In most situations yes mostly in the us snapdragons but a lot of international ones are unlocked my main question is all videos of s9s I've watched when in download mode it will show rmm state prenormal and oem lock yes what does it mean if these do not show in bootloader

If these to states are not appearing in download mode bootloader info is there a chance it's naturally unlocked

if its the 960f, then yes. it should be
Exynos - Yes, just enable OEM unlock in developer options, this will wipe the phone, there are instructions to make the process less of a pain if you read the dev threads
Snapdragon - No (Other than a couple of Chinese variants)

Canadian S20 G98*W bootloader question

Do the Canadian variants of the S20 (ending with W) have an unlockable bootloader?
Can anyone with a Canadian device check if OEM Unlock is available in the Development Options?
The A505W does have an unlockable bootloader, so I was wondering..
Thanks!
Dream on, its locked. Every north american snapdragon samsung phone is locked, that a505w is an exynos so its unlocked.

I just upgraded from the s7edge which I went back to after not being able to root the s8, so I haven't really followed any of the phones after that, but will there be away to unlock the bootloader found eventually, or is this just the way it is ?

If it follows the same pattern of S8, S9, S9 and the Notes - then never.
You can always try and see if its unlockable by going into the Developer Options, check to see if OEM unlock is available. If it's there it may be unlockable.

Not to sound like a ****, but if the option was there I wouldn't be here. I just started reading into the last couple models that didn't have the oem unlock option under the developer options and I'm starting to think that the outlook isn't so good. I should have done a bit of research and maybe tried to get my carrier to grab me a phone from elsewhere and bring it in for me. Just happy I kept the s7 edge, give me something to play around with while I wait for whatever comes next I guess.
Is it possible to flash stock firmware from one of the variants that does have the oem unlock option to the phone ?

According to your device it shows oem unlock l. Which means locked. This device looks to have Knox guard mdm service. Looks to be leased. It is permanently locked until removed from Knox mdm server.

His isn't that issue. Look at his download mode info. Bootloader l. Which means locked. Any that can be unlocked display a u I believe. I had this issue on another device. It's all caused by Knox guard and buying subsidized device

Hey, did you solved it? bought SM-G986B with same problem - OEM on (L)
Hey brother have you solved that issue ? I've the same problem too, no OEM unlock option.
Hey,
It will depend on your baseband version if you have a snapdragon S20/S20+/S20U. See the thread below about how it can be done and what baseband/bootloader is required to unlock.

Question Fido Canada S22 Can't OEM Unlock. Any solution, or which alternative model to get?

Hey guys,
Haven't kept up with research on phone unlocks etc etc. I love having my phone unlocked for the true night light, youtube vanced, perma ad block across phone and other such things.
Which version of the S22 should I be going for right now to get so that I can root my phone completely? Would the Amazon Canada version work (‎SM-S901WZKEXAC)?
Here are the specs/details of my Fido S22 phone that just came in, that DOESN'T have OEM Unlock option on it, not sure if this clarifies anything!
Model : SM - S901W
Snapdragon 8 Gen 1
CPU : sm8450
Baseband : S901WVLU1AVCJ
Build Number : SP1A.210812.016.S901WVLU1AVCJ

@newuxtreme any luck with unlocking your bootloader? I have the same model from Rogers and no oem unlock option in developer settings.
Did Amazon build work?
No US or Canadian Models have an unlockable bootloader by default. Id suggest getting the gobal model
SM-S901B
the OEM lock is now hidden on the S22 and I believe on most newer samsungs as well. in my case I followed a dictation on the internet and it worked well
S22 s901u if you search oem, it comes up as oem unlocking under developer options

Could you provide more info on how you were able to oem unlock. I have SM - S901W and the oem unlock shows in setting search bar but NOT in the dev options itself. Please help
S901u same here. Shows up in search that oem unlocking in settings is in developer options, so the phone says. It is hidden and needs to be enabled so you can unlock this

Really hoping there is a solution here... I got this phone because Samsung offers oem unlocking and it would be a shame if I cant unlock the bootloader

There is no oem unlock on North American devices. The s22 wasn't capable of being flashed by token. You all are out of luck for now
The s22 cannot be bootloader unlocked. Only method was by flashing token and I don't believe te s22 was included in this.

Oem unlocking must not be removed but hidden or disabled, because if it was removed it would not show up in search and then say it's under developer options. So you must be incorrect.

@TheMadScientist is correct - Snapdragon devices are generally not bootloader unlockable.
The OEM Unlocking toggle is hidden because ro.oem_unlock_supported and sys.oem_unlock_allowed are both set to 0 at firmware build time and cannot be changed except via remote firmware update.

Question unlock bootloader? SM-S901U1

Hello is there any way to unlock bootloader on U1 ? theres no oem unlock in options ( changing date doesnt work )
phone is from us ( XAA ) version.
any tool ? any guide ?
No US models can have the bootloader unlocked as of now, i think. Since the S7 it's been nearly impossible for U.S. models to unlock, the S8 was unlocked only since an engineer leaked some data.
So if you want to root your SOL, might need to get an international unlocked version.
S22 s901u snapdragon USA search for oem in settings and this shows up as a setting in developer options. Is there a way to enable or unhide this setting? Because my phone thinks that it is there or something...

You are not entirely correct. We have unlocked bootloader on us devices. But his s22 I'm sure is to far updated to be able to do anything.

Oem unlock does not exist on us devices. And if you have even had it update one time it is not possible to do
