Same. Literally sitting here wondering why.
Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
Yup. Same here. I had high hopes for it outlasting the Note 9. Still hoping it will settle.
But typically on my Note 9, one hour of screen time equalled 10% of battery usage. With the Note 10+ one hour of screen time uses about 15% of battery.
I hope it settles a bit and maybe upcoming updates will help.
I've lost 10% battery since I posted 50 mins ago. Though screen was on all of it pretty much.

Could be carried over from the note 9. Going to find an app to help me discover it
Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
Today has been my best day, so there's hope it's getting better. But I still think my Note 9 was a bit better.
I've been updating, installing and testing a lot of apps, so my phone runs about 10% down for each hour of on screen time, but there are few postings about disabling some programs that you don't use, that made difference in battery use. For example I don't even have facebook account and facebook was hapily running 2 or 3 services in the background (collecting data maybe), until I disabled it. So debloating should be part of your phone setup, like it or not.
Phenomenal battery on firs day. Note 10+ exynos. 1/2 day 4g.

My battery is pretty crappy for such a large battery
I use Package Disabler Pro. Based on Gsam battery monitor my battery consumption on average sits at 60%. I have same set up same apps on my Note 9 and consumption is at 27%. Figured I start a thread specifically for the T-Mobile variant. I will say that I'm pretty pleased with the battery life thus far. I hated having to give up the ease of some functionality just so my Samsung OG Epic 4G could make it through the day. Meaning, turning off bluetooth, live wallpaper, wifi, etc.
I feel like I haven't had to do that even though there is a battery saver mode already. I'm currently sitting at 54% and it's been a day since taking it off the charger.
I currently have all the bells and whistles going. Live wallpaper and facial recognition to unlock. S-Pen detection and the whole 9. Anyhow, just wanted to see what everyone else is getting.
I'd be happy with 6 hours screen on time
i had the galaxy s3 before the note 2 and i have noticed huge battery improvements
I was briefly reading through the manual and saw this:
Do not wait until your battery is completely depleted before
charging your device. Repeating this process of a complete
discharge and recharge can over time reduce the storage
capacity of any battery.
Pg 15
just thought I'd pass it along. I usually run my battery all the way down and let it die before recharging:

So I decided to do what the manufacturer recommends when it comes to the battery, you know, charge it fully then discharge it. So I pulled it off the charger at 6am at 100%....moderate to heavy usage all day as I just unwrapped it, went to bed at 76%...so i turned on navigation and opened up a movie on Netflix hoping that would drive the battery down. I woke up at 56%! Myvold note would be dead, but this thing just keeps going! Christmas have mercy, this thing is amazing!

Yea man,Samsung did a phenomenal job this time around with the battery .I came from the i717 and I am so happy about battery life now!!!!
agreed. I was skeptical about the battery life reviews prior to purchasing and with a larger display and faster processor I figured no way any of this could be true. Coming from Galaxy SII that could not make a 6 hour day of use without being tethered to a PC and going out with anything less than a full charge was a recipe for disaster.
I can go a full day browsing and playing music on my Note II and not drain the battery.
Battery life is amazing. I have to really try and kill it to get it dead inside of a day.

It's not too hard to kill the battery on this monster. You can do a few things to really get the battery down, such as actual gaming, watching movies, and a lot of web browsing. Outside of that, it's really difficult to kill this battery under 24 hours. I have had very limited usage on my phone over the holiday. I am up to 77+ hours of battery time and a little over 3 hours of screen-on time and still have 7% battery left! If someone put a gun to my head and asked me to truthfully tell them when's the last time I had a phone other than the Note II, that could last 3 days without a charge, someone better call a really good clean-up crew!
I love the battery life, but I'm thinking about getting an extended battery just for the heck of it.

I too am quite surprised by the battery life offered by the Note II. This thing simply smokes any other phone I've used in terms of how long I can get out of a single charge, it's really impressive. I'm used to plugging my phone in every 6-8 hours on a day of heavy usage even with power saving mode turned on, whereas the Note II seems to be able to go pretty much all day and even then some depending on the usage.
I have the s3, but two of my good friends both have noteII and the first thing they both mentioned to me about the phone is the battery life! After being around one for a full day with much usage, I must agree it is very impressive for such a big screen!

