What is Project Treble:
Project Treble basically partitions your device into two separate partitions, a system and a vendor: system contains your generic system image, while vendor partition has your device specific files required for booting and running your phone. This way we can easily change the system image and be able to run our device on different system images with the same kernel and vendor partition

Never mind, sorry. I got it working ok, although my LTE stopped working after a reboot on Pixie Dust GSI so I've switched back to a non-GSI ROM.

AOSP is Android as Google publish without other modifications. More or less AOSP is the Nexus devices stock rom without gapps.
Anyway to get a working system I added some changes from CodeAurora Forum and CyanogenMod. I added also non-AOSP features for a better user experience ("Clear All" button in Recents) and I'm NOT going to add something other.

What is OMS / Substratum ?
Substratum is an application, downloadable from the Play Store, that utilizes all of Sony's Overlay Manager Service (OMS), found on the official AOSP code review. This is similar to Layers in terms of stability and customization as it runs off an upgraded version of the Resource Runtime Overlay system, with the added benefit of running up-to-date Sony code on a customized ROM.

What is RRO ?
Runtime Resource Overlay (RRO) was contributed by Sony to the Android code base. i mean it kinda still works i just tested in on newest droidian but there seems to be an issue with default brightness that makes it seem that it doesn't work (Black Scren) after fixing it it works fine.

the rom must be a/b only? because I read in treble check app that the a01q is a only.
All modern android devices requires an AB image even if really do not have two slots, but in anyway this vendor not works.

Introduce:
Nubia reserves the /dev/block/sde41 slot (vendor partition, above 450 MB) on the Z17/Z17S devices, but it is not actually used.
Benefiting from such an empty partition, we can modify it slightly to get "project treble" support.
However, with the further development of android, we need to expand the size of the vendor partition to better support the new system (especially for z17s).
Steps:
step1: Download Installation package:
google drive: Increase_vendor_partition_for_z17-z17s.zip
weiyun: Increase_vendor_partition_for_z17-z17s.zip
step2: Download new twrp recovery:
for Z17: twrp_recovery_3.7.0_9_for_nx563j-new-partitions.img
for Z17S: twrp_recovery_3.7.0_9_for_nx595j-new-partitions.img
step3: Boot into BL mode, and flash new twrp recovery
step4: Boot into new twrp recovery, and flash Installation package
step5: Enjoy! You will get new vendor partition of 513MB
Restore:
If you want to restore the original partition tables, please download the installation package (google drive: Restore_vendor_partition_for_z17-z17s.zip, weiyun: Restore_vendor_partition_for_z17-z17s.zip) and follow steps 2 to step 4 again.
