I have installed RR 5.8.5 in which I can apply Smalli Patcher in order to avoid jamp backs while spoofing. Also the compass is not working on this rom and it helps a lot while playing. The rom is very lightweight and the gaming experience is one of the best options for this rom i think.

I'm not spiffing I'm playing straight I'm have nothing against the spoofing but for playing normal you already try the ChypherOS?

I have H-ROM cause i wanted to stay close to stock for LG Apps.
My answer would be whatever ROM with FDE.AI (Magisk) many optimizations to make the device runs smoothly, espacially running games like Pokémon GO. Before using these tweaks I installed other modules but this all in one works like a charm.

Yes it does. Built-in LG Framework and apps like QR. Even some ported from other LG devices.
Video Editor is nice.

Magisk must be installed on your device. Then you will be able to flash modules through the Manager.

Your opinion on ROM + xposed

So I bought this device in order to switch ROMs like I did with my OPO, and then I discovered I won't get the high quality camera if I switch ROMs.
Problem is I get bored without flashing anything...
So I thought about flashing some OOS based nougat ROM but then I'll lose Xposed.
What did you do?
Did you stay on stock mm like I did?
Would love to hear suggestion and your opinion, maybe I'm missing something

I made the switch to nougat from having xposed framework , i had all the best mods and i thought I'd regret it moving to nougat but it's honestly not that bad for a start if you still want to block YouTube ads then you can install a patched version of adfree YouTube for nougat and for the visual UI mods there's substratum which is very decent there's also adaway for adfree browsing which again still works perfect on nougat and the doze mode has been improved alot but as always the choice is yours but I'm glad i switched and besides the Dev of the xposed is working on nougat in his spare time so we will get it eventually , i hope this helps your decision ...

Thanks! this is exactly why I asked this question, didn't know there are patched versions for nougat.
You convinced me to at least give it a try.
Your favorite OOS based ROM? Stock?
There's actually an adblocked and background playback-enabled YouTube app now. You can find it here. Alternatively, you could always give dual booting a try.
Xposed will come next year, forget about xposed on sdk25 this year.
Still on stock mm
Can't live without xposed
Cheers

Adb will work cause sense 7 was based on Slim7
But sense 8 is based on lineageOs.
I forgot tell that this romantic has pretty flashed Pico Gapped and other Gasps which we need to use in regular life and other apps too we use in daily life.... I added these all for better stock. Performance afterglow it's SensesOs not like other NON-SENSE Os

Maybe its a problem with the CM/AOSP stock calling screen.
can you try replacing it with Asus Calling screen?
I loved the rom, too smooth, too great in visuals
i want it to be my daily driver
but only this issue is stopping me
If cant replace the calling screen, i request if you can release seperately the SenseOS Launchers and filemanager and all the other sense apps used in this rom so that we can use this on our stock roms too.

but i suggest you make one using stock rom too as that one will be the most stable as stock is stable
again, one request, can you make a flashable zip for the walkman music app used in your rom. It would be really nice for other roms to get that app.
Another feature request is - Hold recents key to screenshot
Its really handy

Any suggestions for a minimal rom for Zuk Z2?

I was on JDCTeam at 7.1.2, I tried other roms, but they spend a lot of battery even on idle. I tried 3 roms stok, qfil, but they are very heavy, 1.5gb, full of Chinese apps that can not be uninstalled, dialer, contacts, message ... I do not want the Chinese government seeing my data, enough NSA .. I tried to go back to JDCTeam 7.1.2, but the gapps do not open. Now I'm with the 8.0 stok, playing PUBG is very bad, even installing the PUBG Tool the game is full of lag, unplayable. I wanted a small rom, those of 450mb or less, with gapps pico preinstalled, google settings. No battery-draining features, no special launchers, no themes, no wallpapers ... Just the androi stock, like the one that came on the Moto X2. Maybe with the Utouch configuration that comes in the ZUI. Could someone do this? A lot of people just want a simple and light rom. I would like some suggestion of a rom "android stok".

