As we know, the AT&T V35 got Pie in June, but still nothing for the Unlocked model almost 2 months later. This is embarrassingly bad for LG and I'm curious what is causing the issue. Is LG so wrapped up in 5G development that they've left old devices in the dust? Also, I'd be curious if the AT&T Pie is a form of soak test, and perhaps needed bugs to be worked out before full rollout.
Never again will LG mobile get any of my $. Embarrassing is the perfect word. I'd use a few choice descriptors too!

Unlocked is always last, because it has to work with all carriers not just AT&T. More testing has to be done.
Same happened with V30 and Oreo. Official Carrier Unlocked was last, after the carrier models.
I think they've had about a year to get it ready. This is plain and simple. LG is a sh!t company, with more desire for profit than good support for "old" devices. By old I mean 3-6 months or beyond. Just pump out a new phone every 6 months with a 1 year old version of Android and call it good.

Yeah, when my wife got it on her P2XL the volume panel went from Horizontal to Vertical. Mine is same old. No visial changes, but these annoying notifications that I set to Minimize, but they don't go away!

So "minimized" notifications from ifttt and Google translate don't minimize. Pie verticle Volume is still horizontal in LG. I tell ya I don't notice a difference at all. I'm using the pixel launcher and a very stock android type of lame LG theme, but my phone seems the same only with the notification bugs.

The only visible changes I can see so far are the new gesture navigation system, the new recent apps menu, and the added choices for Always On Display. I've used it for about 2 hours and haven't seen any glitches, but I did a full clean install. Some people will be happy they didn't move the clock like every other manufacturer.
All that said, there is no fresh look or feel to the update. Pixel Experience or Pixel Experience Dark for the G7 themes works great on the V35 with Pie.
can anyone provide the download link for the new UNLOCKED KDZ .
and does anyone know which DLL file to use?
i have att v35 but i am running unlocked version oreo kdz

I think I have a theme from the LG "store" or what ever it is built into the phone, that is not removable, and is forcing some old notification bar icons and general look and feel. I will try the Pixel Experience Dark themes and see what happens. Thanks for the info.
Any one have ideas on removing an installed theme? Also, I cant seem to update the Pixel Launcher. I've switched back to Nova, but I have no way of uninstalling Pixel Launcher so I can try and do a clean install rather than try to update. I have no "trash can" next to any of my installed launchers, and I have 2 besides Pixel and stock LG stuff.
Pixel Ex and Pixel Ex dark both make me happier with a somewhat new look. But it's just a look. Where's the vertical volume, and what Pie Gestures are here?

Samsung probably already gave the rom to T-Mobile. T-Mobile then adds their stuff like wifi calling, VoLTE, advanced messaging, etc, then once they're done testing it for stability they push it out. So really it's not just samsung were waiting on.
Nexus comes stock with it. Google gave T-Mobile the firmware long ago.
We probably won't get an update until the s7 comes out, or worse case scenario when the new note and edge plus come out....sad but true

Yes they may have the Firmware from Google for the nexus but that doesn't mean it works with Samsung's phone. They will still have to test the modem and make sure it works well on their network. Still need to test stability with the firmware from Samsung.

That is for the unlocked model. Also, T-Mobile needs to add bloatware and test, which would take a few months probably.
I can never understand why people care about these mediocre updates sometimes, that even breaks the phone at times. When it comes it comes as long as it comes within a 6- 8 months of google releasing it im fine. The software on this phone is excellent now.
Because a lot of these people live t update things. Just keep wanting to update and not satisfied with current things. Sad really.

At this rate I expect to have swapped to an S7 Edge before the S6 Edge+ gets Marshmallow. Thank god for Jump! On Demand
Change log says they fixed it, however mine never had random reboots prior to this latest release.
Since this release, if I am using Google Maps, it goes maybe an hour before the phone just reboots itself. Happened 3 times in 4 hours on a ride on Sunday, which is a pain in the ass when you are on a motorcycle up in the Mtns on unfamiliar roads, and so you have to pull over and stop, fish it out of your jacket pocket, take off your gloves so you can use your fingerprint to unlock it, open up Google Maps and restart the navigation...
Anyone else seeing this? Never had it happen until this latest release. I tried wiping the cache... Phone is completely bone stock, never rooted or unlocked, etc...
Rebooting during google maps happened before 3.2.4.
I experienced it, too, but not since installing Cyanogenmod 13. Not sure if I'm just lucky or if the problem is fixed on it.

How is CM13? What features and functions did you have to give up? Anything buggy or not working with it?
To be honest, I have not played with ROMs in like 2 years or so... The stock ones got good enough that I didn't see the need and I don't really need root for anything. But if they truly work better than stock, then I will give it a shot.
I don't need a gazillion options and tweaks. I want simplicity, elegance, stability, speed and battery life... A little off topic I guess, but it's my thread so that's ok if it addresses my problem in my original post, right?

I haven't used CM in years, but I'm loving it. Lots of little features that make the overall experience great.
The camera quality is pretty good, but I think there's still room for improvement.
I don't think I've given up any features, but I gained several. Automatic do not disturb is included, too.
There are other flavors of CM custom roms, but I like what the official version brings.
It's also been quite stable overall. Same or better than oos from what I can tell.

Yeah, seems like a common problem. I think that it has only happened when using Google Maps and listening to music on my wired headphones. Although this morning I plugged my phone in to my PC to copy off a few pics, and about 3 minutes later I want to do something on the phone and it had turned itself off.

