Hello! I'd like to know how I can go back to Oreo, I have pie on the August patch. I have problems with battery drain and with the front camera (over exposes photos) are not taken the same as you see in the preview.
I can't go back with Odin, I get a problem with the bit
Hey there Brandox0, try the instructions in this link, it sure helped me out downgrading.

As everyone should, although I tried and it worked. I had plenty of issues with Pie back then, the worst being huge battery drain issues, as well as bigger charging times, so I decided to rollback to Oreo using sammobiles updated oreo version and Odin in order to flash it. Had no problems ever since and everything works fine. Backup your data before you do it though, if you do it. Also, using Frija's downloader is a better idea, since it's faster.

wow! thats cool that you were able to get it done. Weird, but cool. Waas it the same bootloader version? if so, that would explain it, but just odd that an oreo and pie version would cohabitate on the same bootloader.
Also Frija and SamFirm are GODSENDS when it comes to firmware downloading. They are at least 4x faster than sammobile

I honestly don't remember the details about the bootloader :/ but it was pretty straightforward. And yes, Frija would definitely saved me a couple of hours downloading the files.. if it existed!

the Frija tool is relatively new. Samfirm has been around for quite a while. They both do the exact same thing and are awesome LoL

Yes. Download the KDZ from this thread, then go to the below thread and download LGUP and follow the directions to flash the KDZ to upgrade your phone.

Thank you for the info. How is the battery life in 25A compared to 24C? I saw mixed comments.
Also, if I flash the update following the instruction, I would lose all my files on my phone, right?

There should be some options in the app, one called REFURBISH and one call UPGRADE. Choosing UPGRADE will just upgrade with all data intact as if you were taking an OTA update.
As for the battery life, I can't say that I noticed any substantial increase or decrease in battery life. If I had to lean one way, I would say that battery life improved, but only a little.

Can I go from 13b straight to this if I want to through the upgrade option? Or should I get the incremental upgrades in between?

What did you ever end up doing? I'm on 13b root and don't know what my upgrade path is while keeping root and exposed.
No root on MM. Hence no path.
Anyone flash the newest ota? Any differences?
Just updated yesterday. I was hoping it would finally be on 5.1.1 but don't see any difference. Still had the annoying priority notifications and heads up notifications. Glad to see someone else is still squeezing life outta their note 3.
Is there a root out for this firmware yet?

There are a lot of users out there otherwise this update wouldn't have happened. They need to have a certain amount of users to justify updating. I'm glad as this phone is still a beast, and going strong.

Root works like any other recent version. Just look in the threads for the method you want. If it worked at least for four versions ago, it should still work now.

You don't need to use kingroot. Just flash TWRP via download mode and flash SuperSU.
This is really great! What security update does it have? It would be really great to have a deodexed version. I tried on the previous

The firmware version is great. Custom roms usually come deoxed. Try magma ux build
I may have bricked the chooch out of my s7 active was wondering if someone can give me the latest version or a backup of the latest version haha (tried to install oreo) NRD90M.G891AUCS2BRC1 is the build number
For bootloader 2, I think the latest full ROM available is BQD4:
https://cloud.mail.ru/public/BGy7/gKs4xzhRE/firmwares/Nougat/G891AUCS2BQD4_7.0_all.7z
Warning, this only applies if you are still on bootloader 2 and haven't gone up to the latest version 3.
YO thanks for the quick reply the room my phone wants
G891AUCS2BRC1 that'd be the latest official update
I guess you need to install BQD4 above, and then work your way up with the OTA files on that cloud page to reach BRC1.
Only issue is the bootloader Is locked so I can't downgrade it to brc1 lol the bra update just came out a couple days ago ,thanks man for helping me out by the way very cool of you

