Is there a good app for this phone eg the latest Pixel camera?
If so how can I download and install. Please also confirm if phone will retain the installed camera app or will it be replaced.
I am only used to installing apps from the official Play Store and don't want to brick my phone!

First of all, any modded app may or may not work as flawlessly as the original app that came with the device. The modded apps are very specific to the device, the Android version etc that they're made for. For this, you'll have to look for the mod that best suits your phone. Talking on the aforementioned thread will be you best option, since the developer who has made that mod and the people who actually use it on their device will be present there to answer your queries. I can't, simply coz I don't have the device and thus haven't used the mods
In order to install, simply download the required apk from the link provided in the thread. Then install it
No, it won't replace your original app, since they're made by different developers (Nokia in your case) and thus have different signatures. You'll have both the apps available to use

So as we know the play store offers all the services like movies, etc only in selected countries. So some guys found an exploit to fake a us carrier server and fool the play store into believing that we are connected to a us server, eg t mobile.
This method does not work on any ROM and kernel according to the app but it sure works on one v. I am on cm10 and hell boy and this sure works for me:cyclops:
I am not sure where this should belong if you think this belongs in general please report so a mod can move it.

Yesterday where leaked details of a new camera application in the HTC One and Galaxy S4 Google Play Editions, which added new features and some small change in its interface. And as expected, hours later, we can download and install the same version on any Android device.
To install the new gallery and camera, all you have to do is follow the next steps:
Go to Settings > Security and activate the checkbox "Unkonw Sources"
Download the APK file
With a file explorer (IE: ES Explorer or Astro), find the file on your SD and just pick the file and install the new Gallery (New camera included with the gallery)
Enjoy the Google Experience camera and gallery on your HTC One or in almost any device
If you have a Nexus or stock Android Experience device, this app will replace the current camera and gallery. If you have a Sense or other kind of Android, you will notice 2 new apps in the app drawer called: Camera and Gallery which belong to the new gallery and camera (no sh*t Sherlock ).
So far this has been tested on an HTC One, an Oppo Find 5 and in an Xperia Z and it's working in all of them with no issues so it will probably work in the rest of Android devices. Also, Photosphere and Panoramic options seems to be working to in all the Android devices with no need of ROOT or anything so, go ahead and try this new camera and gallery.

REQUIREMENT
The app requires that your phone has a gyro sensor (different from accelerometer sensor). Ensure you have this first before installing this app. You can check the "sensors" section of your phone on GSMArena if you don't know if your device has it.

Photosphere just fails and goes back to the Gallery running CM 10.1
Installed and it works, however I end up with yellow lines over my images (just with this new camera, the stock one works fine).

Not sure if you noticed the "Source: El Androide Libre"... I don't know who leaked the apk but the source was from "El Androide Libre" website.
So I've give the proper credits, I never said that I released the APK, I only translated the information from the other site and included my own dropbox link just in case.

BUG: when opening an MMS picture with the enclosed gallery app, nothing shows up, and tends to lock up the phone for a few seconds. The sense gallery works perfectly.

The theme is pretty but it haven t animation, and i don't like that.
I hope standalone app will be updated, right now it's not even like oneplus one lockscrenn.

I read you'll need to change something in the build.prop to enable material look. It was noted somewhere in the "Android L apps" thread in apps section.
Let me know if you cannot find it. I'll try to locate it and post a link.

App does not install on s8 exynos oreo. The app must be modified, anyways thanks to mention the emojimaker app on the xda forums.
If anyone have APPS NOT INSTALLED/CONFLICT PACKAGE issue, download the Zipsigner apps at Playstore then just sign the APK like Message/Camera or any system apps. After that just install the signed APK n voilaaa now it will installed on ur device. Hope it help you guys

Im not pointing in the EmojiMaker itself, its for all user who get the conflict issue. Btw for EmojiMaker, we need the latest camera version, samsung experience 9 + minor tweak or maybe ported rom just like when S8 launch, then the S7 user cant use sticker function. Just wait if someone make it in future

This is the prove the signed apk method worked on my device. I cant test Camera apk due to my device still using Nougat. The signed apk for Message 5.0.00.128, Emoji Maker & Camera 8.0.75 only available through PM due to respect thread owner ?

Yeah unless you have Oreo, S9 camera apps & framework. Wait for others to mod the Emoji Maker. For sure its not work on Nougat

Couldn't you just edit the source code to get it to work on devices without those
