[ROM][2017-10-22][UNOFFICIAL] XenonHD ROM for Mix 2 (Chiron) [7.1.2]

XenonHD ROM for Xiaomi Mi Mix 2
A Team Horizon ROM
Based on AOSP r36 7.1.2
This ROM has all the features XenonHD has to offer.
All hardware functions including:
NFC
Bluetooth Audio
Fingerprint Scanner
Doze & Wake-up Gestures (dtw works after the first reboot)
And...many more things.
Magisk is no longer built in, so you'll need to flash it when first installing, and after every dirty flash.
VoLTE doesn't work (at least on T-Mobile). I believe most of the pieces are in place, but there may be something in the firmware that's preventing it? If I could figure out how to tap into the stock cust files, I might be able to figure out how to get it working.
Proximity Sensor is working:
Notification Light:
I have slowed down the notification light so it isn't all amped up. To make it completely usable, go to:
Fixed default notification blinks for built-in apps so they are slowed down without needing to go to settings.
For use-installed apps, add them to custom notification list in settings > notifications > gear icon > notification light > + in upper right corner > select app. Apps added to that list will have slow notification blinks.
I simply cannot find a way to make user-installed app notifications behave the same as built-in apps. Grrr!!
I have also made the light sensor wait longer before dimming the screen. This helps with left-handed activities blocking the light sensor and almost immediately dimming the screen.
Reduced time to go back from dim to bright. Screen will dim after 5 seconds, returns to bright after 2 seconds.
I've remove configpanel & pocketmode...they did little to nothing, and may have caused more battery drain than I care for.
Required prior to installing:

A quirk with this TWRP: This one looks for backups in TWRP/BACKUPS/MIX_2 folder. Normally, the MIX_2 folder is named after serial number of your device.
So, you existing backups won't be found until you rename the folder in BACKUPS to MIX_2.

Dirty flash is now available with the above TWRP and 10-26-2017 rom.

From TWRP Recovery:
IF COMING FROM MIUI-BASED ROM: FULL WIPE AND FORMAT DATA!!
If you encounter ERROR 7, during XenonHD install, install Global MIUI ROM, then do full wipe and data format again, then install XenonHD rom.
If coming from AOSP-based ROM:
- Full wipe (Cache, Davlik/ART Cache, System & Data)
- Flash ROM zip
- Flash Gapps zip

Is this 1st release identical to the beta?
Just curious,as I tried to dirty flash over the beta & got the same errors as if coming from another ROM (wouldn't flash).
Is a full wipe (less formatting data) necessary if updating ?
I don't mind setting up from new again,even if just updating from the beta build.
However,wondering if incremental updates are going to be an option on future builds.

Bluetooth seems to be working fine for audio/calls. Need to try video/youtube audio output on car (will do it on the drive back home)
ROM is slick, its been good so far (2 hours since i have set everything up)

Oh yeah...I need to add that to the OP, for some reason, dirty flash won't work. There's a couple weird things with this build, one is I can't make a dirty build or it breaks Wi-Fi, and can't dirty flash. I don't know the reasons, but if I figure it out, I'll be sure to let everyone here know. It's an extreme pain in the ass.

Glad everything is working for you so far. Bluetooth audio in car should work (it does on mine), but I found the volume on the car set to zero so needed to turn that up. That was a brief "oh crap" moment that I thought it wasn't working lol

I think it fails without it, but magisk is built in, so if have to remove it to find out for sure.

It seems that we both have faced this issue. I just got A2DP working yesterday on Resurrection Remix by using sagit as base - without msm-8998 common and all that -, imagine my surprise when I saw you also did .
Anyway, I think the WiFi bug may be related to something going wrong in the build. When you build the ROM, kernel sources are used and you can see that the wlan.ko module is built. The problem is, wlan.ko is also a binary blob found in vendor. I believe that on the 2nd build, if dirty, one of these modules overwrites the other - which worked. Maybe you can test this idea, I will be doing it too on the next days.

That's cool you got the Bluetooth working on RR, knocking little things out one by one ?
Thanks for the idea on the Wi-Fi, I'll look into that this evening. Maybe there's a file I can delete before dirtybuilding. That would make testing things a lot faster! ??
By the way, does android auto work on your rr?

Everything except proximity sensor works and works as good as stock. I have installed custom font, black swift substratum OMS theme without any hiccups. The rom is buttery smooth and I've been getting a better battery drain trend on this compared to resurrection/mokee. I have naptime doze installed to see if i can ooze out more battery goodness to the levels of epic Rom(miui 9)
Overall this is super encouraging to see a daily driver rom this early for mi mix 2.
There is one edge case which might be a bug, when connected on car Bluetooth and watching something on YouTube.. And then you get a call, i pressed answer on the car knobs/buttons.. I couldn't hear the person talking.. Car was displaying "audio disabled message ”. But talking/call and video/music in isolation works just fine.

Android auto works for me. I'm on RR now. Might come to this if we can get Android auto working. How did you guys fix your Bluetooth audio on RR (we can move this to the RR thread if you prefer) @Arasthel

Thanks for the info about android auto on RR. I'll take a look at their repo and see if I messed up a USB setting somehow.
As far as I'm concerned, other ROMs can be discussed here.
Open source should be crowd sourced for maximum problem resolution.
RR probably (?) Did the same as me... Mokee made a commit in qcom/audio that did the trick.

Hi... Thank you again for the wlan.ko tip. I deleted all instances of that in my out folder, dirty built and it's all good. Sped up my test time considerably! Woohoo! :good:

I haven't used rr for this phone, but I think at this point rr probably has more options. This one has quite a few, and as son as I get most of this ROM straightened out, I'll try adding more options.
I'll add some screen shots of the settings to help people decide.

