Is anyone else finding it really difficult to remove the s-pen? I find I have to push the button in quite deep before it clicks requiring a fingernail to do it. With the tip of my finger alone I cannot press it in enough to click

Definitely not easy
Nope pretty easy for me.
I had a note 8 with a rhinoshield case. As a tad hard because the cutout.

Do you have to use a fingernail or the tip of a finger is sufficient to get it to click?
I've not had any issues at all with it. No different than any of the Note 9s or Note 8s I've had. I've had several... I can never settle on a color, LOL.
I just hope this one stays in better. My Note 9 fell off a bench at the gym and the SPen fell out. If it wasn't bright yellow, I might not have seen it. It happened a couple times, actually.

Do you have 512gb variant ? In My 512gb variant Spen is very difficult to remove and insert into phone. But in 256gb variant it is quite easy to use. In fact 256gb variant spen feels like it will fall off soon.

Yes I have the 512GB variant. Hmmm not good if it varies like that!
No struggle on mine. It's a slighty more snug fit than my note 9 but that's actually a good thing. I've had my spen pop out on my 9 dropping it.

Not really an issue for me but it is very polished and slippery
Phew. I thought my phone had an issue. It did actually get better though with use. I tried it several times and eventually it got easier to remove. Probably because it's still new.

ive 2 512s and one 256. pen feel;s the same in both. ive tried with a spigen case on all 3 and with then naked--no difference.. all easy to remove like the note 9 before it...
Easy to remove here. Same as on the N9.
My SPen is a very tight fit too. When I push the button it pops out a bit as normal but then I have to get my nails around the end to pull it out because it is VERY tight for approx 1.5 cm. Similarly when pushing it back into the phone the last 1.5 cm is a very tight fit. It has not loosened with use.
My old Note 8 had a super smooth SPen. You pushed the button, it popped out a bit and was then simple to remove with zero friction. My father has a Note 8 and his is just like my N8.
I bite my nails and can use my thumb to click then pull it out even in a case, I would assume if you can't it's likely a fault.
personally I would check for gunk in the pen port.
I have the 512GB 5G version. Without a case I can use my thumb or finger. But with a case I have to use my fingernail or thumbnail. In either case it comes out without any problems.

My note 8 Spen is hard to pull out, I have to click it with my nail tip of the finger multiple times just to extract.. it's very stuck to it
I tried to lubricate it but nothing changed I think the piston has shrivled
I think this is the result of more than 2500+ times I took out the pen, and for every time I just playing to the piston click on it multiple times so maybe at total it passes 10,000?

Okay, this is very annoying.
The rubber tip of my s-pen broke off!
I now have to write much more 'vertical' because now the tip of the spen is quite flush with the rest of the pen.
I think I'm going to have to superglue something to the end, it's too blunt now.

plastic isn't going to scratch the screen. Otherwise, all the note 1's users would have been ripping their screens to shreds.
I am pretty sure s-pens are not cheap too. I wonder if I can get a new one under warranty somehow.
I don't even use the s-pen all that much, so I might just live with it.
- Frank
Shouldn't the S-Pen be covered by the same warranty the phone has? This site does say one year warranty: http://samsungfulfillment.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=69

Hrm. Now that you mention it - I never actually took a close look at the tip of the stylus before, so I have no idea if it was ever on there at all.
is it possible to replace the stylus/s-pen tip/nib?
does anyone know where I can get new ones?
mine is showing signs of wear.
I believe with the Note10" it comes with spare tips in the box. My note2 didn't come with spare tips.

The nib for the Note 2 s-pen is not replacable but if you have an s-pen for the Note 10.1 it will work with the Note 2 but will not fit into the Note 2 slot.
i bought one, made in china, less than $10

I'm trying to use my Bamboo feel on my 2014, but it's off by an uncomfortable amount. Is there a fix for this? Will there be one?
if it's like the note 8 then, not without kernel source. on the note 8 you can't calibrate or change anything without editing the kernel. you may be able to pop off the button and adjust two potentiometers there and adjust your offset. my feel registers perfectly without adjustment..

looks like I lied to you. I've been using my feel perpendicular to the screen so I saw no offset. holding it naturally and drawing it's about a mm off to the bottom right. I may check to see if I can adjust tje offset with the pots, but it may mess up the offset with my windows tabjets.

