Help updating and fixing the wifi of a head unit - MTCD Android Head Units General

So i bought a car couple of days ago and the head unit works great except for wifi , it turns on but never finds any network , also the head unit version`s last update was in 2017,
I dont know much about head units but here is what i think can help: px3 , MTCD_WLGK_V2.58_1 , 7.1.2 Android
Any help will be very appreciated

Try to take a peek on the wifi cable connection to the motherboard.
I had a unit where the wifi ground cable was not soldered properly. The wifi range was pretty bad and connection broke after several minutes.
After resoldering it was fixed.

Car malfunction after connecting RK3188 based head unit

i got my new RK3188 based head unit 3 weeks ago (android 5.1), with CANBUS module to display varies car info in the unit and get the steering wheel controls working, last week my car displayed "Error: Transmission" (Skoda Octavia 2014), and my transmission box started to act weird (skipping gears).
First thing i did - was to remove the head unit, but the problem was still there, as my car is still under manufacturer warranty - i took it to repair shop (after installing the original head unit back), and got it back after four days - they said that the transmission computer has malfunctioned and they replaced it.
The nature of the problem (computer malfunction) and timing of it (two weeks after installing a head unit with CANBUS connectivity) got me worried - that maybe something with the head unit caused this problem.
has anyone every encountered this? can it even happen (is there any protection for such issues in the CANBUS protocol?)?
The problem with your transmission computer is completely unrelated.
Thanks!

BMW E90 Eonon GA7165a PX5 MCU Version MTCD_WWW_V2.58.1 dab interference

Hi,
I have a BMW E90 with a Eonon GA7165a PX5 userdebug 6.0.1 MXC89L with MCU Version MTCD_WWW_V2.58.1
I have the optional dab Adaptor they call V0054, it has a single USB cable out of it that plugs into the rear of the head unit and a DAB ariel that goes to the windscreen
this started back in April when I bought it maybe 50% of the stations had terrible interference and distortion on them no matter where i was whereas the remaining stations, (magic, xradio, chill.... ect were clear)
I logged it as a problem with Eonon support (which is dreadful btw) to which they told me that i needed a stronger active ariel so i left it until i got one in august,
I bought an active ariel and fitted it, and guess what exactly the same only stronger signal.
I have since discovered that the channels are only broken when the car is running and if the car isnt started every single channel is clear, and as soon as you crank the car over it distorts, and soon as you stop it, it clears back up again, below is my video of what happens, ignore the red light on the dash at the time of recording it, I needed new rear pads lol
https://youtu.be/X6GGmsABsfw
I logged it again as a problem and they this time tell me that i need a new dab adaptor and as it is beyond the 60 days warranty i will need to buy another adaptor. I can almost guarantee this isnt the case and its probbabily just interference from somewhere but i cannot eliminate it for love nor money.
any help is greatly appreciated

GPS not getting a lock?

Had a problem earlier where the head unit couldn't get a GPS lock. Occasionally I need to close and re-open the satnav application to get a position, however today it just didn't work. After a few resets and it still not working I opened up the GPS Info app and it could see satellites, however it was a bit erratic. I thought it would settle down, however it didn't. I took the video of it but I can't upload it here as video's don't seem to be allowed?
Anyway it just said 'Invalid', the date, time and speed all showed 0 and the number of satellites kept flipping from 1 to 12 with varying levels of signals (23 through 43).
I had to remove the glovebox yesterday as my wife managed to rip out my USB charging socket when trying to connect her phone (AND spilt a can of Pepsi, and she wonders why I don't like her using my car...). The GPS receiver is installed above the glovebox under the dash. Its possible I damaged the cable on re-installing the glovebox but I was pretty careful.
I'll take it apart tomorrow and have a look. Is this likely the cause or could it be something else? It seems odd that it sees a lot of satellites if the GPS receiver is not connected (i.e. cable broken).

Is it an MTCD?

Its a PX5 MTCD (says MTCE with MCU update). Its a GS (Xtrons) unit.
I took the head unit out this morning and tried a spare GSP antenna and it worked straight away.
I then took the glovebox out, removed the original GPS antenna, put the spare in there and re-routed the cable so it hopefully won't get crushed if I remove the glovebox again.
All working now. The GPS cable is quite flimsy. I can see on the original one where it is slightly flattened so it must have been this.

