MI-Globe and MIUI.eu - Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Questions & Answers

Hello friends, since day 1 of my unlocked bootloader i'm using Masik. But as this ROM is no more, i'm struggling to find a good MIUI custom ROM.
I tried MI-Globe, that is based on MIUI.eu, i like it but i still find it very bloated on the gapps aspect (i has the google app, the OK Google apps and even a Google Lens app! I want none of that, i wish it was equivalent of the pico open gaps).
Is the MIUI.eu (the pure ROM, not the MI-Globe version) "bloated" on the gapps aspect too? Or it has only the bare bones gapps that i wish?
Also, if it is, can you guys recommend me a MIUI ROM that fit this? I kind of want a china ROM that has no Xiaomi bloat (and ads/spy) that i can flash gapps my self.

miui eu also got built in gapps, no difference. maybe you can try to debloat it by yourself.

I happened to use MIUI.eu on my phone as I wanted a better MIUI and it's better every way.
And yes the MIUI.eu ROM is not bloated at all , it has the MIUI apps pre-built but not many Google apps... It has only the main Google app and the play Store built in.. This was the case on the MIUI.eu global beta and it might also be the same on the stable version

Whats not the like....very feature rich and smooth....
But if your really want to change Rom, the advance way is to look in development section....many to choose from RR , CM, Mokee. All MM rom, some even got Nougat.
But if you want an easy way. Just download a launcher.
i am waiting on a bootloader unlock request via sms then i will flash CM14.

First I want to say that MIUI is too basic and I dont consider it a real rom.. thats my personal opinion.
Now there are 2 problems with your answer though I do appreciate it. First, the roms you suggest have issues, especially the camera and video recording. Second a launcher wont remove 2 I hate in MIUI which are the notification bar and task switcher.
But, I read that the task switcher in CM 14.1 is like the one in the stock rom so I may install CM. And the notification bar in MIUI is the worst I've seen. I cant believe it exists when the one in the stock rom is llight years ahead in looks and functionality.
Is it possible to replace the notification in MIUI with the one found in the stock rom? If not, can an Xposed app can do the trick?

I have used aosp and cm all my life... I personally used sony stock launcher and samsung ones also....light year behind..? I don't believe so...it just different not useless. Miui also got something other launcher dont have like second space and dual apps...like others l, need to installed separately. Rr and cm for mm is stable..if you keep up to date with the current development, youll know. Only for naugat probably some issues...if rooted your device and unlock, miui got xmiui apps for xposed to setting up miui launcher. But if you do hate miui, then RR rom is the best for now.

Hi, in my opinion there`s no any rom more appropriate that the stock, let`s clarify that rom stock for Xiaomi is Miui developed to bring all the functionality to device, actual version of miui is so complete, previous v5, 6 they lacked many functions. maybe you must explore the themes from miui to change fonts, icons, notification bar, colors and others, really nice themes (first explore, if you didn`t), besides miui launcher you can replace for any other (Nova. BB Launcher, HTC Launcher) and you must uninstall just deleting with a file explorer or with a remover app after rooting. Anyway you have others roms (custom); for me the best in MM is Mokee and for Nougat is the last build from RR. Preferences may vary.

There is a theme called Android N in MIUI theme store to change the appearance of notification shade, status bar, quick serious toggle and recents apps. BTW Resurrection Remix by Ajsmsj78 is highly recommended. The camera and video recording is working perfectly. I use open camera.

Easy, why do you buy a xiaomi phone?
Buy a nexus or whatever phone with stock rom and you will not have problems in that sense.

It's as close to stock as you can come on any phone other than Nexus/Pixel phones.
A different launcher helps. Problem is few Roms other than MIUI work on helium. Only major problem is lack of NTFS and exfat support. Might be better if bootloader is unlocked and Xiaomi.eu MIUI version installed. Over all the phone is good. Better and larger screen than my Nexus 6. Other big problem is no to poor printer support when trying to print from the phone.

Any suggestions for a minimal rom for Zuk Z2?