Really low MIC volume

Hi there!
I don't think anyone else addressed the issue yet.
The problem occurs when I'm using any custom ROM - it's there both on Lineage and RR. (that's why I don't really know if it's the right section to post this on).
All I'm asking - is there any way to increase the mic volume, preferably systemless? Magisk's Audio Mic Fix doesn't seem to work and I don't think I want to tamper with system/etc/mixer_paths.xml by myself.

@edit: Just checked it - mixer_paths.xml in stock and in RR rom are identical

Is there any mod for the sound? I see it very low, dolby atmos exists for android 9 in magisk? try searching system / etc / mixer_pach but it does not exist!

You could try installing it through Magisk but it may not work. I use the same zip to increase the volume and have always flashed it through recovery.

Error 2 trying to flase it for recovery

i thought i was the only person who thought the sound is low on pixel xl speaker sometimes i cannot hear the phone when someone calls me especially when i am out
on my other devices sound is much louder!

most of them work ok on headphones and can help , i want to try the hifi one all of them should have options to increase the speaker volume but be carefull do a backup because the last time i installed a lot of mod vipe4andriod too and i ended on bootloop so make backup first!
i will try one of them today ( i am gonna root my phone and update you)

before it was easier to modify the mixer.pach and left over, now in android 9 the mixer.pach is in sistem / vendor / etc, and when you modify the mixer, the restart returns to the original .. el.viper I do not like anything, you hear loud, but the whasapp is heard lower, and blocking the phone you hear that sound a lot ... we're going to ****

before i was doing that
and especially on my s6 with dual speaker mod it was much better, the sound was almost perfect but there was some bass lack comparing the iphone 6

update!
I added the dual speaker mod after editing it to work on android pie installed the vipe4 android and I gained 6dbs its little bit better now(it is not game changer but its just ok!), when I plug my headphones with the jack (for know I don't have a problem with the headphone being removed before because every month I breaking 2 or more cables so my last Bluetooth earphones lasted almost 9 months (vipe4 android works on Bluetooth headphones too !

I have done everything and the dual speaker is not going, I do not like to have the icon of the mic up in the taskbar, it would be better to modify the mixer.patch, but as when I change it back to the default ... no nothing can be done ... the path of the mixer is sytem / vendor / etc and when modofica returns to the default value ... is there anything that can be done to modify it and stay recorded ???

It is not a question of that, I would settle in modifying the system / vendor / etc mixer, but in doing so it returns to its default value

I have the same problem when I am trying to add aod
for know i am thinking replacing my phone with a new one (maybee op6 -6t mi8 or in the worst case iphone (and i am sure if i get an iPhone i will sell it in a few days as always:silly
i will try to downgrade or install a custom rom and see if i can do something to edit the mix path witout restoring itself on default value!
yeah i know, sorry for my bad English i am trying to do something before i leave ( i am 16 and i am living in Cyprus )

[Magisk] Mic low volume fix - custom roms

This is a fairly simple module that increases the mic volume for custom roms. Since a couple of months, mic volume became so low (I guess it happened after flex used xiaomi's Jan blobs in los16). This module just edits mixer_path_mtp file and raises the volume a bit. I've been using it for a month and no one complains about my low volume anymore.
This is not tested and will not probably work in stock rom since I remember that mixer_path file in stock is named something else and I don't remember it.
You may send me any mixer_path file in/vendor/etc/ and I will try to do the same edits and it would work.

This is a magisk module that you should flash using magisk manager. AFAIK, Most custom roms have fixed the issue and added similar changes so I don't think this is necessary anymore.

Actually, it is necessary. I am having problems with my mic in my Samsung galaxy s6 with the unofficial resurrection remix os. Know any fix other than this? It didn't work for me, sadly.

Oh, this module is made for xiaomi mi a1 (tissot) and most probably your device will not boot or will boot with missed up sound configuration.

I have the same phone and have discovered the same problem after flashing any of the Android 11 custom ROM. No sound from speaker/ringer/media (except headphone jack). I found one suggested solution here, the last reply to the AOSPK ROM thread. The solution was to place 4 files into vendor/etc. I tried that and sure enough I got sound back with those ROMs but it broke the phone call function, couldn't make calls, dialers just ended call as soon as I tried to connect. Maybe this will work for someone else. Maybe someone else has a better solution. I'll try just replacing one file at a time and see if I can figure it out. If you find a solution let us know.

Oh and the easiest way to get back to stock is to use the Motorola Rescue assistant tool here. Just put your phone into bootloader mode and the Motorola tool will detect the phone, download the latest stock firmware and restore the phone.

The fix reported in my last post, linked to the Telegram group was:
"For sound, add these 4 files to vendor/etc"

audio_platform_info.xml
audio_platform_info_jeter_p0.xml
mixer_paths_jeter_p0.xml
"
Copying all 4 files caused audio to work but cell calling broke.
Copy only the first 2 files without 'jeter_p0' in the name and audio was fixed and nothing else broke. Happy now. I assume this will fix the same problem with all the Android 11 roms I installed that caused this problem.

I'm a n00b so I hope you can please excuse my ignorance but how did you copy the files to that folder? And how did you get the files from the source? Also does it fix the rotation? as I have a rotation problem as well

Hi, friend.
I tried your solution, but it did not work on my phone, jeter xt-1922-9, i flashed pixel experience plus or lineage os 18.1, no one working on audio. no sound incoming call, no sound on youtube video.