Check the battery stats for "gpsd". Mine started draining after updating to 4.1.2. It appears (for me at least) that the Samsung "find-your-phone-if someone-steels-it" was behaving badly.
If this is the case for you. Switch the service/function of and notify Samsung.
How many hours do you get when your battery is draining fast?
My stock phone started to drain fast as well. Within 6 hours unplugged I see myself having only 60 percent remaining with barely an hour screen on time. I tried to narrow it down to a rogue app but it seems the OTA was more plausable and easier to blame lol
Now back to using Jedi again.

TBH I don't even believe anymore what those updates "may" do to the device.
Some people are happier with 4.1.2 than 4.1.1 and otherwise.
Me and my co-worker bought a note 2 on the same day and update it to 4.1.2 a few days ago. We tested both devices on 4.1.1 and we were about the same on battery drain (well +/- 1%). After the update he says his battery is better while I am about 3% off his usage. We both tested the phone in exact same manner for 8 hours straight. We switched the batteries and we had almost the same exact result.
It also depends on how you use your phone, where you keep it (colder ambient temperature=bad for battery etc.) even some market updates may eat up some percentage.
Just today we discovered in about 4 hours that listening to music @ 50% (him) against me @80% drains 9% extra more power. So in the end a few % more or less it is starting to become a bigger and bigger BS.
Or it might all come to the quality of the device build or battery build in the end.
I've got to say, battery life is pretty bad with this phone. I bought it brand new yesterday so not sure if it needs to condition itself or not but I came from a LG G2 which has a 3000mah battery, which is slightly smaller than this but battery life was far better. Granted the screen was slightly smaller but still. Is there any Roms that improve battery life but still relatively stock?

Like I said the battery easily last 24 hours with medium to little use but it dies fast while using the screen on, I'm seeing others with everything on like GPS, NFC and al the touchwiz things with their brightness up getting far better on screen time than me with everything off and brightness dimmed
Any suggestions appreciated. Anyone try an extended battery yet ?

Stock rooted, I was getting about 24 hours per charge with about 6-8 hours of screen time.
I just recently installed Faux123's kernel and enabled the Intelliplug and Intellithermal drivers, now I'm getting about 60 hours per charge.

Well my actual battery just must not of been created equal with other phones because after tweaks I'm getting better battery life but only about 5 hours screen time and I have everything turned off with screen on 35% so I don't know :/. I'll check that kernel out.

Well if that is the case your battery life isn't terrible. 24h with 5h SOT and 24% life isn't bad at all. Its not great but it is far from terrible.

I'm just using the stock ROM, rooted with the Kingo Root app. Installed TWRP and then Faux Kernel (hltetmo-faux123-003u)
Be warned, TWRP did trip the Knox counter to 0x1. I had to install Knox Disabler so it would stop complaining.
I was getting about 24 hours per charge, until remembered about the FauxClock app and enabled the Intelliplug driver and Intellithermal manager. About this time, I also installed Advanced Task Killer after going without it for a few years.
Screen brightness is on auto, WiFi and mobile data are both on constantly. I have not had to make many calls though, so I'm not sure how this may affect battery life...
So far, I haven't noticed any decrease in performance. Right now I've been on battery for 30 hours and I have 45% left.

Because of adjustments... Custom ROM and kernel, Screen is at 35%, gps and all location services off, NFC off, all the phones extras like air gestures multi window etc are off, I use greenify to freeze apps and I have most Google syncs off and I'm only able to achieve this. I know a lady who knows nothing about phones and has everything/feature on the phone turned on with full brightness and gets 15.5 off charge with 5.5 screen on time by the time she's at 30%. I don't get it.
Edit- I should note I made this post while stock. Because I heard phenomenal things about this phones battery and was quite disappointed.

Signal strength and the binning of your CPU could be differentiating factor. Reading into other people's experience too much can lead to disappointment.