I was on JDCTeam at 7.1.2, I tried other roms, but they spend a lot of battery even on idle. I tried 3 roms stok, qfil, but they are very heavy, 1.5gb, full of Chinese apps that can not be uninstalled, dialer, contacts, message ... I do not want the Chinese government seeing my data, enough NSA .. I tried to go back to JDCTeam 7.1.2, but the gapps do not open. Now I'm with the 8.0 stok, playing PUBG is very bad, even installing the PUBG Tool the game is full of lag, unplayable. I wanted a small rom, those of 450mb or less, with gapps pico preinstalled, google settings. No battery-draining features, no special launchers, no themes, no wallpapers ... Just the androi stock, like the one that came on the Moto X2. Maybe with the Utouch configuration that comes in the ZUI. Could someone do this? A lot of people just want a simple and light rom. I would like some suggestion of a rom "android stok".

Hi, did you try? Your feedback pls.
I did not install it. In the page asks to install another file before, but does not explain well as.
Getting a minimal ROM below 450MB with pre-installed pico gapps ain't possible for our device.
But cleaner ROMs with very less features :
1. Lineage OS
2. Jaguar
3. Cardinal AOSP
4. Arrow OS
Other ROMs are there may be which I've never tried.
Note : AOSIP is a good ROM but not minimal, it just 1 step behind RR in terms or customization & features quantity, according to your preference I believe you won't like AOSIP.
Also, less size of the ROM file may not mean it has less features & apps. Deodexed ROMs are smaller than odexed ROMs but may have more features & apps pre-installed.
I used Jaguar, it's very good, but it uses a lot of battery. I would go back to JDCTeam 7.1.2, I used it for a long time. But now when I flash that the gapps do not work.
I am now using the stock rom rom 8.0. It's a really bad rom, watching youtube in the chrome while charging the battery makes the apps stall and close. The pubg can not play anymore, because of the legs, nor gfxtool help, is a very poorly made rom. I wanted an Android Zero, a simple rom with google services. But I think I'd better learn how to make a rom.

This is cardinal AOSP that is suggested above. You'll probably like it.

Also search a bit online about "magisk " "Google service doze" "aggressive doze"
Lineage OS and Pixel experience are good for a minimal ROM

Question Xiaomi.eu for mi 11x(Aliothin)

So from miui 13 xioami.eu is not working properly with mi11x (aliothin).
As xioami.eu refuses to support mi11x though alioth and aliothin are the same device.
(They said and I am quoting here "This is intentional. The ROM didn't have proper support for aliothin to begin with (when you say "it was working fine" you don't really know what you're talking about because you didn't notice the issues). We removed the remaining aliothin junk. So yeah, it's not meant to work on aliothin.")
Anyone have any miui 13 custom rom suggestion? Not based on china base
I also ended up in a boot loop, got "nv data corrupted msg" in miui recovery. Flashed miui official V13.0.4.0.SKHINXM via usb otg and booted successfully.
What's slot A/B in TWRP?
xiaomi.eu was in slot A and miui official in slot B.
I'm not able to flash xiaomi.eu android 12, not able to install from otg. Wiped slot A but not able to copy zip to data.
Currently using android 13 official.
Yeah, miui eu doesn't support aliothin, which i find so awkward.
But i managed to flash miui eu latest, and everything works fine except for the camera. It's not usable at all. When you take a shot , the app closes and nothing is saved.
No matter what app you use for camera , it's the same thing.

The display setting will not have the 120hz option.
This happens when xiaomi.eu deliberately removes code related to aliothin. I still don't understand the reason behind it. And it's just frustrating.
And nobody should recommend xioami.eu for mi11x.
Hoping other custom MIUI in future that will support mi11x.
I own Mi 11x and I currently have Xiaomi.eu 12.5.18 stable installed. And the battery life is terrible
I was thinking of updating to miui13 hoping for better performance and I came across this thread.
What do you guys suggest?
This device is great except the proximity sensor and battery life, which is a serious turn down

Well for battery life you can root and install naptime + servicely. This helps a lot in aosp rom.
Also lower the clock speed of every cpu cluster by 100-200 (max). For this use franko kernel manager.
You can this on miui also. I never did this in miui.
Basically there are **** ton off background services and wake locks prevent your phone from sleeping and consumes more and more battery. Above mentioned apps let you choose how android behaves when screen is off also limiting unnecessary background processes.

