Does the latest official android version go by the firmware? - Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 Questions & Answers

The latest stable firmware version is 8.0 and the latest weekly is 9.0, does that mean 8.0 is still the latest official android version?

Weekly is developer version, 8.0 is stable. They both are official. One is with less bugs maybe bugfree

How do I find out which Android version a PA ROM is based on?

N00b here, looking at rooting my N4 with PA. I can see the latest slew of PA releases are marked as v4.5, which I assume is PA's own version release number. Where can I find out which version of Android they're based on, though? Do the betas differ in Android version number from the last stable release, too?
We are always on the latest Android version. We are actually on PA version 4.6.
We have been on Android version 4.4.4 since it was released. We do not change Android versions until Google does.

HydrogenOS 5T (Android Nougat)

Can someone link the HydrogenOS Stock Rom which was the last (final) stable version of Android Nougat.
I have kind of searched everywhere and can't seem to find it. The official website is only providing the latest Downloads 8.1 (Stable), 9.0 (Beta).
Any help would be highly appreciated.

Xiaomi Firmware

I have revolution OS 10, which seems to have firmware 8.12.6 (shows stable in the settings on the phone), but this doesnt appear to be a stable release but a weekly release according to the firmware downloads site.
If i upgrade the firmware can i go from weekly to stable as I was going to upgrade to the latest stable on there which is 10.3.1.0
looking at this some more - can i flash new android firmware? can i flash 9.0 firmware on my 8.1 android phone? - this being the latest stable V11.0.3.0.PEIMIXM
