being oled the contrast and vibrancy has been excellent. no green hues or inconsistent whites. Excellent quality overall.

I am seeing green hues when tilting - do you know If this is a known issue?
Amoled screen calibration would not be exactly same for all, as far as i know.. my display is punchy, and blacks are not so deep as samsung flagships, i compared mine yesterday at relaince digital
if seen vertically blacks are deep, but if seen top straight to eye, i can see that its not deep.

Mine is a warmer display , although all amoleds are slightly on yellowish tone but I prefer whites and deep blacks , less yellow

Agreed! I wish they included some kind of setting to tune it to our liking. But i guess that's not gonna happen.
But the screen is good, despite being just a 720p panel.

So you have warmer display too ? I was going to visit service centre for a replacement
Well, my display is on the cooler side.
There is a slight green hue when tilted, blacks are really black no matter the angle, and the saturation is pretty decent, not excessive.
I honestly like this panel, I think it's very well calibrated and it has a balanced color overall.
Phone manufactured on 11-2019
Display over saturated
Please add the cool mode display settings. Now the display is over saturated and it is hurting my eyes.

It's a beautiful IPS display. The colors are vivid and not over-saturated.
I really feel the saturation is quite lacking. The colors seem to punch where they are needed with certain UI elements but then lacking elsewhere such as flesh tones in videos. Fortunately there is an easy fix for this and it is to incorporate the screen color mod into a kernel. Unfortunately there really is no active kernel development for the G5. I guess we will just have to wait and hope things pick up.
Colors are decent but yeah, a bit undersaturated, almost blue-ish in some cases. I was surprised to see there is no display color adjustment...it's a real pity because camera(s) takes such beautiful pics, but you really appreciate them when you watch them on a calibrated display!
very under saturated
Now that my tempered glass protector broke, I can judge the naked screen again. I think it's just "fine." I feel like it needs a bit more saturation like what the users said above. Still love my phone though <3
I think it's very close. Apple Iphones are nasty and look artificial to me.
My buddies HTC M9 is very similar too.
It's all on the coding too, some video encoders mess with coloring. Youtube is horrible

+1 with the Screen color Adjustment, this could adjust the saturation a bit though making it look a bit darker but more detailed.
Outcome photos won't change though. :silly:

I feel like the color quality went down after a few months, I'm thinking did the lens "degrade?"

Love the black on AMOLED displays. Every pixel has its own backlight, so when it display black, the backlight is basically off, which result in a true black and very high contrast.
Amoleds have true black. Pixels don't turn on if the 'colour' displayed is true black.
Any deviations are down to screen filters and glass used.
If a display has a gap between glass and amoled top layer some 'ghosting' can potentially occur if bright scenes mix with dark ones. This could have the effect of making certain parts of a screen appear slightly grey.

Great contrast in the amoled screen!
With this phone, black is really black.
It's an AMOLED, so the answer to how much more black it could is none. None more black.
i have a issue where grey colors wash out in lower brigthness settings
Amazing..!
The contrast in the OLED panel is amazing the black is black beacause the panel is Off i really love this phone..! :RE:RE:RE

Blacks are blacks. I don't see greys, or purple hues. Great contrast, and great display.
for a 720p display its pretty vibrant and good colors.

Tested in darkness, zero light comes out when screen is black. It is actually funny, the screen completely disappears although you know it's on.
The black level is very good on the S7, but enabling the "blue light filter" severely degrades it. I assume that's done for those who experience eyestrain from bright text with a perfectly black background, but I would like to see that as a separate setting for those who just want to attenuate the blue colors a little while still having the best black level.
