It's not a bug, the data partition is encrypted. It needs to be formatted.

I can't format internal storage because it's not mounted so it just says error

Well that's the whole point. If it was mountable you wouldn't need to Format it.
Just Format it anyway, regardless of the mount errors.

Doesnt it show a cancel option? Then you have to wipe data
Hi, I have the same problem and I have cancelled it but cannot see any .zip or .img file. It said "internal storage(0 MB)" How can I solve this problem?
I'm not 100% sure (don't have this device) but on my phone after installing twrp it is necessary to FORMAT Data......not wipe..
Try FORMATTING the data.
Sent from my [device_name] using XDA-Developers Legacy app

I have tried that but after reboot, volume up+power button does not work. I can't open twrp
I have the same problem. If you open TWRP insert an SD with orangefox recovery and install. You should resolve. Sorry for my bad english

Click on format and type 'yes'. Flash no verity after that and you should be able to boot, I THINK.

Failed to make backup folder with twrp

hello guys ,sorry for my english...i can't do a full backup to my miui rom with twrp , i get the message : " "Can not create '/data/media/0/TWRP' folder (Required key not available)." .see the attached picture ...any help please ?
Format data, then it'll work, or at least that worked for me. Just back your sdcard up through USB first.

is there any other solutions other than format data? i don't want to start from the beginning, reinstalling apps and mods
Hello, for those who face the same problem, for my case, just disable the screen password before making the backup
Nice find. That didn't work for me at the time but I've read it might've been the recovery I was using. Glad you got it going.
sorry for answer late
its happend to me the storage is encripted u must wipe internal storage from wipe->advanced wipe -> internal storage only and swipe to wipe it

Use TWRP that support encrypted instead of these steps.

What do you mean? That their TWRP version is too old and doesn't support encrypted storage? It says "required key not available" so it mean it's recent enough to know about encryption so it's not sure that it's the issue.

Internal Storage

Help me please.
My phone is in a bootloop and twrp cant mount /data. I tried formatting and changing file system but it all failed. I cant flash rom in MiFlash and it says "flash xbl error" or "FAILED (File is too large to download)"
What did you do before the phone went into bootloop? Also did you format on TWRP via Wipe -> Format Data?
just format data and install rom through micro sd if your internal storage not working in twrp

Alright. Im not that experienced with edl. Can you send picture of Wipe -> Advanced Wipe that we can see all of the partitions? Maybe also if you can send pictures of every partitions details by ticking them and then going to "Repair or Change File System" and taking screenshots? Don't know if this is gonna help, but it's worth a try.

Try changing the filesystem of /data to ext4, and then back to f2fs, and then rebooting into TWRP. I've had this problem before, and that worked for me.