I'm assuming you're also using a non-standard pen (ie bamboo or something)? My situation is just as you say. It's about a mm off to the bottom right. I said it was uncomfortably off.. but that might have been an exaggeration. I"m using it now to do my calc homework and it's not bad, but I'm getting into drawing and ti's going to be a little troublesome there.
If you find a way to fix it let me know. Thanks.
mine actually says it's for galaxy note and devices with wacom digitizers. it's a w300UK something. unless there's another one floating around mine is supposedly made for it. good thing about the windows tablets is that i can calibrate pens, so if i adjust any pots it should be able to just run calibration again on the win tabs.

Do you think taking the tip out and gently grinding it down on the end that isn't being used to write might help correct the offset a little?

Not sure if the pen body is shorter or if the nib is shortened.
You could use a fingernail emery board but what ever you use if you take to much off you may not be able to get the nib out.
2mm = 5/64 inch or 0.0787401574804 inches.

Besides the nib being shorter I don't see why this one would definitely work better than the one that I have. My bamboo is also advertised as a s-pen designed for the galaxy series.

is it possible a firmware update will fix this?
I have the same pen, and I am returning it. the "2" version is smaller on the taper part of the pen. That maybe the missing distance required for proper alignment. I gave the pen a week or so, and I have decided that the offset is way too much to live with. If there is anyone that has tried the new version, I would love to hear your thoughts on it.

Same here. In another thread someone has said that the Microsoft surface Stylus worked with the 2014 with no offset, although the cursor doesn't register when you hover it above the screen. Last I heard we were wondering if air command and other hover features still worked.

I bought it and air command and cursor Work, there is a slight offset if you hold the pen at an angle. There's no offset if you hold it straight up I also don't like the included hard nib, I'm scared of scratching the screen. The eraser Works well and its more pressure sensitive than the S-pen

That is similar to the feel, vertically there no offset. I will probably give it some time and e-mail wacom before buying the other version.

I ordered the "2" version of the Bamboo Feel directly from Wacom's site and just got it. It works MUCH better than the widely available version (which I got from Amazon). As you said the tapered part of the pen is shorter, and I am able to write at an angle with minimal if any offset. I am able to make precise drawings without having to either hold the pen vertically or trying several times to get accurate lines. Also, so far I'm noticing far less random squiggles at the end of strokes that I was getting with the normal Bamboo feel. I'm happy I got this.
I ordered the Bamboo Feel on Amazon and everyone is right, in LectureNotes I had to make a 14 pixel offset to the left with that stylus. I am returning the Feel 1 and getting the Feel 2 from Wacom as noleafclover has posted. Thank you for the suggestion.
Forgive me if this has been covered elsewhere, I searched and found nothing - Anyway - Does anyone else have a sticky s-pen? I have this tablet, coming from a Note 8.0, and if I use that s-pen on the 10.1 it's fine, just like writing on glass, but using the one supplied with the 10.1 it's like writing on soft plastic, there's a lot of inertia between nib and glass. At first I thought I'd left a screen-protector on and after spending 10 minutes trying to pick the glass off the front realised there wasn't one. Hopefully my s-pen will wear-in in time but did anyone else have the same "problem"?

And thanks again, there were indeed, 7 more, including 2 hard ones which are perfect for me. I can't imagine anyone wanting the drag you get from the original (and 5 spares) but each to their own...

The orignial nibs have a feel much more like the drag of a pen or pencil on paper and I much prefer it as it makes controlling the pen much easier. A hard nib feels like it's skittering over the surface of the glass and is most unsatisfactory.
Fortunately for both of us, we get to choose which one we prefer.

I appreciate that but I think the one I had was a bit too sticky, almost like crayon on paper, I might try some of the others to see if they're all the same.
I have to say that I also prefer the hardtips, allows me to write faster. I noticed that when the screen is very clean the friction on the softtips is pretty noticable. Once the screen has a few fingermarks on it, it goes easier because the oil/sweat acts as a lubricant. The hardtips aren't affected that much by the surface conditions on the screen.

