Is possible?
I'm trying to use psshutxp but it seems to disable gps!!! Like if I put device in standby mode.
I need only to turn off the screen when desidered. How to?
Have you unchecked "turn off device if not used for" in power settings?
Works for me, but I use screenoff and Garmin Mobile XT.

Hey,
I've noticed no matter what settings I use for the WiFi sleep policy, it remains on and drains a bucket load of juice.
Any observations?
P.S. my bad, if there's a thread already. couldn't find it
Actually i am super glad. I like to still receive emails, new alerts, sport scores etc when phone is sleep. I would of returned the phone in a heart beat if I didnt have a data connection in sleep mode.
What setting you use.
In wi-fi,there is advance option where you can define sleep policy.

Hello,
You can adjust the WIfi option with *#0011# code on dialpad.
When entering ServiceMode, press the Menu button and select "WIFI".
Check if your WIFI Power Save Mode is turned On or Off.
Hope this help. :silly:
I have found solution for the whatsapp notification bug.
After screen lock whatsapp isnt able to receive messages as device goes into deep sleep.
There is a bug related to "POWER SAVING MODE"
SOLUTION
Long press power saving mode in notification drop down pannel
And then disable "Restrict Performance" Option.
Even though you switch off power saving mode. This option is always active. So switch it off separately.
cheers !
With Oreo, the "Keep WiFi on during sleep on / off" option has disappeared from the settings. So how does the Wifi behave once the device is idle? Does he stand alone? Does it remain constantly in operation? Does it behave "intelligently" ?
Finally, do members know why Google made the decision to remove this "Keep WiFi on during sleep on / off" setting ?

Note the heading of the option: "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep"
Then the further options: "Always", "Only when plugged in", "Never"
So if you choose "Always", it will keep the wifi on during sleep. If you choose "Never", it will switch off wifi during sleep.
Google did not make any decisions as you suggest.
Sorry if this is old news for everybody here, but I saw night mode option under developer options and said what the heck and set it to always on. I did not expect it to do much because I already set the theme to Dark in Settings and that doesn't seem to affect anything but the notification bar.
well lo and behold, a couple of apps are now dark that previously weren't even though the apps have no dark theme setting. Namely Instagram and play store. Go figure. Of course there apps that I really want to be dark -- Gmail, Settings, and hangout -- aren't. That's Google for you.
Also Google Drive and Google Photos become dark

Sure, that mode it's intended only for battery saver mode, but you can force enable it; if you use a lot the battery saver feature, you will notice that it will reset the dark mode when turned off; so if you want a convenient switch, use the app linked below; you can set a QS Switch with it.

Instagram too.

It resets only when turning on and off battery saver; but, yes, the app can easily toggle dark mode once it gets reseted, it's easily accessible in Quick Settings menu; otherwise you will have to go into developer options and enable it from there, everytime.
The following is only needed in Pie btw, Android 10 already has changed the way dark mode behaves.

It's an old bug - turn off the dark mode in messaging and it will be fine.

could you please elaborate a bit?
Do you mean we can prevent the battery saver switching from disabling the dark mode always on setting? How exactly? Thanks
Google it. After unplugging charger it returns to night mode. Without this setting in messaging it won't return.
It must be this, becouse I am using battery saver mode all the time.
