[Q] Bug or Feature ?

Hi folks,
I'm not sure if found a bug or a feature ... however ... since the integration of SuperSU into any custom rom (CM 12 / Liquid Smooth / PA) based on Lollipop, I'm not able to install more then 8 apps alongside Google Play (sd-card / LAN / USB). Exactly after the 8th app installation the "install now" button isn't pressable anymore. The button is not grayed out or something, it simply doesn't react on pressing. Also when i use apps that needs root access, the question from SuperSU appears, but the "grant" button does not react after the 8th attempt. My internal card has 22 GB free, so that's not the cause i think. I've checked all the system security options for a suspect option, but i haven't found anything yet. Installations via Google Play works fine anyway. Under KK based roms there is no such a strange thing, and as i mentioned above, this was after the integration of SuperSU in LL based roms. Does anyone have an idea what it could be ? ...
sincerely,
LP

OK, if OP won't answer this question, then I will...
I performed a dirty flash over the previous version of this ROM, without first removing SU and SuHide. I wiped the cache prior to flashing, but left the other partitions alone. No problems with the flash and the phone rebooted with all apps intact, except for root, as expected.
Reflashed SU, then SuHide after a reboot. All OK, except that the updated ROM will not pass the SafetyNET test. I tried removing and re-installing SU and SuHide, but SafetyNET still fails.
I can live without that since I don't do mobile banking, but I can't speak for all.
Thank you for your work.
can you share the Stock firmware or OTA package? i can't get the OTA update.

I don't really see why anyone should block your account as this is only official firmware.
Not source code or anything like that.
Can you at least share all content of zip file apart from system?

Hi, I join the request that you could share the original firmware, in my case I like a clean installation I do not like the OTAs. And I need to have my SmartPhone unmodified by the apps of the banks and others that detect the modification of system.

I have read that everything is fluid but there is no voLTE support? Will you be able to add voLTE feature? And even dolby or viper preinstalled or patch? And also regular fixes and updates
"Non-hacked" version for SafteyNet check?
Hi!
Great work on the ROM, but it is possible to do a parallel version that is the "pure/unaltered" 7.0 MX ROM with the scripts to provide the appropriate modem file for the phone in question? I could be wrong, but maybe a stock 7.0 will pass SafetyNet, even with a different modem file (IE, China XT1581)?
It seems that at this point in time the only phones that really -need- a modded 7.0 are the Chinese XT1581's since they will probably never receive a 7.0 update, nor will they ever have G-Apps.
How to pass SafetyNet with this ROM
The first version of this ROM (April OTA) happily passes SafetyNet with either SuperSU / SuHide or Magisk installed with default settings.
However, with the second version of this ROM (July OTA), SafetyNet will report a CTS Profile Mismatch with BOTH rooting solutions, regardless of whether you performed a dirty or clean install of the ROM.
To pass SafetyNet, you require a current version of Magisk installed (I used 13.6 beta), which will initially fail the CTS test. You then need to install the Universal SafetyNet Fix module from within Magisk.
SafetyNet should now pass both tests.
PS. As an added bunus, this also changes the Device Certification to Certified within PlayStore settings :good:

Cool!
Since this ROM can't ever be updated via OTA, I assume that this "fix" would be essentially permanent? (or maybe future gApps updates might change the detection methods?)
Also, can you quickly describe the installation process for the latest version of Magisk (it seems that it's installed with TWRP and the an app is needed as well...)
Thanks!

Yep, it's pretty easy on this ROM, assuming that you already have TWRP 3.1.1 recovery installed.
Note that SafetyNet has both server side and local components which test a number of different attributes of your device. The data collected locally is assessed by the Google Play servers which then determine whether, or not, all of the necessary criteria are passed for certification. Magisk attempts to fool the local device component (Play Services) into providing a "clean" data set to the Google servers, so that they certify the device. However, Google keep increasing the scope of these local tests via Play Services updates, so Magisk is in a constant cat and mouse game. Luckily for us, the Magisk developer is far more responsive than Google is, in this respect, so in practice the SafetyNet tests will almost always pass and when they do not, a Magisk update will be quickly released to fix it again.
If you have another root app installed, then you must fully uninstall it first. For SuperSU / SuHide, do the following...
1) Uninstall SuHide first from the Apps Drawer and make sure the icon disappears
2) Go into SU settings and run the Full Unroot option...
3) Say YES to re-installing the stock boot loader...
4) Say NO to re-installing stock recovery
5) Reboot
6) Check that you no longer have any root access
7) Download Magisk 13.6 beta from XDA
8) Boot into TWRP
9) Install Magisk ZIP from TWRP and reboot
10) Run Magisk Manager, then SafetyNet test - this will fail the CTS Profile test
11) Go into Magisk Settings and select Grant for Automatic Response (plus any other options you prefer)
12) Reboot
13) Go back into Magisk Manager then Downloads
14) Download and install Universal SafetyNet Fix
15) Reboot
16) Run Magisk Manager, then SafetyNet test - this should now pass both tests!
17) Verify Device Certification within PlayStore Settings menu (you may need to run a general PlayStore update first)
Done :good:

Z6 Pro official Chinese Stock ROM 11.1.105 and OTA to 11.5.229

Hi all,
I thought it might be useful have a thread dedicated to talking ONLY about official Chinese Stock ROM.
I received my Z6 Pro with a very poor Global ROM, so quickly decided to try the true official ROM, hoping despite its weaknesses it would get far more frequent updates.
Just for reference, here is how I flashed:
Used as a guide the "UNBRICKING / FLASH FIRMWARE LENOVO Z6 PRO L78051" tutorial from boycracked
Official stock roms can be downloaded here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=303091 (CN 11.1.105 'android P' or CN 11.5.229 'Android Q' or even RoW 11.0.405 'Android P')
Required tools and drivers here : https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=303090
Some key steps:
Get phone ready (important) :
Gain access to developer options
Enable USB debugging
Enable unlocking Bootloader (it won't actually unlock it!)
Get computer ready (also important)
Install QDLoader HS-USB Driver 9008
Install latest version of QPST (2.7.474)
Flash with step in boycracked "unbricking Z6 pro" webpage or using this guide here https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/rom-lenovo-z6-pro-l78051-qpst-edl-t3947149
This are additional tips to avoid errors :
Copy/move flash rom file to bin subfolder of Qfil in 'program file' might help resolve errors
Get Qfil ready with recommended settings. Make sure “Erase all date before download” is NOT selected in configuration / firehose.
Connect USB cable
Reboot phone in EDL mode (adb command or press power + both volume buttons), COM port should appear in Qfil as "QDLoader 9008"
As soon as phone reached EDL mode and phone shows in Qfil quickly press Download. If for any reason it did not work, switch off phone again and reboot to EDL.
Ok so that will take you to official CN rom 11.1.105 which is a very stable android 9 rom released sometime in September.
Or CN 11.5.229, which is currently best choice and will keep being updated.
Now get rid of Chinese apps and install play store from the Chinese App Centre and that's it.
WARNING : DO NOT USE GOOGLEINSTALLER APK AND DON'T INSTALL GOOGLE ACCOUNT MANAGER
Googleinstaller.apk is not needed on CN roms, it will install apps that are not longer required. AND it will brick 11.5.x CN rom based phones!
Some users successfully moved to 11.5.x . Everything worked well until he used googleinstaller.apk
All is needed in CN Roms is playstore that is available in Zui App Center. Just in case make sure you don't have google account manager installed before applying OTA to Zui 11.5!
BE AWARE: There are several limitations or bugs in CN roms:
- (IF U-Touch is turned on) Can't use custom Launchers (Nova, Action...). Unfortunately they don't work and will freeze phone, make U-touch crash / no acces to recent apps. [fixed from CN 11.5.269]
- Backup to Google Drive does not work.
- Whatsapp notifications sometime don't appear until you run the app manually. (fix is simply to : (1) white list app in auto run, (2) lock it in app recent drawer, (3) exclude it from battery optimisation and (4) when reboot phone manually launch app so that it sits in ram).
- Some messaging apps' including Whatsapp's notifications won't generate ring or vibration :
FIX: WhatsApp no sound notification fix for CN roms:
- Get Notificon app from PlayStore (here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=notificon.gsy.com.notificon) to trigger sound each time selected apps generate a notification in the bar.
- Works for whatsapp, but make sure you disable the unnecessary notifications there like "Media Playback" otherwise Notificon will ring for no reason and you won't be able to listen to voice memos.
- (IF U-Touch is turned on) Morelocale app (which allows to use languages not included in the ROM) also totally crash ZUI... So rom has to be used in English. CONFIRMED WORKING FROM 11.5 CN ROMS !
How to use MoreLocale to get all your apps to use the language of your choice :
.Get the app from play store here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.co.c_lis.ccl.morelocale
.Enable USB debugging from Developer Options and from a command prompt on PC, type this : adb shell pm grant jp.co.c_lis.ccl.morelocale android.permission.CHANGE_CONFIGURATION
.Everytime you reboot phone, you will need to go to morelocale app and pick the language of your choice!
So really as long as you are ok to fiddle around to tweak stock app and to use English language (or turn off U-touch). ZUI CN is the best official Rom option, if you need to keep bootloader locked.
Since it is untouched stock you will get OTAs to next upgrades:
11.5.269 (Android 10) released mid-January ; it is now a very stable beta release, I used it daily and it works great.
What I noticed:
- fix issues with morelocale and U-Touch.
- Improved photo quality and camera app layout
- Android Q!
- Dark Theme
- Custom launchers now work
- Still no google drive backup / Notificon required for whatsapp sound notifications.
There NOW is a full rom flashable Qfil file available to get directly to CN rom 11.5.229. As BL remains locked and system stock, OTAs will come as and when they are released.
Please report other issues / tips for improvements.
This will no longer be updated as I have now moved to RevengeOS : this is THE Custom rom alternative we were all waiting for. Works 100% great and Lucchetto who created it also managed to port the stock Camera app which means we don't loose the ability to access all cam lenses !
Thanks
Hmmm... Actually Utouch seem to be working great with 11.1.105.
No wifi problem either.
BUT still can't set a language other than English and kind of forced to stick to ZUI launcher.
So as of now phone with Chinese ROM is enjoyable and very powerful, despite room for improvement.
As for ZUK Z2 Pro in the past, official Chinese ROM are far better than any 'global' release... But need some tuning.
PS: I love uTouch
My phone is with CN 11.0.575 and parched with the ZaZz version (The .bat 00_flashrom.bat anywhere), i already have TWRP Recovery and now is rooted with Magisk. I CAN HELP WITH AL THE PROBLEMS OF YOUR SOFTWARE, But, now i want to install the ROW Secure 11.0.284 version, i cant, i dont know if is the version of my QFIL, the drivers, but the process just arribe to system_3.img and stay every time that ypu want. I guess this is the main issue with Chinese ROM... Whatsapp notifications don't work well.
Still running tests, but there are like 4 places to watch for to help with notifications:
- permissions
- notifications from the app setup screen
- Auto start
- Battery optimisation
....
And probably more.