at the moment, no.
the cover plastic said don't put anything on the screen,
the warning during setup said don't put anything on the screen,
the website care instructions say don't put anything on the screen,
yet there i was standing at a samsung experience store being asked if i wanted to buy a protective screen cover for the front, main, and back of the phone. i was confused to all hell.
after a bunch of back and forth, the workers at the store said that the warnings "mean to say" dont use an adhesive screen protector. the one they sell is applied with a spray solution.
my last question to them was "will it void my warranty?", and unfortunately, their answer was "no, it SHOULDN'T void your warranty".
once i heard that type of careful wording, i knew they had no idea what they were talking about, even the manager ( since this purchase was expensive, they had a manager overseeing it).
as of right now, i am still quite careful of how hard i press the buttons and what conditions i bring out the phone in.
if i start to see scratches, i might consider the main screen proctector, but for now, i will keep it as is.
sorry for the long reply. lol

Could you post oictures... I bought the Olixar one but I'm hesitant to put it on...
I have installed 2 different types and this one has been the easiest to install, I have removed 2 of them so far and no residue left behind by the screen protector.
See attached pics of my phone with the screen protector applied. (I did mess up a bit and left couple of small bubbles in there and top left was due to me placing a sticker to remove a dust particle)
This is the one that i bought

PS. The fingerprint and some of the marks you see are not visible to the naked eye, Camera enhances them a bit and makes it look worst than it actually is.

i would hold off. if you've already spent that much money on other devices, theres no point being in such a rush.
the new year is here already. pay the remaining off or sell it somehow, have money ready for the new fold 2 (not the clam shell flip phone) if it comes out later this year.
good luck!
Been reading up on both. does anyone have both? Also looking for a case to hold the pen. Looks like we are all waiting for a few places to come out with one that is good.
Excited to get mine. will be here on Thursday.
I don't have both, but the fold SPen is the perfect size in my opinion. I was expecting it to be approximately the same size as the note 20 ultra pen so I ordered the pro model as well. I've since canceled the pro pen order as the fold pen is perfect for what I need. I use it to make notes and navigate on the inner screen.
I own the Fold Edition s pen. I really don't need the added functionality of the Pro model pen on my Fold as I already own other s pen devices with said capabilities. Also, the size of the Pro pen doesn't seem right, doesn't seem comfortable to hold do to its length.
Here are my stylus pens for my Tab S7 Plus, Fold3, wife's Tab S6 and her N20U.
I have both. Was a mistake in ordering.
I only wanted the fold edition.
The pro is thicker and longer. More of a sit down and maybe draw vs the fold edition which is more portable to me.
The only added for the pro is bluetooth. But even when i had my note i never used the bluetooth parts.
I have the fold edition and am waiting on my pro to arrive. I use a ton of the Bluetooth features, along with the basics. I purchased the fold edition, only because the pro wasn't in sock at the places I looked. I will be returning the fold edition and case combo as soon as my pro arrives..
The S pen Pro is significantly larger than the Fold edition and will not fit in the case for Flip cover with the detachable Fold edition S pen
I have both S Pens and for the Fold 3 the simpler cheaper S Pen is fine. The Pro does not seem to have a smaller stylus size than the S Pen with Tab S7 + so not sure why one would want the Pro.
I got both just because they were "free" with credits. One for using at home (Pro), and the other for on the go (Fold Edition) my Fold Edition arrived with the TERRIBLE flip case, but I'm still waiting on my Pro.
I Have the pro... strangely enough it will not connect to my fold 3. (im using nova & Microsoft launchers with the screenscut down to 48 maxhz adaptive for battery)

I am often annoyed because the S-Pen Fold edition touches the screen, but nothing happens. I'm not even sure if this is on purpose by the software or a bug. Often happens with buttons, like the 4 buttons on top of the notification center (above the quick settings toggles)

I am often annoyed because the S-Pen Fold edition touches the screen, but nothing happens. I'm not even sure if this is on purpose by the software or a bug. Often happens with buttons, like the 4 buttons on top of the notification center (above the quick settings toggles)

It does appear to be behaving for me. I'm able to select all four icons described

It's difficult to explain. I can touch them too and they work, when you tap on it with the S-Pen "firmly", but if you just touch it without pressing it won't work lot of times for me. I don't know how to explain that easily. This just happens with some UI elements, that's why I kinda think that it's intentional. But I now this never happened with my Note 10+ and a "real" S-Pen

Defo sounds odd. I'm not sure if we can alter spen sensitivity or not can we?
