You didn't flash anything, yet? Enabled developer options by multiply tapping build number?

I did it but it didn't show, so I discovered a command via adb that made the option appear.

help.

is it possible to unlock the bootloader without enabling developer options.
Well i think that is not possible.
You need to have android debugging enabled for unlocking the bootloader.
I tried doing it from cmd prompt,
It says
"remote em unlock is not allowed "
oem

I want to change the rom. I don't have access to the settings because I did a hard reset before enabling the developer options.
No worries I got the steps from rootjunky. He's done a good job.

boot load problem

Good morning? Still no effect. I wanted to solve it myself, but it was not. Includes fast boot mode. But the process is too difficult. It is too difficult to remove due to an unknown error during the update. My situation is terrible.
OEM unlock is not allowed and the boot loader is locked. OEM locks were not allowed, so they waited more than 10 hours in this state and failed. An attempt was made to unlock the boot loader, but failed because the OEM lock was not allowed. Before using Robin ..... I keep failing. I'm sorry I can not speak English. I tried to talk to Nextbit Forum but it failed. But still would like to use the next bit robin ....... OEM locks are not allowed and they are broken forever? ... I can not flash an image and I can not unlock it.
Can you boot into Nextbit OS?

Go to about phone in settings and tap on the build number a bunch of times.
Go back to the main settings page and click on the new 'developer options' menu.
Enable OEM Unlocking in that menu, and then go into the bootloader and fastboot oem unlock.

Update options not listed in config, and no OEM unlock listed in Dev Options

The title pretty much describe the whole issue: I get a persistent notification that there's an OTA update to install, but touching the notification does nothing.
There seem to be no way of manually installing it either, because there is no update option listed in the configuration.
Can't unlock the bootloader either, because there is no OEM unlock listed in the dev tools.
I've never seen anything like this. Spent days researching, but found nothing. So here I'm hoping someone might have a clue about how to enable updates and OEM unlock in a situation like this.
Any help is appreciated.
This phone is a Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite model M1805D1SG, running Android 8.1 (OPM 1.171019.019.V9.6.6.0ODLMIFF)

for unlocking the bootloader you have to use ADB tools. you can't just unlock it in developer setting.
for your problem i would recommend you too check the forums on how to unlock the bootloader with adb and then grab the latest official A2 lite rom (10.0.40. or something i guess) and flash it with the MiFlashTool.
this procedure will upgrade your device without any loss of data.
I'm telling you this because that's how i update my device (which is rooted and kernel modified) with no problems.

True. We usually need to run 'fastboot oem unlock' to actually unlock the bootloader. Problem is, the command needs one to enable OEM unlocking in the developer options beforehand, otherwise it fails. And I dont have any means to enable OEM unlocking in the dev options, because it is not listed at all!
And without that I'm unable of doing any flashing.
The only report I found regarding a missing an OEM unlock option in the dev tools concern Samsung S9. Apparently one needs to wait 7 days for it to appear. But such a thing is unheard of concerning a Xiaomi phone.

I have been researching this for days, couldn't find anything... Didn't find a single report about OEM unlock not showing up in Developer options for Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite, at all.

Nope. See screenshots.---> https://imgur.com/a/b0SXeV0
I wonder if there's a way to enable it through command line, in a local shell (inside android)

Strange
I'm on 9.6.11.0 version and it's there. You're on 9.6.6.0 version. Maybe there's someone who had experience with 9.6.6.0 and OEM unlocking but if not there's always the option to do an OTA update to a newer firmware version.
Just don't update to a 10.x.x.x version (Pie) if you want to keep Oreo

Can't do an OTA update either. Check closely: along with OEM unlock, there is no system update option.

Can't get "OEM Unlock" menu

I just got an A50. I tried the date-change trick that was described elsewhere, but I still can't get the OEM Unlock menu to appear. Do I need to just wait 7 days?
It's in dev options. Tap build number in settings like 7 or 9 times i forget how many.

What model A50 do you have?
If it's the A505U, it cannot be OEM unlocked.

Settings -> about phone -> software information -> tap 7 times on build number. It will unlock the developer options (the last menu on settings), after that search for OEM unlocking. it works on A505FN, i don't know if it works in all variants.

SM-J260T1 Oem Unlocking isn't visible in Developer Options

I can't see the Oem unlocking option in developer options, is there a way to enable it that works? I have unlocked my device and recently reset it.