Hi, did you try? Your feedback pls.
I did not install it. In the page asks to install another file before, but does not explain well as.
Getting a minimal ROM below 450MB with pre-installed pico gapps ain't possible for our device.
But cleaner ROMs with very less features :
1. Lineage OS
2. Jaguar
3. Cardinal AOSP
4. Arrow OS
Other ROMs are there may be which I've never tried.
Note : AOSIP is a good ROM but not minimal, it just 1 step behind RR in terms or customization & features quantity, according to your preference I believe you won't like AOSIP.
Also, less size of the ROM file may not mean it has less features & apps. Deodexed ROMs are smaller than odexed ROMs but may have more features & apps pre-installed.
I used Jaguar, it's very good, but it uses a lot of battery. I would go back to JDCTeam 7.1.2, I used it for a long time. But now when I flash that the gapps do not work.
I am now using the stock rom rom 8.0. It's a really bad rom, watching youtube in the chrome while charging the battery makes the apps stall and close. The pubg can not play anymore, because of the legs, nor gfxtool help, is a very poorly made rom. I wanted an Android Zero, a simple rom with google services. But I think I'd better learn how to make a rom.

This is cardinal AOSP that is suggested above. You'll probably like it.

Also search a bit online about "magisk " "Google service doze" "aggressive doze"

Android 9 & Custom ROMs

Hi,
I don't want to get into a debate about which custom ROM is the best. (The one you pick is likely the best for you right?) What I do want to get a handle on is people's experience with custom ROMs and Android Pie.
Is there a custom ROM that has done a better job at integrating the features of Pie after moving on from Oreo, and that currently is at an acceptable useful level?
There are a few out there currently, and they seem to have been working for a bit, but is it worth it to flash a daily driver to a Pie based ROM at this stage, or wait for awhile?
Thanks for your help,
Clay

Yah There are so many roms out there but i will suggest you to go With Pixel Experience
i have switched many roms from last 2 months But whenever i switch I have never get the smoothness that i get from PE
Latest version of PE (https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-5-pro/development/rom-pixel-experience-t3830197) has almost no more bugs and it uses Android 9: PixelExperience_whyred-9.0-20181119-0216-OFFICIAL.zip
It's updated to recent security patches and works great.
Definitely usable for daily uses!
I'm using AOSP Extended Pie. So far, so good. It hasn't blown up my daily driver yet, so <fingers crossed>.

I'm using LineageOS 15.1 as daily driver. Yesterday I tried AOSPExtended Rom 6.0 and Havoc-OS. In my opinion AOSPExtended runs great but I didn't find an privacy manager like LineageOS. As second I tested Havoc-OS. Havoc-OS has implemented privacy manager. But In the Pixel Launcher in Havoc-OS I didn't find a option to deactivate the Google search bar.
But both ROMs looks very great.
OT: For my personal use, I don't want GoogleServices and PixelLauncher. F-Droid and Yalp store is enough for me. For my tests with Havoc-OS, of course, I replaced the Pixel Launcher with another Launcher from F-Droid.
Revolution OS Pie is very smooth and stable and has an awesome battery life
MCaosp best custom ROM Android Pie so far I have tested. Well-balanced. 120k on antutu and lots of drums.

OOS 9.0.2 is the best

Overall best custom rom!!

So, I was tired with RealmeUI and decided to do some experiments with my phone. For the last few days I have been flashing numerous custom ROMs. I'm gonna share my experience with these ROMs. Hope it helps someone decide which one to flash. Earlier this post had some other ROMs mentioned too but I removed them as they were updated recently and I haven't tested them. So, can't provide my review without flashing them.
1. PIXEL EXPERIENCE PLUS & PIXEL EXPERIENCE
This is by far the best custom rom available for this phone. It's been one week and I'm still using it. The UI is buttery smooth. Gaming performance is awesome and battery life is good. The only downside of this ROM is that it doesn't have extra features like the other ROMs. This is purely STOCK. And damn I miss the OOS recorder from Derpfest. I know there's a Magisk module to get the oneplus apps and I did flash it. But the screen recorder was just not there. I tried installing ported apk. But the apk wasn't installed. So I used a app from the playstore- "SCREEN RECORDER". From my point of view this is the best rom for non gamers! I would recommend Evolution X for the gamers out there. I did install only two modules on this ROM - AML and Dolby Atmos!
2. EvolutionX
This is my daily driver now . The smoothness and performance is as good as PE+. But this rom has some extra features which is very essential (to me). If you game a lot and do screen recording, this is the one for you. There's a dedicated gaming mode which turns on automatically when you open games and oos screen recorder. It's a very feature rich rom. The latest version of EvolutionX needs RealmeUI firmware. So flash it first if you're on COS.
3. Havoc OS
Used this ROM for almost two days now and I can tell this is a good ROM. I didn't do gaming though. By the looks of it, I think it will handle gaming just fine. The XDA thread of Havoc is outdated. Join the Telegram Group to get the latest version(which is 3.8). And it needs RealmeUi firmware so flash it if you're on COS.
any bugs in Pixel Exp Plus or should I stick to Realme Ui
I can confirm. Been testing all the three and while I loved them Pe and pe+ are far the best in basic functions like speed, ui, battery, performance. Yet it is true it's very stock android like and missing some extra features but I don't mind for I'm a purist and you can always add extra content, apps, features by downloading and on a rooted device there is no such thing as completely impossible ?
Is there any properly working call recorder in pe+?