PX5 Heating problems when canbus adapter is plugged

Hello,
First of all sorry for my bad english.
3 years ago i bought this very head unit https://www.amazon.fr/Wekuo-Android-8-0-Lecteur-2015-2016-2017-Autoradio-Bluetooth/dp/B07GH48P59
It's running latest Hal9K Android 9 version.
Since one year back i started using less times my car but i noticed that after a while of driving the speaker would sound weirdly, some coil whine out of the speakers directly, but i never try to solve the problem...
Some months ago i could only start the car, drive 5minand then a very very lound noise from the speakers...
I changed all 4 speakers to brand new Focal.
What is the problem ?? Actually i was testing everything out of the car using a PSU , even changed the thermal compound and add computer fan to my HU...
At first i wasn't able to start the UH with PSU, then i find out because CANBUS i had to hotwire the ACC wire so the HU will start, and it did...
It runs cold as winter..... (which is perfect, and even pluged some speakers and sound is perfect)
but when i plug it back to the car it gets hot even if nothing is being used... and i mean i only plugged it to car power, even speakers were not connected..
Car battery is brand new, same as the one before, (fiat original parts), car alternator is working fine, also the problem is present with engine off or on.
I really thing this is CANBUS related, but from where ? from the can bus little red box adapter ? something else from the car itself ? ? actually this is my second HU on this car, and the old one i was able to start it with PSU without bypass ACC from CANBUS
It's a Fiat Tipo from 2016, it's original radio was the uconnect 5. Should i try to connect everything together and perform a new proxy alignment using fiat multiecuscan ?
I am getting very angry because this situation, i hate driving and not having music lol
If i can't to anything i thing i will erase the canbus from the HU and just use ACC, but i will lose canbus and steering wheel buttons as well..
PS: i sent message to the HU seller (i don't expect any answer after 3 years) because 2 years ago i chose bad MCU file and had some problems but after hal9K helped me finding the original one (i think) but i had a few bugs at the time i don't remember now, but i don't think this is the problem but if ' could find the original file i could do that aswell..
And actually i want to update to android 10 from hal9K.. but first i need to solve this problem.
Someone already had this king of problem ??
Thank you in advance.

Dasaita PX6 died

I have a Dasaita PX6 1024x600 headunit that's a little over 3 years old. It came with Android 9 and I upgraded it to Android 10 over a year ago and its been working fine up till yesterday. Yesterday I started my car and it began to boot, then abruptly turned off. It never finished booting because my phone never connected. Since then, the only response I can get from the head unit is the lights blink 3 times when I hold reset. I tried holding it longer, I tried giving it a quick press or two after the 3 blinks, but nothing happens. Nothing shows up on the display and my laptop doesn't see any USB device connected either if I try to connect it. The display backlight doesn't even come on. I tried pulling the fuse and reseatting the SOM but haven't had any luck getting this thing to work. All the wiring is fine and I'm getting 12V on B+ and also Ignition/ACC when the car is running.
Any idea how I can revive this thing or is it dead for good?
No surprise that it died after 3 years. They design them to last just past the warranty period (if lucky).
Anyway, the fact that the lights blink, "suggests" the MCU board is working at least a little bit. Would be helpful to know if the problem is SOM related or MCU related. Since we know the MCU is doing something when powered on, I would recommend maybe research some of the SOM recovery threads in the MTCD hardware forum. There is at least one thread detailing connecting the SOM to a PC with it removed from the head unit. The thread(s) you are looking for are regarding USB OTG recovery. At a minimum, you can find out if the SOM board is totally dead or just in a coma.
Maybe you can figure out if there's "signs of life" in the SOM board, that way. There are a few users here in the forums that have had success at recovering dead SOM boards.
Best of luck to you.

Thanks! I think I can safely say this thing is beyond recovery. I created the USB cable and made sure to measure the voltage, which is a perfect 5v and 3.3v using those resistors as specified. I connected it keeping in mind to move everything 2 pins over since in the pictures their PX5 was missing the first 4 pins. Nothing happens when I connect to the laptop, using usblogview i can see it doesnt even detect any device being connected. I tried shorting the two pads next to the chip to force it into MASKROM mode but no luck. Seems to be totally dead. I verified all the connections and tested with a multimeter to make sure everything was making good contact. Sucks I couldn't revive it but at least I can say I tried!
