4K 10bit video PC playback - LG G7 ThinQ Questions & Answers

Hi, I have a problem with opening on PC video recorded with G7 - 4K with HDR10 turned on. VLC stucks after first second, MPC-HC play video slowly but without colours (RAW). Maybe anyone had the same problem? Thanks

No problems with playback here using VLC Media Player. Did notice a definite spike in GPU (decode) activity when watching the video so perhaps it's the computer you're playing it back on? Perhaps the hardware might not be up to the task.

Juddery ? I'm assuming you mean jittery or stuttering.

i had some lag with 720P and had to reboot the phone it worked good fore a few mins then did it again. i havent tried 1080p but i assume it would do the same since its even more higher def.
ZERO stuttering or pausing on the current CyanogenMod 10.1 build. Just tested it with YouTube.
Can not comment on stock software as I never tried it.

cpu question

I have still been having issues with some of the playback thru my windows media center PVR and the 1080 mpeg 2. I still am getting the scrambled picture and then freezing. I have noticed that this does not occur if I have hardware accelleration turned off. I get a pretty darn good pic with just the software decoding, so I think I will leave it that way unless I want to watch a 1080P movie or something.
while trying to figure this problem out with playing the mpeg2 1080 live tv video I was researching with the "o" button. The one live tv channel that I have the most problems with is playing at 60fps while the other channels are playing at 25 to 30 fps. I think this might be the problem.
I also noticed that only two of the cpu are in use during video playback, cpu0 and cpu1. The other two are at 0%. This is the case with hardware accelleration off or on. Is this normal? Am I having hardware issues with my device. If anyone has some answers, I am much appreciated!

I experience the same thing. Videos are jerky, and after a while the video pauses and the sound continues to play. This is a problem that many users are complaining about on google play store. Don't blame your device, it is just the youtube player acting up. Hopefully they will fix it soon.
Youtube doesnt work at all on cm, so I just use Viral Pro (Youtube Player) instead. It takes a bit getting used to, but it is the better app IMO.

Video playback (youtube/plex) etc.

I have been having this problem on a few video playback apps. While watching a video the video freezes but the sound continues to play. fast forwarding gets it going again but happens again soon after. its mainly on apps thay stream videk. tested on both lte and wifi

No problems here. I also have flash player archived version installed for playing online video through the web browser: http://download.macromedia.com/pub/...roid/11.1.115.81/install_flash_player_ics.apk.
Do you have GPU 2D Rendering Checked in Developer Options? If so, uncheck that because it causes video choppiness. Other than that, not sure what to tell you except factory reset your device.

Question 4k 60fps videos shot on Oneplus can't be played.

Playing back videos shot on old phone results in stutter, tried VLC and native player. Even several low end phones can playback this fine. What might be the problem?