Actually, there is one impossible thing- " you can't install the OOS screen recorder (I couldn't). Tried the ported version and the magisk module Oxy-ify. The app just doesn't install.

You have to sacrifice some things. The private safe of realmeui isn't there. You have to use Gcam. Stock camera features(48MP) won't work. Slo mo does work but is kinda useless. The secondary lenses work but the macro is pretty useless I guess.

Well, there will always be stuff that won't install on different ROMs. I tried so hard to get 48 mp on custom ROMs but found out that it's kind of faux yet a good 12 mp gcam shot can be just as sharp and detailed as an oversaturated stock 48 mp shot on stock ROM. So I gave up on it and I don't mind. There are some stuff you can't install but if you're creative enough you can get around them. I'm sure there are good enough screen recorders out there ?

I never cared for the 48MP mode. Even in stock rom I used it only twice. Normal 12MP images turns out better than the 48MP images.
I know there are screen recorder apps available out there. But none of them were as good as the OOS screen recorder so I shifted from PE+ to EvolutionX.!
Best rom, lineageos. But it seems nobody is developing it anymore... But still using it and it's great
Let me use this thread to ask this: is there any custom rom being actively developed, that does not have gapps included? Thanks.

1. DERPFEST
The initial impression of this ROM was great. Performance and battery life was way better than the stock ROM. And the games ran very smoothly(including cod mobile and pubg mobile). And it had great features too e.g. - OOS Screen Recorder. You can't find the app anywhere on the app drawer. It sits quietly in the quick settings. If you don't see it just add from the tiles. But after two days to usage ROM started behaving weird. Occasional lags and stutters in the UI. And some apps were crashing. And sometimes the will go to a bootloop. To get out of the bootloop you have to go into TWRP and flash caches. It is not a solution though as the bootloops would occur again. So I decided to dump this ROM. I didn't know what the reason was. I posted a comment on the post of derpfest but I got no reply. Well, I had installed too many magisk modules, which were useful actually. Viper,ICE sound, Dolby Atmos, Audio Modification Library. Can this be the reason?? Is there something called "Module Overload" exist?

Here I only didn't face the bootloop problem but faced others mentioned above. So I got rid of it before it begins the stucking in bootlogo problem.
3. PIXEL EXPERIENCE PLUS
4. EvolutionX
Been using this for the last few days. The smoothness and performance is as good as PE+. But this rom has some extra features which is very essential (to me). If you game a lot and do screen recording, this is the one for you. There's a dedicated gaming mode which turns on automatically when you open games and oos screen recorder. It's a very feature rich rom. But remember you have to be on ColorOS firmware to install this rom. Just flash the firmware and flash the rom. Don't need to boot into COS.

Evolution X has also a bug, the ported screen recorder doesnt support internal audio recording but great recorder because of 60 fps reolution. Only the default recorder works.
Anyone tried havocOS?
Hi, I was considering installing Pixel Experience plus on my phone. Do I need to have coloros or any specific version of realme ui to install it? I'm currently on Realmeui v11_c.05. I haven't rooted/flashed a recovery yet and plan to do it tomorrow. Should I download coloros before trying to flash this rom?
P.s Thank you for your detailed post, I was quite confused between PE/PE+, evox and derpfest.

Dude, I have been using the ported screen recorder for all of my PUBG recordings and it does support internal audio! Try messing with the settings

You don't have to be on COS for PE+ or EvolutionX. RUI will do the job

So, I was tired with RealmeUI and decided to do some experiments with my phone. For the last few days I have been flashing numerous custom ROMs. I'm gonna share my experience with these ROMs. Hope it helps someone decide which one to flash.
I don't know what's wrong with this post but I can't seem to get the edit option. So I'm writing this in the comments-
"The latest version of EvolutionX doesn't need COS. It needs Realme UI firmware. So, if you're already on RUI don't need to downgrade"

I'd like to hear about havoc too, it sounds like a promising os, but i can't find anything about it, other than the 6-page havoc thread.