No problem man, I hope it works out for you.
The thing with the bootloader is that it has been on version 2 for quite a while, but in the most recent updates it became upgraded to version 3. You can see it in the file names. For example G891AUCS2BRC1 is still on version 2 while the most recent full Nougat ROM G891AUCS3BRD1 upgrades bootloader to version 3 with no turning back after that, as far as I know.
Hi,
I just got an S9+ and I really don't like One UI, and I've seen lots of tutorials on how to downgrade to Oreo, though for me I keep getting stuck at recovery.img in Odin and I don't know why. I have tried both BTU and VOD firmware (not sure if my phone was locked or not and I'm in the UK) and nothing works. Please help.
Thanks,
Marco

So Odin isn't kicking up an error, it just gets stuck on recovery.img every time no matter what I firmware file I try. I am starting with the latest Android Pie One UI firmware and downgrading to Android 8.0 Oreo using firmware from samfrew.

thats why i was asking for the firmware version youre on because it would have told me if it was a U or an F LoL. which is totally different from a F and a U (get it? F U?) bad joke... anyways, the F might be able to roll back, but the U for sure is not. Im not well enough versed to go much past this point as i am of the belief that you cannot downgrade, but i could be wrong and dont want to discourage you. Anyways, the entire firmware version youre on and the one youre trying to go to would be helpful. You cant just say "the most recent" because there are many versions of "the most recent" version. Absolutely not trying to mock you or anything, but trust me when i say to post up entire firmware versions, its helpful to those who come to this thread and would like to help out, but dont have the info they need in order to do so

the bootloader you have on your phone is version U6 and the one youre trying to flash is S2, thats 4 revisions back and im sure thats part of the trouble youre having. Im going to have to look at downgrade procedures in order to find out if its even possible. Kinda surprised that someone else hasnt popped in here such as @The Mad Scientist

here is the thread discussing how to do it, but the examples in the guide show far older bootloaders than what youre running. you said that youve seen tutorials on this, do you have any links?
also, the baseband of your phone is from Germany, have you tried a German 8.0?

Two things, 1 that link is the exact one I used first and second wow I never knew I will try a German Android 8.0 thank you do you know what code those ade? (E.g. BTU or XEU idk what these codes are called)
here is the most recent German 8.0
https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/g...e/SM-G965F/DBT/download/G965FXXS2BRL3/249034/
also, if Odin stalls at initializing, then its probably not interfacing with your phone properly. Does it show a device listed as "COM:#"? that pound sign is going to be a number, doesnt matter what that number is, just as long as Odin says "COM:3" or "COM:733" in that little box below the big one in the upper left hand corner

these phones are a major learning curve, thats for sure. Ive been rooting and modding phones since the Droid Incredible and HTC Evo (the original evo) days and its just a different world, which makes sense because these phones are asked to do sooooo much more than the old school smartphones ever did. Anyways, those 3 letter codes are called CSC's. "Consumer software Customization" is what they technically call it, but ive ever only heard them referred to as "country specific codes" which makes more sense as theyre bespoke to a country.

Hello community!
Around three weeks ago I finally installed the Android 10 update on my A70. Sadly, the battery got really worse right away. I did give it some time to get better, and it seem to work at first, but with the latest update everything just went downhill. Like, the options say that it will last over a day or something, but even with normal to no usage I can see it droping down rather fast. Honestly do not want to have any more of this.
So, can someone help me with going back to Android 9? Seemed to work for most people and it also was fine for me when I still had it. What info do I need and how do I do it?
Using Odin is not really the issue, but I am kinda lost with finding the right android 9 version for my A70.
Thank you in advance for any help!

Well you need to check the bootloader version in the Firmware Code P/E A705MNXXS5BTJ2
The Number its the bootloader version and the Red Letter next to it is the version of Android
A = 9.0
B = 10.0
It says:
A705FNXXU5BTJ4

You should look at the 'U5' part its the bootloader version which u can upgrade not downgrade. Also since u need to downgrade to android 9 u should look for the 'B' to be 'A' which stands for major update.
So u need A705FNXXU5A__ to downgrade to android 9
Also make sure to download the correct variant of your phone (csc)
And while flashing use home_csc not csc because csc formats data, or backup and do a clean flash (recommend).
