I have stock pie rom (June Update) in which sometimes when I restart my phone the sdcard that I formatted as internal storage will corrupted. I have to reformatted it again as internal storage and this problem has been happening since oreo day. I'm sure as hell it's not my sd card fault since it can still be used after reformatted. Does anyone else face the same bug when used sd card as internal storage? I have a logcat.

No, but my sdcard is from samsung and it's fine if I use it as external storage. This problem only happen if used as adoptable storage.

Well I have a new version of CWM Mod, and apparently when you format the sd-card, it no longer formats the inner sd card but your external sd card. I was really pissed as I lost all my data I had saved, but it also managed to screw up my sd card. Neither of my computers recognize my SD Card and I have no idea how I can go about restoring it. My phone can detect the sd card but it will say its corrupt randomly. So I'm guessing CWM formatted the card in a really screwed up way. Any suggestions brahs?
I'll even try to mount the sd card on CWM but it wont be able to mount it. It's a shame to waste a 32 gig sd card like this
Have you tried to format through the phone storage? Menu/settings/storage/format

Only gives me the option to mount or unmount the SD card
How old is the SD card? This phone is know for eating up the 32 GB cards. I had one for less than 3 weeks and it did the same. I use trwp but there is a thread about cards and our misfortunes with the 32 GB.

Make sure you card is not in exfat. CWM will not read cards in exfat, I had the same problem. If it is you are going to need to format it to fat 32. Most 32gigs sd cards and higher come in exfat now. You are most likey going to have to do it on the computer also it cant be done from CWM.

Yes but my computer won't even detect the SD Card. It was fine and dandy up until yesterday when I hit format on CWM on the SD Card thinking I was formatting the internal storage (since it's labelled /sdcard) but it formatted the actual SD. Windows won't detect my Micro SD and neither will my Mac. However if I put the SD card into my phone and connect via USB, it shows up.

You pressed format /sdcard, and it formatted your extsd? That's a pretty serious bug, so thanks for the heads up. What version of CWM are you running?
Op. I did the same thing a long time ago. I have gotten into the habbit of removing the sd card when I am formatting with a custom recovery. I also back up the sd to my pc and reformat the sd when changing roms. A bit off topic but I also wipe system before flashing a new rom. So far I have avoided many of the issues mentioned day after day. Maybe I am lucky but my wierd habits have been successful so far.

Did you manage to fix the problem though? Not to be rude but I'm looking for solutions towards this specific situation, not advice on what to do next time :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:

5.8 something. It's weird because it allows for both internal and external SD use. When you backup the first open is to save to external then its internal. First version of CWM i've ever used with such an option.
For anyone wondering about a solution, I used an android 2.3 device which actually has a format option for the SD card and now my computers recognize it again. Life is good

I have looked everywhere for a solution and have had no luck. I emulated the storage by selecting an option in a ROM install but it screwed up my storage. I can't even see my SD card (64gb) and my internal storage shows 11gb (supposed to be 16). I tried reformatting sd card, new recovery and nothing is working! Any help is appreciated.
For one the phone isn't going to have 16gb of storage unless it's an empty shell with absolutely nothing on it 11gb sounds about right for a clean ROM IIRC. I can't help you on the 64gb SDCard I'm assuming it's formatted as exfat? It was complete hit and miss on working for me and eventually my SDCard randomly stopped working (2 months old minimal use) if that's the case maybe try reformatting it as fat32 on your computer.
So I came from installing the cm13 rom. It ask me if I want to use my 128gb sandisk micro SD card as a internal storage. I press yes. It got stuck at 20% and after it stop (message photo would be in the attachment ) .Since then my pc, my other Android phone can't recognize the micro SD card and when I restart the process to make it a internal storage and would stay at 20% and give me a small message at the end.

Same exact problem here. No idea how to fix it. Corrupted the heck out of my SD card, and I had to use Windows to format and make things right again. I'm sticking with 12.1 until I hear exfat is working on the 128gb card.

Could you tell me the troubleshoot steps that you did on your windows to fix your 128gb card, because I have the same amount of space as you have and it isn't working.
Hi everyone!
Today I upgraded from CM 12.1. something to CM 13 and got a kinda weird bug, where google play services kept crashing, so i reflashed the gapps, and got another bug where the starting presentation program (don't remeber the exact name of the program, "guided assistance" or something, the one you get at the beggining explaining how to set up your device) kept crashing, making it impossible for me to continue using the device. Decided to restore factory settings (clicking between a crash and another xD) and everything works fine, except the fact that I can't use my sd card any suggestions? Any other info needed?
Is there a marshmallow rom with a working sd card?
P.s. I just read that is a issue that the developers are aware of, but i can't find anyone complaining about this error (the sd card not working) in the xda CM13 thread
Thanks to all!
MicroSD card support in CM13 ROMs is borked - the only thing you can do is wait it out!

Im on the latest CM nightly and I have no issue with my 64GB sd card. I used the built in format option and I seem to be fine

Does the current CM nightly that you're using support exFAT out of the box? The reason for me asking this is because on the 20151207 nightly, it was still complaining that the 'SD card is corrupted'.
FAT32 support for SD cards is fine on portable storage mode but when formatted as 'internal', people are still reporting problems as well.
I got that message as well but when I formatted I got my full sd card

If that is the case, then what file system is your microSD card using currently?
From what I can tell exFAT. My transfer speed was much faster then when I had to use FAT32. Is there an app that can tell me what format my SD card is?

Soorry if this is a stupid question, but what is the built-in format? Can I use an SDXC card from another Android device (Samsung Tab S) or this a special format option found only in CM-13/Marshmallow devices?

When you put a SD card in the phone on 6.0 it will ask if you want to format it. With 6.0 you can use it as portable storage or internal memory for more room for apps and such. I use portable storage but as of the last nightly I didnt have to format my SD card. CM fixed exFAT support in their latest builds.

Hey can you tell me your SD model? And filesystem? Just plug in your pc and see in the properties settings. Can you tell me your CM build?
Little update, I flashed Cloudy 2.5 and Gabriel kernel, thanks all
I figured out the SD card problem , i couldn't fix it for nothing until i did this.
FOR ANYBODY THAT GETS STUCK AT 20% or any other sd card problem with 6.0 roms
1. Backup all files on SD card (This will delete everything on your sdcard)
2. Install minitool partition wizard on your computer
3. Inset Sd card into PC with and adapter and/or card reader (NOT WITH PHONE)
4. Remove all partitions from SD card with partition wizard (Do not reformat) Be careful to only select the SD card
5. Place SD card into phone
6. Let the phone detect SD card and try to reformat
7. chose either Internal or Portable Storage
8. Enjoy because it works perfectly for me now.
btw. im running a LG G3 D850 ATT
there was a fstab issue with external sdcards, the fix has been merge already though.

unfortunatelly this metod does not solve this problem on marshmallow stock
Hi
I had a microsd card formatted as internal storage in my LG G4 running CM 14, unfortunately I had to reflash stock rom due to issues I ran into upgrading CM 14. The sd card is now not recognized without being formatted (in PC or Phone), there is a lot of data that I had in there that I would rather not loose.
I am currently running a windows recovery tool called DiskDigger on it which is scanning for known file types, but is there a way I can mount this sd card?
Thanks
No, you can't
And since an external SD adopted ad internal is supposed to be encrypted I suppose that "normal" disk recovery utilities will be useless.
Sorry
