Tutorial
How to apply OTA
Via Phone
The package "com.evenwell.OTAUpdate" has been deleted since November 2018 Update, this means, the *#*#874#*#* method, is no longer available
Prerequisites
Your charged phone
No PC & SD Card needed
Directions
1. Download the OTA zip file from this page first.
2. Go to download folder and rename the package to the corresponding zip name.
Example: B2N-322C-0-00WW-B01-update.zip
3. Place it to root directory of internal storage.
4. Open Phone App and dial *#*#874#*#* to update.
5. Wait for the update to finish and restart when prompted.
Via Recovery
Prerequisites
To update a device using a downloaded image, you will need the latest adb tool on your computer. You can get this from the Android SDK Platform-Tools package, which can be downloaded from here.
1. Ensure to modify the environment variable which includes the PATH where the adb executable can be found.
2. Ensure you've set up USB access for your device, as described in Run Apps on a Hardware Device (may have to remove hyperlink).
Download the build and flash your device
1. Ensure your device is up to date by going to Settings > About phone > System updates
2. Download the required image from the download button below.
3. With your device powered on and USB debugging enabled, execute: adb reboot recovery
If you're unable to use adb to reboot into recovery, you can alternatively use the following procedure:
A. Power off device, and insert USB to enter power off charge mode.
B. Press the Power key and Volume Up keys together for about 10 seconds.
C. Release both keys when the device vibrates.
D. After the Android screen, you should now be in Recovery Mode, indicated by the Android Warning logo and "No command".
E. Select the Recovery option from the bootloader menu and you should now be in "Recovery Mode" (confirmed by Android logo & red exclamation mark).
4. Hold the Power button and press Volume Up once, and a menu will appear:
Option 1: Via SD Card
Select the option “Apply update from SD Card” from the recovery options. Navigate to the OTA update zip and select it. Confirm installation.
Option 2: Via ADB
A. Select the option "Apply update from ADB".
B. Run the following command: adb devices and confirm your device displays "sideload".
C. Run the following command: adb sideload ota_file.zip - where "ota_file.zip" is the name of the downloaded file.
5. Once the update has finished, reboot the phone by selecting "Reboot system now".
6. For added security, you should consider disabling USB debugging when the device is not being updated.
Tutorial
How to Capture OTA Link
Requirements
1. You will first need to enable USB debugging on your Android phone.
2. Also, set up ADB and Fastboot on your PC.
3. If you have rooted your device using SuperSU or Magisk or installed TWRP recovery, then you will not be able to install the OTA update. However, the OTA notification will still be intact.
4. Make sure that the OTA update notification has arrived on your specific device. Do not download or install it just yet.
Method 1: Capture OTA Update URL using PC
1. Connect your phone to the PC using the USB cable.
2. Go to C:\adb on your PC. This is the folder where all the ADB and Fastboot binaries are present.
3. Hold the SHIFT key and right-click on an empty space inside this folder. Or type "CMD" in the Windows explorer's address bar where the adb is located.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
4. Select ‘Open Command window here’ or ‘Open PowerShell window here’ option.
5. The command-line window shall open up on your PC.
6. Enter the command to capture OTA update URL on Windows:
adb logcat > ota.txt
7. As soon as you execute this command, grab your device without disturbing the USB connection.
8. Open the system update window and start downloading the update. After 10-15 seconds, pause/cancel the download.
9. Go back to the command-line screen and press the Ctrl + C key on your keyboard.
10. Now go to C:\adb and open the ‘ota.txt‘ file.
Search (Ctrl + F) the text file for this link:
Code:
https://ota.googlezip.net/packages/ota-api/lge_phoenixsprout_phoenixlaocom/
Using these keywords, you shall be able to locate and capture OTA URL. Once you have the URL, paste in your browser’s address bar and download the file.
Rooted users can simply use a terminal emulator to capture OTA update URL. Simply install a terminal emulator (Termux) on your phone. And then use the ‘logcat > /sdcard/ota.txt‘ command to capture a full logcat of the system. Remember, only push the download button when you have executed the command. The ota.txt file will be placed on the root of your device’s storage. Note that this method only allows you to capture Android OTA URL. You wouldn’t be able to sideload the .zip file on a rooted device.
Method 2: Capture OTA Update URL using ‘Take bug report’ Option
1. First, enable ‘Developer options‘ and install Solid Explorer on your phone.
2. Go to the system updates and start downloading the new update.
3. Quickly go to ‘Settings’ -> ‘Developer options’ and tap on ‘Take bug report’.
4. When prompted, select ‘Interactive report’.
5. Finally, tap on ‘REPORT’ to capture OTA update URL of the latest firmware.
6. The feature will automatically take a capture a complete log of your system.
7. You will be able to see the progress in the persistent notification.
8. Once complete, tap on the notification to share the bug report.
9. Tap on ‘Solid Explorer’ in the share menu and save the bug report to the storage.
When the report has been saved, open the file and search the text file for this link:
Code:
https://ota.googlezip.net/packages/ota-api/lge_phoenixsprout_phoenixlaocom/
You shall easily be able to capture Android OTA update URL in the file.
If you have been able to capture OTA update URL for your Android device, then kindly share it with us through the comments. It would be nice to help each other, right? Stay tuned while we get more tips to ease out your Android experience.

