Need help here. My phone got stuck on encryption unsuccessful screen, factory reset did nothing. It just boot back into that screen. RUU failed, sd card failed. I could be using the wrong files. Can someone link to me the correct one for this phone? The phone still in stock condition, s-on and everything...
Since I found the solution, here it is to help whoever deserves it.
1)unlock bootloader
2)flash TWRP
3)boot into TWRP
3)change file system from EXT4 to EXT2 and then back to EXT4
3)factory reset the phone and done.

I just used the nexus toolkit 5.4 to unlockboot loader, flash CWM touch, root phone and managed to boot to recovery. In the recover i did a format/system and now i cannot boot my phone! It just gets stuck in the Google logo screen with the unlocked symbol at the bottom. Help! I cant even mount my phone to copy a ROM over to flash!
EDIT: I cant seem to mount any sdcard to the phone! OMG Please help me! Did i just wipe everything and have nothing to fall back on anymore? DO i have to send it back to samsung?
EDIT 2: Now when i press wipe/data factory reset, it gets to the formatting data part and it just gets stuck for a long time before it says "Error mounting /data!" then it goes to "Skipping format..." and goes to format my cache, sd-ext and so forth. What can i do now? Is there some advance method I can use to restore my OS? Please help me!
NEvermind i fixed it.
I just remembered i downloaded the stock Android 4.0.2 image from google. So i just used the toolkit to restore stock google image and its all back to normal. What an adrenaline rush!
Hello all, I've searched around and tried many different things to resolve my little problem. I'll try and list out all the details of what I've done and perhaps someone could help me find the error in my ways.
I've got a - VZW Droid Incredible - S-On - Unlocked. The H.boot Is 1.02.000 Radio is 2.15.10.07.07.
*History*
I started with a bootloader locked Droid that was stuck in a boot loop that started after a failed OTA update. The H.boot was lower too, I'm not sure what it was. The device would only boot into the stock recovery and factory reset wouldn't help. It just hung on the white HTC screen.
To fix that I tried to flash a variety of stock images from the SD but each time it failed with a versioning error. I assume that was due to the bootloader being locked and on an OLD h.boot After some troubleshooting I was able to issue a fastboot oem reset command and I was able to boot into the OS.
So then I began working with a factory default Droid running 2.2
Once I was in the OS I used the HTC Dev site to unlock the bootloader. That all went well. I was running Stock 2.2 with a unlocked bootloader. Next I flashed a custom recovery. copied a ROM to the SD and booted into recovery to flash CM 7.2. I began to run into problems at this point.
Then and Now when I boot into recovery (TWRP, or ClockworkMod) I'm unable to mount cache, internal SD, External Sd, nor can I toggle USB. I'm not really clear on what causes that. However because I can not mount the SD I can not flash a ROM, and my attempts to get back to a working phone have been unfruitful thus far.
I created a problem at this point when I wiped System. I ASSUMED that I could drop the stock image back onto the SD card and get back to factory but that doesn't work. Because I wiped system each time I reboot the phone I go directly into recovery.
( I really didn't think that it would mount system and wipe it because it wouldn't mount the other partitions... WRONG)
So now I have a inaccessible SD card while in recovery, a wiped system partition (and boot), and no clear way to get back to good.
I've downloaded numerous stock images, formatted two different SD cards FAT32 saved the stock image to the SD Card as PB31IMG.zip and booted to HBoot watched the progress bar load/complete then it stops and I'm left sitting at the bootloader screen. I can reboot expecting to boot into a stock system but each time I'm dropped back into recovery and recovery will tell me that I have no loaded OS, to me that means the PB31IMG didn't write to system, but IDK.
A RUU won't work because I can't boot into android.
I did extract the system.img and the boot.img from a stock image and used fastboot to write both of those partitions without error, but that didn't help either.
Does anyone have some Thoughts or advice on what to do next?
Many thanks,

Try this, reformat your sdcard fat32 with a pc. Then place only this file http://dinc.does-it.net/Stock_Images/4.08.605.15/PB31IMG.zip on the sd in no folders (Do not rename). Boot to hboot (vol down + power), it should find the file and prompt you to press vol up to install. I think your issue with the ruu before was that you were trying to flash an older version than you already have installed. If that dosent work try fastboot flashing cwm again, and see if it can mount the sd then.
Thread moved. Please post all questions here in the correct section of the forum.

