Hi XDA members,
im new to this and just wanted confirmation from more experienced users. I have a LG G7 sprint variant which was recently remote unlocked via ebay to an unlocked firmware which prevents me from using it on sprint or any cdma mvno.
I contacted the seller about reverting the changes but he says its impossible. He used something called LG Octopus tool.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I think flashing the sprint firmware will fix the issue. Since it is not available for download, you have to take it to sprint ( one user experienced the same issue with sprint G7 https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg...-bootloader-root-models-t3928505/post79658233 ). btw am not using sprint variant.

I have rooted this phone, flashed TWRP Recovery and Flashed an unlock zip package which modified the baseband frequency of the phone with sprint. This modded unlock package is suppose to allow using the phone outside the USA...is for blacklisted phone of this post ONLY. But I haven't left the USA to test it yet. I return to Yucatan, Mexico in 5 days and will update this post...
If it works, contact me and I can direct you.
:good:
I hope to see if I can unlock. Any event notify them. Likewise if you manage to direct me how to do it please
Hi guys I have a practically new US Cellular g3 and would like to completely flash it to a different one or just unlock the radio and use it on Tmobile. Is there any way to do this as I have read somewhere this version has an unlocked bootloader. I dont ever plan on using the phone on US Cellular.

What is:
Your Android Version?
Your Model Number?
Software Version?
Model US990
Android 4.4.2
Baseband MPSS.DI.4.0.c2.1-00007-M8974AAAAANAZM-1
Kernel Version 3.4.0
Build KVT49L.US99010c
Software Version US9010c
I see that there is some sprint way to unlock it to Tmobile merely by changing the build.prop
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55373282&postcount=66
Do you think this would work. I really like this phone and would really like to have this functioning on my service provider. It just says Invalid Card when I put an ATT or Tmobile sim in.

It might be easier to just take it into the store and tell them you purchased it and wish to use it on your current plan. They should be able to do it for you.
Sent from XDA app via my LG G3 D851.

Yes I do
I know the EM can be rooted, but is someone working on a bootloader unlock for the other G7 models?
I got in touch with TMobile to see if their version would be bootloader unlockable. They gave me the run around, told me to contact LG who hasn't responded. One thing I did manage to get out of TMobile was a firm denial that they requested the device remain locked its likely apathy on the part of LG holding us back at this point. ?I haven't dug into mine yet because I have more interesting unlocked devices to work on
Giving that the only European models can be unlocked most likely not but maybe a bug in the future.
Have saw a AWM model which flash to EM model and get its bootloader unlocked on a second hand trading website in China. The seller said he flash the EM firmware and change the IMEI in order to unlock his phone "officially"
I'm eagerly waiting for the US unlocked G710ULM. If this variant is unlocked, why didn't LG unlocked bootloader?, it's been almost 4 months of no news from LG. .Why giving special status to unlocked European models , since LG V30? If that's the case then LG G6 US997 could be the last US model enjoying root?

if its rooted, its not a sprint device as none of the us market phones can be rooted. short answer is that you cant, even if you did flash firmware. I bet you have a 960F model which is gsm only and sprint uses cdma still for regular voice and text
I recently flashed my oneplus 7 pro to the international firmware via a link on the page a few months ago when I paid off and unlocked my phone. I am buying a used S9 from someone that was purchased from T-Mobile. I'm assuming that it will also come with T-Mobiles own flavor of software?? If so, can I do the same thing I did to my OnePlus? Any links available to help would be appreciated.

yep, but youll need the patched version of Odin that doesnt trip the process up when the model # mismatch code is thrown up by Odin itself. The failsafe inside Odin is removed in the patched version allowing it to flash firmware for different devices without regard to errors that would otherwise prevent this. Kinda like firmware rape if you really think about it.
