I'm developing app that allows to hide soft keys without modifying the system and without reboot. In only hides soft keys and leaves notification bar intact. After hiding soft keys I replace them similar auto hiding bar with Back, Home, Recent Apps and Menu buttons.
It does NOT modify system files. If something unplanned happens, just reboot your device and it will restore your stock navigation bar.
Unique Features:
* Hide soft keys on any rooted device (Phone UI only).
* Auto hiding navigation bar replacement - swipe trigger upwards to show it.
Differences to other status bar hiding apps:
* Does not remove notification bar
* Does not modify system
* No need to reboot
* Stock Notification panel and settings panels are fully working
* Stock recent apps list is fully working
* No problems with receiving phone calls

I'm collecting new ideas for future updates
0.93:
- Added Google Now button when Home is hovered. Added animation.
- Added option to hide QuickNav bar when empty space on bar is pressed.
- Added option to keep/hide QuickNav bar when pressed anywhere else on scren.
- Added option to delay bar hide after pressing soft button. Pressing new button resets delay.
Will this work on my nexus using 160 dpi for tablet mode??

Doesn't work on my XP. I get a double navigation bar. And what's the difference between this and pie controls or lmt launcher. They both work better then this app.

1) CM is not supported yet. Stock roms and PA are supported.
2) App allows to hide navigation bar on stock rom without loosing notification bar and without modding the system.
3) Quick NavBar from this app or Pie is matter of taste. I prefer bar as it allows to execute multiple Back's, or click multiple buttons, but even if you like Pie you can use app to hide soft keys and disable Quick NavBar.

Only Phone UI is supported at the moment, but N7 with just notification bar usable and soft keys hidden looks cool. I have N7 myself.
0.94:
- Theming. Select any PNG for buttons, for example: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1413582
- Shortcut to show Quick NavBar. If you like Quick NavBar, now you can disable trigger and use GMD Gesture Control to show it.
- Short Google Now button delay.
- Button spacing slider
- Trigger color picker and transparency slider.
- Support for devices without soft buttons - Galaxy Note's and similar phones.
- Changed auto hide delay slider to milliseconds.
I bought the PRO version trough the app with one google sync account, but when i use two google accounts to sync in my nexus 7 the app lock PRO features and only reconize my second google account. I bought the pro version with the first account and i can't switch to this account when i click to unlock PRO version. How can i fix this without delete one of my accounts?
0.95:
- Trigger now auto hides (become transparent) in full screen apps like YouTube, video and games. You can still show Quick NavBar with swipe in full screen.
- Added built in themes: NEXUS, NEXUS2, GALAXY, XPERIA, RAZR, HONEYCOMB
- Custom... theme - user can select custom images for buttons.

I think you need to setup same google play account on your second user. I just use standard Google Play api .
Works great on my 1st Gen N7 with 4.3, but a number of apps (including Chrome) don't display app thumbnails properly in the stock app switcher while this is enabled. They appear as a black box with a few UI elements visible. Disabling AutoHide immediately corrects it. Works lovely otherwise.
If I enable immersive mode it disables Nova's "swipe down to open notifications" though swipe up for app drawer still works.
Disabling immersive mode makes it right again...
Does anyone have suggestions as to how I can keep immersive mode but have the swipe down notifications?!
Hi,
I am using SideControl to navigate in immersive mode so I would like to disable PIE as well as the navigation bar showing up when swiping from the bottom.
So swiping up from the bottom touch area should bring me back to the home-screen. However, when enabling PIE, it obviously brings up PIE, when disabling PIE it brings up the navigation bar..
So how can I disable both?!
Thanks a lot!
You can't.
We wouldn't implement a feature that removes all navigation options
Maybe place pie on the left edge of the device

You can try disabling the navbar in build prop by adding qemu.hw.mainkeys = 1
This way you can hide the navbar without the need for immersive mode (and thus pie).

Hi!
Thank you so much!!! This solved my problem!!
Thru terminal emulator I enabled Full Immersive mode which works as advertised.
settings put global policy_control immersive.full=*
However, nav bar hides fairly quickly and there are times I'd like it to remain visible for a bit longer.
Is there a nav bar tweak while in Full Immersive where you can keep nav bar visible until you want to hide it, without drilling into settings? My first though was long press on gray area to temp disable immersive would be cool.
Is there something I may have missed to do this?
Tks
I'm at my wits end.
No idea what I've done. My status/notification bar automatically hides itself. Usually it's hidden on home screen only which is how I like it. Now, it hides everywhere and I have fullscreen gestures on so I swipe to go back, recents etc.
Android version 10
One UI version 2.1
Running Nova Launcher.
Nova settings: Look and Feel>Show notification bar On, Look and feel>transparent notification bar Off, transparent navigation bar On
Android settings:display>fullscreen apps>everything is set to auto, display>easy mode off,
Notifications>status bar>show notifications > 3 most recent. Each option behaves the same
Notifications>do not disturb Off
I think that's all the relevant settings.
How I'm used to it: status bar hides on home screen, open to app drawer or any app and it's displayed whilst in said app.
Cheers.
Just uninstalled Nova. Behaviour is still the same.
Have restored from backup now
