Wifi wont turned on after restoring backup on twrp, help - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

short-story, i ****ed up while fiddling with my phone.
i wipe everything in twrp (dalvik, system, data, chache), then proceed to restore a backup.
the only backup that i have is a backup from when i was about to root the phone, https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/how-to/oneplus-3-how-to-unlock-bootloader-t3398733.
but silly me the only thing that i backup was the Boot and System only.
if i restore both it will require me to also flash supersu or else it wont boot,
if i restore system only it will boot.
now here's the problem, both do works but the wifi wont turned on. it practically brick my phone...
is there a way to fix this?
or do i have to flash stock rom or something? if i have to, how to actually do it properly... im afraid i'll f up again
edit:
i've tried flashing rom from oneplus official website, it said
E3004: This package is for "One Plus 3" devices; this is a ""

nvm guys, figured it out on my own
i use unbricking method, https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/how-to/unbrick-phone-msmdownloadtool-v3-0-6-t3575801 to practically rejuvenate my phone, it literally undid everything.
and the rest is updating and re-rooting my device again...
cheers,

[Q] My Gnex won't stop rebooting

Hi guys
I just changed my color of everything in recovery mode. My phone has been trying to start up for 40 minutes! I don't know what to do. Can I remove the battery and try to turn it on again? I just want it to startup.
Thanks
i guess you are stuck in a bootloop. you should have made a backup, did you?
I'm not really sure what a backup is? I have titanium, and clockwork I believe on my phone. I have changed the os a few times. Please explain to me what a backup is
Backup (Nandroid) is a part of clockworkmod recovery.
usually before you flash anything that changes the system files, you should make a backup (takes less than 5 minutes). just in case something goes wrong with the file you flashed, so you can revert back to how the phone was before the backup.
are you stuck at the splash screen or bootanimation?
I just removed the battery, and I put it back in and it's doing it again... I hope it starts up.
You are the fifth person I saw having this problem today. Something is not right here...
I am guessing chrome beta is causing this. I didn't get a chance to do factory restore yet as I want to backup my data files first when I get home.
But someone said data wipe and factory restore do not help...

i highly doubt that Chrome for Android is the source of the problem.

I am on stock rom without root. There wasn't any issue before and installing chrome was the only thing I did yesterday.
By changing the color what do you mean? Flashed a theme?

I did the red sensation

which process did you use to root your phone?
So basically something from that theme didn't install correctly and is not allowing your phone to boot.
When making any changes to anything it is always wise to make a nandroid backup. If you made a nandroid you could restore that and you would be fine.
Since you didn't you have 2 options.
Option 1) Flash the current rom you were running with just a dalvik cache wipe and hope that it boots back up. If it does not you will have to do option 2.
Option 2) Wipe both data and cache and then flash a rom. You will lose all of your data but, you will then have a working phone.
I installed the chrome earlier today, a few hours later i got stuck in reboot loop. I use adb pull to get a copy of important data.
factory reset doesnt work. when i try to flash an earlier image of my phone, it fails at restoring 'data'

tab s 8.4 t700 brick help

Ok, long story short, i tried to flash a rom that needed a newer version of twrp, i thought i was up to date, turns out i wasnt, it didnt work so i did a recovery, updated twrp of the build i though i needed, reflashed, still didnt work, tried to reflash the recovery but did not work, stuck on boot, tried it a couple more time and no luck, gave me "error 255" or something, saw error "data can not be mounted" same with cache, so i youtubed how to fix, they said go to wipe, advance wipe, select partition, selected cache, system data and i think internal, did a change file system to which the video described, they said it did not matter which system, dont know what i chose first, tried to restore again, no luck saw system not compatible with restore, so made sure i changed file system to EXT4 which i thought it was.
so couple of questions
1. what is the default system for t700
2. can i fix this by fixing change system
3. if not how can i?
4. can i just flash a stock rom to fix this?
the only reason i was trying to flash a new rom, was because i get about 2hrs max of battery lige, even with a new battery, and i heard it my be system OS problems and twrp/cwm can fix this.
please help i really need this tablet and cannot afford a new one
Seeing as you've gone all out and just wiped everything you may as well just flash the stock firmware.
This will fix everything.

Bootloop at green HTC Boot Animation after trying to restore TWRP

Hello,
sorry if this has been mentioned anywhere before, but I wasn't able to find something similar.
So I know why way around with my old Nexus 5 in things backing up the phone with Titanium or TWRP, but since it's wifi module died on me I switchted to the HTC 10, which is kinda intimidating to me when it comes to updating to new OS or backing up. With the NExus 5 it was a walk in the park for me.
First, I don't really understand the concept of S-On and S-Off. Don't know if this is related to my problem, just wanted to mention it.
My HTC 10 is rooted, bootloader unlocked, S-On and runs on 7.0 2.41.401.41.
TWRP is the latest available version.
Before I rooted the phone I made a backup of the stock system image etc like explained in one of those "how to root the htc 10" tutorials (no writing allowed).
To root I had to allow writing onto the system partition of course.
Now, I made an TWRP backup. I backed up everything that was available in TWRP. Userdata, cache, system etc.
Few weeks ago I ran into some problems (I though I did, turned out Google App is just weird) and wanted to restore my TWRP backup.
So I did. Went to TWRP and restored the backup from my SD card.
Got no error messages during the process, but when I wanted to boot up the phone the green HTC boot animation did its thing and then froze at the HTC logo, which would result in a bootloop after ~10 minutes of waiting.
Could force the phone to go into bootloader and from there into TWRP, but that's the best I could do.
Also removed SD and SIM card trays, but that didnt do anything.
Had to factory reset and then do a backup via Titanium backup, which is better than nothing but still a pain in the a** because some things just have to be set up manually, which took me quite a while. I honestly don't want do that again anytime soon
Does anyone have an idea what could went wrong or what I did wrong during the backing up and restoring process?
Except for that, I tried to understand how to update to an upcoming version of the OS when the phone is rooted with S-On and how I could keep my userdata? On the Nexus 5 I just manually installed everything via adb except userdata.img and only had to re-root the phone afterwards. I am afraid this isn't possible with the HTC 10, am I right?
The HTC 10 forces encryption and that has broken TWRP restore for me if I try to switch between ROMs. If I switch ROMs then I have to do a full wipe / format. The one time I tried to go back to my original OS I had a similar issue and I ended up flashing the full RUU to get back to stock.
The only time I am able to restore in TWRP is if I'm returning to the same ROM that I am currently running. Even then I usually just restore the data.

Yeee i Fawkcd up Help me ill buy you diner 😌

At this point a local update from recovery is probably your best option. Get the latest FULL OTA for your model and push it to /sdcard from adb. Then boot to recovery and do the update. This should sort all your partitions and stuff.
for starters you will need a pc to fix this. now i want you to retrace your steps. what twrp you had, what magisk version, what did you install, what errors it shows, everything you can. the more details you provide the faster we can help you

Twrp android 12 failing super backup no error??

Hi all
I would be grateful for some advise. This is my first phone with a dynamic partition for system and when I try to backup super in twrp it always fails with no error code at all.
I can't seem to find much support and would be grateful for some help to troubleshoot this please. Everything works apart from that- fully rooted etc no issues.
Also, on a side, would I need to restore system if I wanted to restore to a precious backup or would just data suffice? When my phone in the past has borked I have always restored data, boot, recovery and system to get back to a previous state.
Thanks everyone