I'm sorry. If it's hard brick, you need to send it to your local store for that.

Just curious. I recently bought a used/unlocked Canadian LG G7 One. On getting it i updated to latest PIE update that showed up. However the security patch in my device is Dec 2018. Any idea why this is happening?

Did you try to factory reset? Maybe you'll get the whole latest update if you try to factory reset your phone.
MARK: Android 10 has been released to the public today. Hopefully, we get this final upgrade on our device before end of this quarter (Q3 2019).

I am in the same boat! Bought the phone on eBay a few weeks ago. Dec 2018 is the lastest patch. Were you able to find a solution to this?

I tried searching for solution everywhere. I am yet to find one. There are some suggestions that re-flashing the device with a compatible firmware would help. But I am done with that kind of stuff for a long time now. I am just going to keep using it the way it is. It is something to do with being a retail unit is my guess. i don't think it is will see another update.

I also have this on my LG G7 One. December 2018 is latest update. Also, weird software version number. It's Q910UM25a - the 25a seems like a non-standard build. I have no idea how to switch it to a normal build. My phone doesn't seem to have a recovery mode - I can get the sideways robot exclaimation mark screen, but hitting power and volume up restarts the phone, it doesn't take me to another menu where I can select anything.

19th April 2018
My Chuwi Hi9 Air shipped this morning, expected delivery 12th May with free shipping.
Still b/o for me ?
Well, my order from 4/15 still on b/o as of today. Hoping for any cell connectivity since the band 4 "disappeared" from earlier announcements! I travel a lot so should be good in row.
Currently running row ROM on nvidia shield tablet but battery life has become terrible in the last few updates. At least it gets hspa+ in USA and LTE elsewhere on the planet. And the big + was never had to wait on ATT to bless an update!
Going to use this Chuwi to replace a pipo m6 pro w/custom rom Itravel with.
Let us know all about it as soon as you get it!
Edit: Now they say shipping 5/15.....maybe I should get interest on the cash I gave them 4/15.....???
Will hold tight. I have time to cancel if the first hands on reviews are terrible!

Hi! I just started looking into Chuwi products. I'm anxious to hear your review of the Hi9! I also would like to know why did you choose the Hi9 and not the Hi10?
Thank you!

Hi, I’m still running some benchmarks, I will post a review soon.
One important point to note, this is the Chuwi Hi9 Air not Hi9. Big difference!

Well, if I should ever receive mine I am glad to see they may update a few things! Ordered 4/15 still not shipped. Thanks much for your unboxing on YT. Hopefully the updates won't disable any wifi or cellular bands!

You say in the video that there will be no custom rom flashing due to A-Only, how does that correspond with the fact that A-only system.imgs are available?

Via flashtool . If you have my system installed dont try to flash stock kernel . After flash stock kernel you show very more errors and bootloop possible . My kernel is optimized for my system, on stock system you use my kernel , but you cant use on my system stock Kernel

You can use flashtool (This destroys all data on your phone-make sure to back up)
1. Download flashtool, use torrent if you can, (or you can just wait 40 minutes for normal download)
2. Install drivers (c/flashtool/drivers/driver.exe) install drivers the 2 first can't remember the names
3. Launch flashtool
4. Press xperiafirm in the top screen
5. In the left select your xa1 variant
6. Find firmware for your region
7. Download it
8. Load script
9. Click on the thunder icon top left select flashmode
10. Select your firmware
11. Press wipe (userdata and cust-reset)
12. Press flash
13. Flashtool will show you how to do rest of it
hope this will help you, maybe some of this has changed its some time since I have updated my xa1
UPDATE:
I found a detailed toturial how to do this.

Where i can find .73 version for europe? xperifirm have only .50
Report
i just installed R4 Version. when i try to open developer options, the settings app close, and it says that's stoped.
Last update of 8.1 r8 is available to download . For download click on actual link in the thread . (read thread and find new link for download )
Actually XA1 with my last rom support the same apps as Pixel XL . If you have problems with apps update in play store write to me pm . That was not system bug , but updater's bug if you use updater or if you don't do full update and you have stock system or boot etc.

