme tech support, you should take it

Bro yesterday I got an update from reami I updated to android 11 my bootloader was not unlocked and update was failed no recovery stuck on logo i Tryed to flash with msm but still no responce its indian version 1901 any solution please ?
But I can't tried ufs
So, I have a Redmi Note 8 Pro with a Chinese ROM and I'm trying to flash a global ROM, obviously.
I unlocked the device - it worked fine. I used Miflash to flash the global ROM in fastboot. The process was successful - at least that's what the utility reported.
Now the device only boots into recovery - I can't even boot it into fastboot, let alone the system. In recoery, Mi PC Suit does not see it...
What can I do?
Update:
Redmi Recovery says "This MIUI version can't be installed on this device"
Update 2:
No matter what I do I can't get it into fastboot....

While in recovery, connect to your PC and run "adb reboot bootloader"
Or just get the proper ROM for your phone and flash through recovery via adb sideload or pushing it to your sdcard and flashing it through recovery
I tried tons of ROMs via adb recovery, but nothing works - I get either of the two following error messages:
ERROR: This rom cannot be installed, server code -> 2001, server message -> It's not allowed to upgrade to unofficial ROM package.
ERROR: This rom cannot be installed, server code -> 2009, server message -> Couldn't verify. Looks like current ROM's network carrier type is different from that in the Recovery package. Please download the correct ROM from MIUI forum.
adb reboot booloader got me into fastboot, but now it says "not allowed in locked state"...I did unlocked it...what the heck!?
OK, I figured out what went wrong - I accidentally flashed EE ROM, and now:
1. The phone doesn't boot with that ROM
2. I can't flash any other ROM, other than EE
Anything I can do?
In recovery I get the following error message" This MIUI version can't be installed on this device"
It appears that I accidently locked it back (that's the default in MiFlash). Anything I can do ow?
OK. I figured it out. Sorry for spamming. For the record:
1. I used adb to reboot into bootloader, as suggested
2. I used Mi unlock to unlock it again - strangely enough, this time I got it unlocked immediately, without waiting
3. I flashed the ROM with adb
Now everything works.
I am trying to flash the LineageOS on my Redmi Note 5 Pro (whyred). Initially, I used Windows 10 for the Xiaomi Unlock Tool. However, the Xiaomi Unlock Tool did not detect my device. So, I used this tool https://www.xiaomitool.com/V2/ to unlock my bootloader and it unlocked instantly. Now, I am using Ubuntu 21.04 (I am more comfortable using the command line here) (with android-tools-adb and android-tools-fastboot packages installed) to try to flash TWRP first.
When I connect my device, adb devices can recognise it. Then I use adb reboot bootloader to enter into fastboot. Now, fastboot devices can recognise it too. The screen of the phone shows the fastboot icon.
But, the problem comes here. I use fastboot flash recovery twrp.img and I get this error
FAILED (Write to device failed (No such device))

Now, when I use fastboot devices again. I don't see my device. Another change I see is press any key to shutdown written on the top left corner of the screen of my phone.
USB debugging, USB debugging security, OEM debugging are all enabled. Bootloader is unlocked (as I see in the settings). The phone is updated to latest MIUI version supported officially. And I used the same laptop and method to flash TWRP in a Redmi 3S (land) some time back.
(Posted the same question on android.stackexchange.com also) (https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/238996/redmi-note-5-pro-unable-to-flash-twrp)
Something else I experienced is that after randomly trying to get this right again and again, the command fastboot flash recovery twrp.img did not terminate or fail and got stuck.
So, this was a duplicate. I used the 5th method here and it worked for me. https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/everything-about-anti-roll-back-whyred.3816219/
