Hi modaca 2 questions
will you be toying with the 2.0/1 rom?
have you got Arabic text support? (not primary for viewing phones but viewing documents and websites which show square boxes)
Thanks for updating your roms
Could someone upload this please?

I will be MCR'ing the 2.1 ROM as soon as a stable release is available at HTC.
I've not done anything at all with Arabic...

+1 totally agree
This is just a beta of MCR 3.1, which will leave Beta for everyone to use as 3.0 is...
P
beta version should be available to all
Some ROM chefs have donate links, I have the option to sign up for ad-free or plus at MoDaCo. That's all.
P
Thats like saying. "If you want to test this, and give med feedback and bugs, please pay"
It's better that way than posting beta and making full ROMs members only right? :-D
Really signing up to ad-free is about getting MoDaCo ad-free and supporting me and the site, the Betas are an added bonus.
But if you don't wanna, that's cool too...

I see your side of it also, but a little strange way of doing it. I personal like donating is better, but you are the dev
Paul. You have clarified very well. Folks, please note, there is no harm in what he is saying. You have been told how to get hold of the rom and stop talking nonsensical and discuss roms ability or disability, strength, weakness etc to encourage progress.
if i had cash i would donate gladly.
i dont see it as paying for the rom, but more as rewarding the dev for his/her hard work and time spend on it (supporting)
I'd be glad if chinese support being there after 2.9....

wow, i wish i had your (and the other guys that are complaining) balls.
you get this great rom for free, paul isn't even asking for donations, and you are complaining anyway? all he does is giving some little bonus to those who support his site, the final rom will be free for all. it is not like you were promised something when you signed up, this is a BONUS feature. if you don't want to support paul and his work then don't, but shut the F**K up and go home.
also, if he would give this beta to dumbasses like you (you as in everybody who complained here), he would have to deal with you crying when something doesn't work. please stay off the premium membership.
It's not like Paul is charging us for his ROMs. If you want the BETA - pay, if you don't want to pay - wait for the final release.
Is there a blog or RSS feed or something that I could follow to get updates about future Android versions?
I know that Chrome browser has a wonderful blog that details version updates and what features are added and what bugs are fixed, does something remotely similar exist for Android?
Maybe there are people that should be followed on Google+? Twitter feeds? Other related blogs?
Having Galaxy Nexus phone I am a lot more keen to stay up to date with Android version updates that may or may not also end up on my Android devices.

Hey, you are in the most comprehensive place for updates in my opinion. I get all my Android info right here and from some other sources like android headlines and android guys etc. The guys here very rarely miss anything. If you do find something official from Google or Samsung share it
I'd be interested in something like this too. Seems like every time I have a phone that doesn't get the OTAs because it's modded, I wind up with some paranoia that I don't have the latest version of Android. Would be nice to have an app or blog or something that I can go thru and instantly read "Samsung Galaxy Nexus: Current Version 4.02" instead of having to sift thru tons of posts and replies to find out what's actually official.
I believe that if you want to know the official thing, you should check here:
http://code.google.com/android/nexus/images.html
I don't think that a 4.0.3 image will be published there before the OTA updates start to roll out... On the other hand, the updates might start to roll out and they might not publish the 4.0.3 image.
But, as said, I think here is the best place to check if anyone is getting any OTA updates.
Cheers. A little disappointed though, Google does such a wonderful job publishing version details and updates of Chrome browser. Android is such a mystery in comparison. I would always like to stay on top of things.
Think you're right. I'm pretty sure I saw a post somewhere from Jean-Baptiste Queru saying the image file would be posted only after the OTA push.

There is Android blog, but its updates are far less technical compared to Chrome blog that deals with version updates and features. Sometimes they cover some things on Android blog, but often they are focusing on less-technical matters. It covers more things that are already there rather than things under development and freshly released.
You can also follow @android on Twitter too, if you are into that.

So you want more technical.. here you go: http://developer.android.com/index.html
It's amazing what a little application of technology called "Google Search" will be able to find if you use it.

I did.
There is an abundance of technical information available for android, right down to the code itself.

I did not ask technical information about Android right down to the code itself. I already have that, I have developed for Android for more than a year.
I meant information about new version updates, problems and fixes. Something similar to what they have for Google Chrome.
4.0.2 sucks so laggy I want 4.0.3 now lol

Many people are joining xda on daily basis. Some of them join the forum to get custom ROMs while some join in order to get some of their problem that they are facing with their phones solved.
There are dedicated threads for ROMs but what about HELP/QUESTIONS??
People generally straight away start a new thread to get their doubts solved. But this can lead to chaos in the forum.
I'm creating this thread as an alternative to *New Threads* that aim to resolve a question.
Not only this, this thread can also become a Database kind of place where people can look if their question is already solved or not...
I request all members of the ASUS ZENFONE ZOOM sub-forum to help and answer some questions posted here if they can.
I hope you guys get the idea behind this thread...