You'll probably get better help in the Incredible S section. This is for just the plain olé Incredible.
My m8 is on verizon s-off running a 5.0 build. I had my phone in my pocket when I felt it vibrate then it was on the HTC splash screen. It wouldn't boot past that was able to get into recovery but was not able to restore a backup or flash a ROM off of SD card, both failed then rebooted back to splash screen automatically. I tried to RUU to stock using fastboot then that failed and now my phone won't boot on at all. Any ideas or am I SOL?

Try this:
Boot into TWRP
go to wipe
advanced
put an X in system only
hit repair and verify partition type and size
if it's zero:
Convert to ext2 right there
and then immediately go back and do ext4
same for /data and /cache
then back out and do a factory reset from main wipe page
then reboot to bootloader.. then back to recovery and side-load a ROM or flash it from your SD card.
This fixed a slightly different problem where after a ROM flash, the phone would boot back to bootloader. Truthfully, I don't know if it will solve your particular issue, but there is no harm in giving it a shot. (solution posted while hurrying to get my *ss out the door for New Year stuffs)
Wish I could get into TWRP but phone won't even boot up. I've tried every combination of power and volume up/down that I can think of still no luck. Hook it up to my PC and the computer doesn't recognize anything. I left it on the charger over night and still nothing.
Hello,
My phone worked fine and sunddenly got stucked in bootloop. I chose to do a factory reset -> phone worked again but pictures on internal storage were lost. My goal was to attempt a file recovery with linux (by mounting the ext4 partition). To do so, I needed to root my device. I first unlocked bootloader, and then installed TWRP 3.0-h815. I downloaded SuperSu v2.46, put the ZIP file in the DCIM folder, booted on TWRP an installed it -> after that, the phone never booted again.
I tried to reperform a factory reset but the outcome is the same. Would you have any advice to help me unbrick my device ?
Thank you in advance,
Jérémy
Hello everybody this morning I've encountered something very strange, I woke up and saw a unusual page on my phone that said "Your phone is encrypted" it told me to put in the passcode that is used on the lock screen to DECRYPT my data when I did so the phone without needing any time to think told me that the decrypt of the data was unsuccessful and that the only way is to factory reset
Now the thing is that I have twrp installed so the phone didn't even reboot to recovery it just rebooted and the same page appeared again telling me to input my passcode
What I've attempted to do is to flash the ruu for my device from sd but the phone doesn't see the file
I've tried to flash a different recovery as twrp was unable to mount any partition except the system partition and the SD partition
I will try to flash cm12 from twrp and see how that goes but until then does anyone have any clue of what happened with my device?
Update: twrp cannot boot the system partition either so now I guess I'm officially bricked
Update 2: Looking at bootloader it sees the ruu on the sd but skips it as it says "No image or wrong image!" under each one except 0PKVIMG.zip
Anyone?
I think you can run RUU only from pc, might be wrong tho as I've run only 1 RUU in my life
Have you tried restoring a backup of your current rom? If you don't have one you can also try one from here (read instruction tho, as you need to same cid as your phone)
Can you use the phone at all? Like go past the pin screen? In settings > security you can disable it (i think its there)
Edit: This has happened before
Hi,
it has recently happened to my mom's phone as well. I can't boot into recovery. It just boots straight to the OS and asks for the encryption key. I've tried to reload the stock recovery image, but it failed with wrong signature message. I've also tried unlocking the bootloader with my htcdev bin file, but it doesn't work anymore. I've tried the RUU that I previously used to go back to stock, but it fails with wrong signature as well. It appears the phone is completely bricked. BTW, The phone was relocked, S-On and with stock recovery.
I'm afraid this is a new ransomware, because before that happened my mom said something about message asking her to make a payment to unlock the phone... Is it possible those dbags were able to swap the certificate?