Well most banking apps working with magisk + shamiko + safteynet fix.
Here's a tutorial. What banking apps do you use? Most upi apps will work.
Naptime works without root using some adb commands. But I don't know how usefull it will be. Because it doesn't freeze the background services when not in use.
If you don't want to root and want a good battery backup. Stock is the best option. Just use some debloating tools to uninstall unnecessary mi services.
Other wise you can try aosp + kernel. I don't if that will pass safteynet.

Question is there an ETA of PE for 12x?

There are too many useless functions in Miui, and so many bugs ,such as auto brightness,

I got my 12X today, global version. Most of the pre-installed apps I was able to uninstall, the only thing that really annoyed me was the gestures locked to the default launcher. I'm used to the Niagra launcher and its minimalistic approach, but I don't like the old three button layout, so I'm stuck with the MIUI launcher apparently :/ I hope we get some custom roms ASAP

Thanks! I've already tried to use FNG, but I couldn't hide the 3 nav buttons, I took a quick look at the video, but still no success, I'll check it later and I'll try to reproduce their settings. Hi,
The easy way is download MIUI 14 from https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=337557 unzip the folder, start your F3 in FASTBOOT Mode,
Install using the "FASTBOOT" instruction are found on the Xiaomi.eu site,
https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/23-2-13.68319/,
If you are rooted i suggest to backup you apps and data with Migrate-GPE.
I tried MIUI 14 Briefly before switching back to the Amazing Evo-X rom.

Hi,
I am a patron on the Evo-X Early release group and have just been updated to V7.6.1, i think Xiaomi.eu roms look good but it lacks all the latest extras that come with the newest "Custom Rom".
I use my Samsung smartwatch as a trusted device to keep my F3 unlocked, MIUI Roms will only except Xiaomi Devices, i am also a fan of SMART CHARGING, this is included in EVO-X.
Aggelos, always waits to perfect Evo-X before he release them into the public domain, i don`t use all the bells and whistles that this great rom has on offer but it is perfect for me, i like to try other roms to see how they compare but i always eventually return back to Evo-X,
If you fancy a try you could always look at Evo-X thread on page 1, post 20.
One thing i have learnt when i have been playing with other roms and things start to go a bit strange, like magisk not playing ball, Google Wallet detecting root and apps force closing, is to return to a almost stock rom using a Xiaomi.eu rom and install it via FASTBOOT mode as this normally fixes most issues.
Last weekend after installing some different roms (4 in total) , Magisk started playing up and apps were also force closing even though i formatted the data in recovery in between roms.
I decided to return to stock and re-install a MIUI V13.0.9.0 STOCK Rom and installed via FASTBOOT, after 10 minutes of waiting it wouldn`t complete, i tried to install it twice but i was still faced with the same issue.
I started to panic a bit but then i remembered my "Failsafe" option,
the "xiaomi.eu_multi_HMK40_POCOF3_22.1.19_v13-12-fastboot" rom.
I installed this via FASTBOOT and it completed as normal and it returned my F3 back to working order.

Xiaomi.eu, since we don't have Global MIUI 14 yet, and you wouldn't use a GMS-less Chinese MIUI version.
I'd go about it like this.
I download the ROM from Xiaomi.eu
I use OrangeFox Recovery: https://orangefox.download/device/alioth
I flash the ROM in Recovery.
Format data
Xiaomi.eu ROM ZIPs are now both Fastboot AND Recovery ROMs. I personally always prefer Recovery, since it's more convenient. No PC needed.

Hi,
I am a patron on the Evo-X Early release group and have just been updated to V7.6.1, i think Xiaomi.eu roms look good but it lacks all the latest extras that come with the newest "Custom Rom".

Evo-X is definitely reliable/trustable.
I think your issues may not be ROM-related, but Magisk-related. The ROM you used before, doesn't matter. What matters is your firmware. Better to not use v14 Dev Firmware, causes the fingerprint-scanner to not work. Better to simply the devs' recommended v13 firmware or your regions' latest firmware, or Global.
Apps in Magisk DenyList can force-close, if you use a Magisk Module that 'cannot be hidden'. And Google has done changes, so that Vanilla Magisk causes issues for some people now, like me. Some apps started being unavailable in Play Store (e.g. Instagram). Fix for me was to use Magisk Alpha + Zygisk + Disabled Enforce DenyList + Shamiko Magisk Module.