Was inspecting my box of my Zoom again when I noticed the CN at the end of the model name. However my Zoom came with the WW rom out of the box (sealed). Anyone else had the same thing?
Found out another issue. Running a software version from Nov. Tried to update (via SD or internal storage) to the newest version (tried both WW and CN) but not working.
Checked some of the Zenfone 2 threads for solutions but so far haven't gotten it to work. It won't go in to recovery mode.

Seeing how there is no android development threads yet, is there possible community support for this phone going forward? Such as Cyanogenmod? Also do you think there is a possible zenfone zoom 2 in the works?

Since it's basically a Zenfone 2 with better camera, you can have a look in the Zenfone 2 forum. Some tutorials there also work for the Zoom (ZX55ML).
Don't think we will see a new model soon because the current one only was release dec 2015 / jan 2016.

Do you know if any ROMs actually work from the original zenfone 2?
From CN to WW?
Hello everyone,
i bought an Asus Zoom with CN Firmware from tradingshenzhen.com 4 weeks ago.
I installed the Google Apps and switched to German Language and Keyboard. Everything works fine and
the pics are very good.
But sometimes it loses the connection to my mobil provider Swisscom. (I live and work in Switzerland).
Is this a bug or a feature ? Is this an error from the CN firmware Version CN_V2.26.40.83 ?
I have no longer 4G or 3G.
Can i switch to the WW_V2.26.40.82 For WW SKU only ? WW means Worldwide? Or what stands WW for?
Do i have to root the device first?
Please excuse my english, it is long time ago, that i have to write complex question in an american/english forum
Thx and Greetings from Switzerland,
Steve
Hello I bought a connected watch Huwau Watch GT, but the version is in English, I call the manufacturer who confirms me that it is the Asian verrsion! Is there a way to flash it to put it in French?

Just updated to android 10 and the front facing is huge because the pixels around it are black making it extremely noticeable now. Is there any way to fix this? Also before updating I saw it said I could roll back easily but it seems there is nothing to let me do that in settings... I really hope somebody can help :good:
Thats why it is BETA. If you arnt commited to bugs, crying in the forums how to downgrade, then WHY IN THE WORLD did you apply in to the beta program???
As there is no way to mannualy update from android 9 to 10 (you brick your device) so i doubt that it is possible to downgrade.
The only thing you can do is to send a report to honor about this problem and wait untill they fix it.

Why are you rude? He just asked a question.
You can probably roll back to Android 9 via USB OTG firmware install, however this will trigger a factory reset and erase all of your data from the device.

I'm confused how you got it because the beta stopped ages ago and no one in the UK received it
Use HiSuite to revert back to Magic UI 2.1.0. Connect phone enable HDB and click on update select previous version.

Friend im not rude. But it is BETA participation software, on which you will get bugs, mishaps and apps that wont work because of incompatibilities. When you participate in this program YOU as a good Samaritan-for free, catch all of these problems, submit errors to manufacturer so they can acknowledge, fix and make final/stable version to roll out worldwide.
If you are not ready, to actively participate in the program- living with bugs and catching them. WHY JOIN THE PROGRAM?!??
'Just because' you can get newer android on the device 'faster' than everyone else? And then cry in xda about bugs and asking how to revert back... Please............
Im not picking on topics author, nor other authors that flooded this forum with cry for help after living on beta software realizing that the beta is buggy as a daily driver. Im asking for simple basic knowledge. That it is beta stage software with bugs that you are agreeing to submitting when you catch them and living with them untill huawei fixes them.
Flooding XDA - community based 3rd party forums, that isn't connected to huawei nor any other manufacturer, and asking here about beta software problems, does no one nothing good. It only supports the theory on how clueless a person was when joined the beta program and didn't read the disclaimer on what he/she accepted when taking part.

As far as I know info from huawei that there was some sort of problem when it was rolling out for UK region, dont know if it is true, but huawei stated this. (Mby because of brexit, all the legal stuff or something.)
Thats why uk users couldnt join the program when the beta registration was open.

Sorry mate but I dont know why I said "really" which made it sound like I was desperate to roll back. But I was just commenting on the issue with the front facing camera and how it said you will be able to roll back but you actually couldn't "easily". Hardly crying imo, I reported the bug on the beta app and brought it up on here wanting to know if someone had a fix and then you come here and completely overeact. Grow up.
The only solution i can think is that you connect your phone to pc/laptop to the Huawei desktop app(HWsuite) and if it prompts you for update, all is well, otherwise you chose other version and it prompts you to stock, so you follow procedures. If you don't own pc, go to store where you bought it to sent you to official service and they will help you for free, no worries