Nope,
read my mini tutorial further up. You need to "enable unlocking" in developer options, but you won't actually unlock it! Hence you stay stock and get OTA !

Disabling most Chinese apps is very easy. Either from Zui home page or go to settings / apps and you can uninstall or disable what you want.
Installing google play : I did that through the app centre (this is the chinese equivalent of google play) search for google play and you're done.
Are notifications fine out of the box in last cn version or you've to set some permissions?

See previous posts about that.
To summarize, most notifications like calls, sms, emails... Work fine.
I had more trouble with whatsapp. Needs to allow in autostart, exclude from battery optimization, allow notifications... And to be safe, launch it manually after phone reboot.

10.5.9 Global Update temporarily disables Photochrome filter

Update: According to this post by Androidpolice, a Oneplus representative had informed that the update was pushed out unintentionally, and for those who have already updated, a future update will bring back the photochrome mode. (Thanks to Walhalla for providing the link and info)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The temporary disable of Photochrome filter that came with the update in China has finally found its way to Global ROM.
I had just received the update notification from 10.5.6 to 10.5.9 and the new update will be disabling the Photochrome mode in Global ROM as well. FYI, I haven't updated yet.
The changelog mentions the filter is expected to return in June after revamp, but there is no exact date.

I'm not sure as I haven't done the update yet, will play around with Photochrome for a while before I update .
Still april security update
Isn't it possible to extract the 10.5.8 camera version as an apk and to install it then on the new ROM ?
Probably not if you are not rooted. I think lower version number than the system version is not possible, but you can try it. That is the one that is installed on my 10.5.8 firmware.
I just checked my camera app version, it´s 4.0.244. So this version can also be found on apk mirror https://www.apkmirror.com/?post_type=app_release&searchtype=apk&page=7&s=oneplus . So shouldn´t it be possible to flash the new ROM and afterwards the old camera version downloaded from apk mirror?
Is there anything else significant in the update? If not then I'm not bothering. I like this filter.
@Deacon-Frost
Have you even read my post?
@dladz
Not really, I compared the system partitions of 10.5.8 and 10.5.9 with WinMerge and have not found any useful changes. There are changed bluetooth libs, but thats all.
I spotted version 4.0.251 on apk several days ago as I also have .244 on my 8 pro.
I had thought about updating, but didn't.
Can anyone who has updated to 10.5.9 check and see what the camera version is?
TIA

Of course I've not
Can someone go into there Camera app and turn off Ultrashot HDR and Smart Content Detection and take a picture in 3x zoom mode and see if the image it comes out is normal to you or the same as what the viewfinder showed?
Every photo I take it seems to overbrighten or the contrast is turned super high (even though the viewfinder looks fine).
I'm still within the 14 days period of my return in case my camera is faulty but the screen I got is nearly perfect condition with a slight smudge at bottom and a faint line at top so don't really want to send it in.
EDIT: Hoping this update fixes it for me if not...
I'm still on 10.5.6. 5.8 was pulled here in North America. Has anyone manually upgraded to 10.5.8 using the incremental file?
I want to know if it was any help or if I should just stick to 10.5.8.
Thanks,

My memory was not wrong. I just tried to install an older camera version on 10.5.8 and this was the result:
adb install -f "com.oneplus.camera_4.0.230-24190539_minAPI28(arm64-v8a)(nodpi)_apkmirror.com.apk"
Performing Streamed Install
adb: failed to install com.oneplus.camera_4.0.230-24190539_minAPI28(arm64-v8a)(nodpi)_apkmirror.com.apk: Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_VERSION_DOWNGRADE]

EDIT:
Ok, the OTA was only a "mistake"

Odd I'm on that build and I still have photochrome

Question I keep getting a notification of Xiaomi EU weekly rom Update that I have already flashed !

I did flash the latest xiaomi eu weekly update 21.6.30 but for some reason I keep getting a notification saying there's a new update, same as the one I have "21.6.30"
Is this some kind of an update of some stuff that were missing from the first one or what ?
Disable the app updater and enable it for next week

Okii .. thanks buddy
Sometimes small Bugfix releases get reuploaded with identical version number.
That's what causes this