Guys, please don't take offense to what I am about to say... I don't really care about people that don't have the issue. A common problem means that it simply is common, it doesn't mean that everyone or even most people will have it.
Just replying that you don't have the issue, serves absolutely no purpose. Lol

I'm also having the issue when using Waze or Google Maps navigation, and only when using navigation which may point to this being an issue with the Phone and GPS. I upgraded my phone to 3.2.4 but my phone is still restarting.
so i looked on TMOs site at the software update page and it shows the august update, which i took OTA before i rooted with CFAR
on my phone my baseband is M8998TMO_24.71.01.87R NUS
but TMO says it should be M8998TMO_04.17.01.76R
https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-35970
is it different because of CFAR?

This one I have had since October 3rd, got it from a physical corporate T-Mobile store, no updates since I have had it.
I even tried swapping the SIM card hoping it would Kickstart something
Is anyone still on the initial release build with the baseband listed on tmo's website? [M8998TMO_04.17.01.76R]
If so, could you boot into fastboot mode and do "fastboot getvar all" from terminal?
I'd like the "ro.build.version.full" value so I can try to find the first OTA to NCX26.122-49.

If you at the source of the update file it belonged to Lenovo. Also with the amount of people who have troubles with texts and notifications Motorola could have pull it themselves.
Sprint version firmware is different than T-Mobiles and isn't a good gauge. It's not like the whole 6P thing going on.

Yes, version is different, but the only logical explanation is either Lenovo or Tmo pulled the update since other models are updating fine and users were getting the update until recently, but other phones are still able to update to August and September security updates.

If this works especially for any other carrier then great find. You should package it as a flash able zip https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/sample-custom-recovery-zip-t3552916/page1

Pixel Stand is closed source, so that'll never work fully (and by fully I just mean the features of the stand while docked -- it obviously charges normally and still produces the animation).
Does anyone know if you can use an eSim and a Physical Google Fi with the same number . I ordered a physical sim when i just started testing DU and eSim wasn't working . I would like to keep it in case i come across another Rom that does't have eSim working so i can switch back and forth .
Edit : You can use both Physical and eSim with the same number and switch at will .

I carelessly missed the part about Samsung devices being stuck on T-Mobile and the T-Mobile signal at my home is so faint it only manages to connect for a few seconds in certain spots of the house before signal drops.

This is device specific from my understanding. The OP just repackaged the missing files from the stock rom. So if your device doesn't ship with that capability then it would have to be reverse engineered

Thank you. That's certainly beyond my capability but if anyone does manage to figure it out so external devices can have the full Project Fi experience I would be exceptionally grateful as both a phone comparable to my own or a signal booster are both way outside the price range for someone like me. I've got health issues I can't even afford to fix. If I have to I'll crawl back to US Cellular but I really don't want to because most of their employees made no effort to retain me or work with me in any way. Just leaving this here so if someone in the future finds a solution hopefully they will give me a heads up.
There was an update for my Verizon Note 10+ 5G which supposedly failed and was successfully rolled back. I checked again and tried the PC tools which give me an error message saying my firmware is not compatible with the PC update tool. (I am NOT rooted.) I checked again OTA and now it says there is no update which means Verizon must have pulled it! I see no issues operationally with the phone - Note my s/w version as well. Anybody else run into this?

With AT&T I'm more afraid of their updates and automated downloads/flashes than malware... lol, still on Pie.
Best to keep updates blocked, let it roll out and see how many get rolled over by it.
Give it a couple weeks and then decide.
With Q I'm still not satisfied enough to load it and as such the backlog of security updates remain pending.
Whatever.

I don't think it was pulled. I got the update a couple of days ago with no failures.
I have the Verizon Note 10+ 5G. Stock not rooted.

Then why does it say my upgrade failed but I have the most up to date version!?!?? What build do you have, does it match the build number in the photo shown of my phone?

Girlfriends Verizon version got an update. She makes it known to tell me because of bad experiences with Verizon updates . I don't know what happened with hers though. She uses her pixel 4 as her personal but I'll ask.

Thank you for your reply but mine is specific to the Note 10+ 5G, so what you suggest is like comparing Apples to Oranges. I have noticed also as you can see by the photos originally supplied, although it tells me the update failed, the software version has changed and that may be why it also says there is no update available. I may actually be running the later version or not, there is no way to really tell, either way it was handled very sloppily by Verizon and is concerning.
However, I have also heard, Google will be discontinuing the Pixel line of phones so as they say, every company is screwed up, they are just screwed up different ways...!

I was talking about her note, she has 2 phones.
The August update is a battery hog and it's also caused Bluetooth issues. If I didn't have to wipe the phone, I'd go back to the July update. Maybe enough people complained and they quietly pulled it.

Once I get a stable load that's running well, I leave it alone. Been running both Windows and Android like this for many years with very little trouble. As you are keenly aware of tracking down an update issue can be very time consuming*. Many times a hard reset due to malware be easier. Malware on Android has caused me only one hard reset in over 6 years.
I herd dinosaurs, lol, I take a conservative approach to updates because many times the cure is worse than the disease. A bare bones updated Windows or Android machine runs faster... I hate waiting.
Carriers are partnered with Samsung and jam their own crapware and app graphics "updates" in their too on OS upgrades.
These can make it usable... I remember the horror of Lollipop on my S4+, destroyed it... thanks AT&T. Not.
That's one reason I'm still running on Pie... with no issues.
*may be a settings issue. My Pie load runs best with all power management turned off especially 3rd party including Samsung. A new update means a Google search won't yield many solutions for it.
The first app I block is AT&T updates... no joke.

I don't know. Look up that error code 410.
Like I said, I don't think it was pulled.
