Question /problem enable camera2 api
Redmi pro 5 (note 5 global)
MIUI Global 10.3.1 stable
Android Version: 9 PKQ1.180904.001
MIUI stock rom
bootloader open / no root
I will enable camera2 api.
Im have OrangeFox 9.02 image booted in fastboot via Windows computer
With OrangeFox i have mounted partition /system
Then i edit the build.prop with vi editor in terminal and save the build.prop in folder /system.
Then reboot.
My entrys have none effect for camera2 api probe and other test apps.
camera2 probe says camera has only legacy support Level 1
my entrys for camera2 api in build.prop:
persist.camera.HAL3.enabled = 1
persist.camera.eis.enabled = 1
persist.camera.is_mode = 4
persist.camera.stats.test = 5
persist.vendor.camera.HAL3.enabled = 1
persist.vendor.camera.eis.enabled = 1
persist.vendor.camera.is_mode = 4
persist.vendor.camera.stats.test = 5
I also edit for testing the entry in build.prop:
ro.build.version.release=9 in =8
After reboot this entry relase 8, is not in settings "about my Phone" changed.
what is wrong?

First i bootet OrangeFox 9.02 "Fastboot boot recovery.img" for whyred temporary
Mount /system partition
I have only edtit build.prop with vi editor (adb Shell)
persist.vendor.camera.HAL3.enabled=1
persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1
Next Magisk installed.
Then i have rootet my Redmi Note 5 (global), Android 9 PI Stock Rom with App Magisk.
Camera2 Api is now working, also GCam App.
Actually, I didn't want to root the Redmi Note (Pro) 5
Without root camera2 Api not working.

I've tried cooking a new WM2003 ROM several times with some software add-ons selected, but when i reflash it to my SX56, its not there.

I even tried downgrading to PPC2002 first, but that didn't make a difference. Do I need to go back and add other software afterwards? If so, where can I get other software?

I managed to add the software after flashing the ROM (except the games). After I resync everything to my desktop, I'll try that one.

Is Temp Root Possible?
Will this work with a temporary root access without keeping the phone rooted? Kind of like the guide "How to enable Camera2 API persistently and keep bootloader locked"?
Perhaps execute this string between steps 9 and 10.

I did it using developer settings. Wiping gms has gave me a video calling bug, only works on some calls now.
Hi guys i know the issue is Xsharedpreferences even if you set permissions to 777 the xposed cant read the file when the app is compiled with api 28 maybe due to recent selinux changes but if you use target api 27 or below ,the xposed can hook and read preferences properly maybe backward compatibility.
Any guys get to work around this in their xposed modules?
I possible fix i know is that moving the preferences to /data/folder/prefs.xml then it can read
no, api 28 introduced a new SELinux permission
makeworldreadable or 777 is useless
one sulotion is use api 27 or lower
or set SELinux to Permissive(not recommended)
Maybe you can use other methods such as ContentProvider, or put it to sdcard?