Continuously "asking" "where's the UPDATE.ZIP" is NOT DONE!
Be aware, it's NOT very easy to pull the UPDATE.ZIP, and is done by persons in their free time! ( i.e. Cyber John )
If you "can't wait" for the UPDATE.ZIP, pull it yourself and post it here!
Samsung is starting a Beta-program Android 10/OneUI 2 for the S10-series. In this thread, we'll post the UPDATE.ZIP files (when available).
REMEMBER: don't install these files if you want to have a STABLE phone! As this is a BETA, it's possible the firmware isn't BUG-free!
The UPDATE.ZIP files are pulled from a GERMAN (DBT)-device; be sure your device is on the G97xFXXS3ASII build! (Radio/CP & CSC must be on ASIE) -> Link can be found HERE
The UPDATE.ZIP can be installed on devices with the following CSC's:
SM-G975F OXM multi CSC ( ACR AFG AFR ATO AUT BGL BNG BRI CAC CAM CAU CHO COO DBT DKR ECT EGY EON EUR ILO INS ITV KSA LAO LUX MID MWD MXO MYM NEE NPL ORX PAK PEO PHE PHN ROM SEB SEE SEK SKZ SLK SMP THL THR TPA TPH TTT TUN TUR XEF XEH XEO XEU XEZ XFE XME XSG XSP XTC XXV )

How to install the UPDATE.ZIP to your S10 (by @madvinegar ); YouTube-video by SStech
ADB-method:
1. Download SDK platform tools from here https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools
2. Extract them on your desktop.
3. Inside the extracted folder put the update.zip
4. Inside this folder, holding left shift, right click the mouse and select "open command prompt here". The command prompt will open.
5. Shutdown the phone.
6. Holding power+bixby+volume up buttons, enter into recovery mode.
7. Select "update via ADB". (you scroll down using the volume buttons and select using the power button).
8. Connect the phone to the PC using original samsung USB cable.
9. In the command prompt run the following command:
./adb devices
10. Wait to see that the daemon has started and that your device is found.
11. If you device is found, run the following command:
./adb sideload update.zip
The update process will start. You will see a percentage counting. First it will verify, then patch etc. Do not move the cable, disconnect the phone or power off the PC.
Once the process is completed (it takes some time) the phone will boot itself, update the apps and log into your home screen.
SD-card method:
1. Download the bin file and rename it to update.zip (by going to file options in win10 you can select to view the file extensions. This makes the renaming process much easier and safer, and avoids renaming the file to update.zip.zip)
2. Copy it to the root directory of your SDcard.
3. Shut down your phone.
4. Hold simultaneously Power+bixby+volume up buttons to get into stock recovery.
5. Using your volume keys navigate to "update via SdCard" and press power button to select it.
6. Again using volume keys navigate to the file "update.zip" and press power button to select it.
7. Update will start. Leave it till it completes. It will take some time.
8. Phone will reboot by itself and load android.

I'm aware of the fact they are the only one to come with this and 0 useful information attached, but the "Update: We reached out to Samsung and the company confirmed to us that the beta program has indeed been delayed. No new date has been provided yet." is doubtful too imho since this was posted on Samsung forums, furtherly thinking at this picture being posted more recently than the korean delay announcement.
Don't get me wrong, i'm not trying to start a riot or something, i just still think and hope they will deliver beta today at some point in Germany.
All the best!

I don't really get your reasoning on creating this thread.
You create a full readme on how to update and which devices but without the actual download and then you refrain people asking for updates. This is basically calling these questions upon yourself.
Even worse, you act like some community manager that has to handle thousands of requests day by day by your impolite responses. What did you actually expect what would happen?
Nevertheless, nice guide. Can't wait till beta releases for our devices!

Yes: was mentioned in my 1st post (1st line)
Wonder if it's to do with the whole fingerprint with screen protector issue that's going on at the minute. Maybe they want to get that in the beta and that's why it's delayed.
Wouldn't flashing the update.zip file directly via the recovery menu work? nor not trip knox? When pie beta was released last year for the note9, flashing the update file directly worked. I remember I was at the airport that time and just couldn't wait to get home to flash it so I did everything there with only a charging port available around.

Note 10 Plus has no Power Button, Probably the Bixby button is meant?
6. Odin v3.13.3 must be on ,connect cable (original) to your phone then holding VOLUME DOWN + VOLUME UP than connect cable in PC USB = enter into recovery mode.

You're saying? ? ?
You DON'T go to "recovery mode" when you're doing this (you'll enter in ODIN-mode!)
More specific: odin on, phone off, attach cable to phone, push VOLUME UP + VOLUME DOWN same time, attach cable to usb pc . Voilà!

NOTICE
When, I say WHEN, the BETA is released today, keep following in mind:
Continuously "asking" "where's the UPDATE.ZIP" is NOT DONE!
Be aware, it's NOT very easy to pull the UPDATE.ZIP, and is done by persons in their free time! ( i.e. Cyber John )
Read message #1: all instructions are there!
Not complying with above results in reporting to the Mod's!
Keep this thread CLEAN!!!
three uk devices are sold unlocked apparently, does this mean i dont need to play around with the csc to get the beta to bite??
