if your device is unlocked ( not branded by your operator ), you need to power off the device. power it on by pressing both volume up& down + power button. You will see a screen with barcodes and other details. after that connect the device to your computer and open the RUU

my device is unbranded but the rom would still not install instead of barcodes i get a flash and a wheel on screen and the rom does not see my phone is it because i have win 8.1?

this is not an android rom this is only windows phone 8 nothing to do with androis i managed to degrade my phone from 8.1 to 8.0 thank you for the nothing
Recently , i just rooted my Asus Fonepad 7 using the newest tool (i forgot it's name). After finish rooting and stuff , i installed GlTools and grant the supersu permission whatsoever. After I grant it , my tablet suddenly hang and power off. I tried to on it back and it stuck at the Asus logo. What am I supposed to do? I really need helpp right now. and btw , my asus fonepad 7 version is 4.4 kitkat , fe170cg.
I do appreciate if someone helps me

i got boot loop cause i change the premission in the system folder .
i removed the check box from the execute . if it was like thist ח now its I , one line at the left side.
and i dont have clock work mode. if i had i could fix it. at the recovery.

We do have cwm:good:
just dont try to flash anything except the firmware files you download from the asus support website.

I was able go into droidboot by presssing vol+ and power buttons.. Problem solved.

I flashed UL-K012-WW-12.8.1.33-user firmware with the package attached.
Go to folder where you unpack IntelAndroid-FBRL-05-16-2015-PTR.7z
Launch launcher.bat
Type ACCEPT
Type T4
Your pad will load CWM recovery.
Now use CWM recovery menu to install firmware from SD card.

@gus33000 and myself have been working on a new app, called Retail Device Unlock, it will install a secure boot policy (ie, BOOTLOADER UNLOCK) on any Windows Phone (that can get to w10m by any means).
I kinda have a lack of testers right now, and without testers the app release won't happen any time soon.
Please to note that testers must be using a spare phone that you don't care if it gets bricked. Said phone must be running Windows Mobile 10 and be interop unlocked, using either latest vcreg (if Lumia x5x) or Interop Tools (if not).

There aren't any Roms now, because there is no bootloader unlock available yet. Once the unlock gets publicly released, the roms will start flowing.

Go to the path '/cust' and modify the next file: (YOU HAVE TO BE ROOT)
cust_path_mapping.cfg
And place the next line on the last line of the file
Code:
FFFFFF,FF=/cust/OPEN_COM
Now save and exit.
Restart your G4 and the message should not appear anymore.

Easy to root. Unlock the boot loader using mtkclient , there is also a GUI version that works too if you don’t want to use commands .. androidfilehost has both. Make sure to back up your firmware first snd foremost. After that to obtain root simply take boot_a.bin transfer to phone patch with magisk snd bring back to pc flash the patched image to same partition. If by any chance you could upload your firmware somewhere for those in need would be greatly appreciated . I made mistake of trying to modify build.prop and when I hit save it basically cleared the whole file was unable to mount system to fix it snd started bootlooping
