good morning
I have a problem with my HD2 and I thought I ask before, the internet explorers in general, IE and Opera and Opera 10, Uzard... etc,, they don't open the internet page directly , not even if I wait 4 or more than 5 minutes for the page, especially facebook, and I checked our network in Syria and I was sure that there is no site that is locked or has a filter or I don't know what to call it, My little brother has a Nokia Exprss Music cell phone and the browser opens much much more faster than my HD2 , and no problems at all, I wanted to ask if there is a way or a small software that I should install to make the surfing come faster or at least just open, Opera Mini does not work either, Mozat also only login then a blank white page, XDA Facebook V4.8 does not open at all , it opened only one time then never opened, I used a fast internet line ADSL when I connected the HD2 to my Laptop through WiFi but still no use,I know that there is a connetion cause the weather in the sence works but when you come to the Explorer itself alot of pages won't open, then, just to be sure and to leave no pleace to doubt,, I purchaced a 3G SIM and used it in the HD2, still same problem the internet is bad and slow, I checked the connection section in the device and all settings are ok but still the problem exists!!! I need an advice if I should use Android on the HD2 or still Keep using Windows Mobile 6.5 and what to do???? I currently us Leo V2.3 Rom and it was good so far exept for the internet problem, please if anyone can help or advice I would be thankfull,

Hello. I've poked, googled and searched around trying to find a way to fix this annoying issue.
Long story short: till 2004-2005 Wi-Fi N bands weren't legalized for civilian use in Russia. Now they are and we here still sometimes receive such devices which block usage of those bands. I've faced the same idiocy with Xperia S.
GB worked with channels 1-11 of Wi-Fi N (yet 12-13 should have been available too since Russia != US). Still it was bearable. ICS was the same (I've inquired about this issue a couple of times on the official forum to no avail).
Here the long-awaited JB update comes up (hooray) and bam - Wi-Fi N is blocked. Now if I pull out the sim card and turn on my phone - it will successfully connect to Wi-Fi N network. If I put it in and reboot the phone - the phone will connect to the N network for the first few seconds and then - as soon as it initializes the sim card - it will drop the connection. If I don't enable 'G/N mixed mode' on my home router, it will be sitting with no connection and showing me that N network but it would not connect to it.
Now as I told before I've been searching around internetz and was able to find some lose ends and few possible fixes to this issue.
1. Region code change. Doesn't work. It did before when the phone wasn't able to connect to channels 12-13. But now when N doesn't work at all this fix doesn't help. It looks like the problem lies deeper now.
2. Messing with wpa_supplicant. Works... sorta. I've replaced stock wpa_supplicant file with this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2399391 . It kinda works after that but starts acting up further down the line. E.g. it connects to a N network and everything's cool and dandy BUT when I leave my home and wake up the phone somewhere else I see that it still thinks it's being connected to my home network. It sees the other networks around it at the moment but it doesn't want to choose them as it kinda connected to my home one. Which is nowhere near. And if I get back to my home with the phone in such state - it won't continue to exchange data over my Wi-Fi network. So to fix that I have to turn wi-fi off and then on again but I don't like such a behavior since in my town there are a lot of free wi-fi hot spots around (in public transport, at bus stations, in cafes, etc) and I'd like my phone to choose and connect to open hot spots automatically.
So could someone please shed some light on how all this restricting thing works, what mechanism is responsible for available Wi-Fi modes except region code field in the databases and how do I fix that? (or break it?). I mean the second fix is almost works but it looks like wpa_supplicant wasn't hacked properly. Maybe there are other wpa_supplicant files available?
Thank you!
Edit: forgot to mention that I'm talking here about Xperia S, firmware versions are: JB .200, .211, .96

Yea, I saw few people here from Syria and from some other African countries also and they all had similar problem. Although I didn't know anything about legal status of Wi-Fi N bands in Syria so I've decided to create a new topic.
It looks like this problem is quite wide-spread and before Sony officially acknowledges it, I hope we'll get some help from devs around here. I wonder if the devs actually look through troubleshooting branch of forum. Something tells me they don't.
I mean if there are fixes available it shouldn't be too hard to modify something in the system to get that damn thing working. This wpa_supplicant fix is especially interesting but I can't find any tutorial on how to edit it. Google keeps silence.
Did you find any solution for this problem , because I try many article but no luck .

No man, still nothing. I've put my hopes on Sony, thought they will update. Looks like I was wrong
Hello,
I'm a happy G3 owner, D855, 3Gb/32GB International version. I rooted using IOroot successfully and have done 2 OTA updates since then, currently on 10g, root still on.
I'm having major issues when trying to connect to WIFI routers in cafes/restaurants/hotels, public places in general, whereas my wife's phone and my smartwatch (believe it or not, with its mini antenna in the wrist bands (Omate Truesmart)) connects from the first try.
On the G3, I get "Authentication error" almost always, but it is working properly at my home, my parents house etc.. Only in public places or rather in places where there are a lot of people connected usually.
Does anybody have an idea what to do to solve this issue?
Many thanks for any help/tips
Chris
I do not have same issue but very simillar. Everytime wanna connect to public wifi LG G3 Android 5.0 show up screen with "login into network". Nothing more. Web browser won´t open page with login name and password even own web browser is not openning anyway. It works before Lollipop arrived...
I have the same problem, do you solve it?
You could disable "Show passwords" (Settings / Security) and try again. For some people this appears to work :good:
Hey guys,
FIrst of all: Thanks for maybe helping me.
So my problem is that I have a really annoying WiFi issue with my Galaxy Tab Pro. I installed a cm13 build (Link in that style because I am not allowed to share links...)
Code:
download[B]DOT[/B]cyanogenmod[B]DOT[/B]org/?device=mondrianwifi
a month ago and have one big problem with it. Whenever I want to use WLAN to connect to the internet (or use it on my local network, whatever) it just keeps flapping. It turns on and off and on and off and so on. I thought that it would be related to my home network at first (so that it doesn't get a IP or something like that), but after I checked my DHCP and general network settings and came to the conclusion that it can't be related to that. All other devices in my network are able to get a IP (and go online). When I turn on the WiFi on the tablet and check the network settings I see that it gets a IP but looses it after 1-2 secs. The thing which makes absolute no sense to me is that after a while (turning WiFi off and on again, 3-4 times) it often is able to get and keep a IP address. After that everything works fine - often for 1-2 hours until it looses the IP again and I have to begin with the game of randomness. I checked in the known bugs and could not finde that issue listet there. So I think it is maybe not related to the cm13 build I am using..? Or not even to the device? I don't know. Maybe you can help me - would be helpful enough if someone could tell me which logs I have to check when having a WiFi issue. I am quite new to such problems and don't know how I should start the troubleshooting.
So thanks in advance and greetings,
Maik
