Anyone notice that the fingerprint scanner tends to do No Match twice quickly then just want to go to the Iris scanner? The fingerprint scanner was super fast after this last update then I configured the Iris scanner and this behavior started. Or am I imagining things.
I've turned off the Iris scanner, and have no problems at all with the finger Scanner. I suggest you turn off the Iris Scanner.

I just did this and now ... blazing fast for the fp. Damn. That's a bummer.
I have both on and the fingerprint scanner on the new update is blazing fast, you don't even get to see the lockscreen so the iris scanner never comes up unless you wake the phone up with the power button instead of the home button.
The Iris scanner actually worked faster than I thought it would and I wear glasses too. I had FP and Iris turned on and Iris is certainly not needed as FP is just fast...
Yeah, the Iris scanner is pretty fast. I just noticed when the Note has the option for both that when you wake it with the home button that it tells me No Match more often that when not when the Iris scanner enabled. hmm. IDK. I guess waking it with the power button would fix that.
I use the fingerprint scanner with the home button most of the time and its blazingly fast even though I have iris scanner on as well.
I find that the iris scanner is really useful as there are times when my fingers are wet or slightly oily i can just swipe up and use the Iris scanner which works great in the night and day and I wear glasses.
I've always had trouble with the fingerprint scanner, due to my work my fingertips get quite worn so I think mine may just be that bit too faint for it to read reliably. but for me the iris scanner is the best option, I've got to the point I dont even have to try to line it up, I can just look at the phone and it unlocks instantly, my only problem with the iris scanner is it doesn't work well in strong sun light but that is probably to be expected when you are likely squinting a bit.
I'm not 100% sure if this is a bug or a hardware issue, but my fingerprint scanner is no more.
A while after I installed one of the nightly builds for my Axon 7 Mini, my fingerprint sensor would not read my fingerprint. It would vibrate and tell me that my fingerprint was incorrect, so it's aware that I was touching it.
So, I instinctively removed my fingerprints and tried re-registering them. When I get to the point where I enter my fingerprint, it won't do anything when I place my finger - no vibrations, no error messages. You guys think my scanner is as good as dead?
Any one facing finger print problem. Its saying couldn't process fingerprint. Try again later. And also problem in matching fingerprint.
top notch fingerprint
Never faced any problems with the fingerprint scanner.
80% of the time i try to use fingerprint to unlock my device my fingerprint is not recognized.
Is this a software or hardware problem and how to solve it?

This is a hardware problem, which Samsung is trying to solve as if it's a software problem. They keep tweaking it, but it will never work as should (look at all the complaints about the s10 fingerprint sensor). An ultrasonic fingerprint reader behind the screen works in ideal circumstances, but on a phone it's just terrible.
I register my fingerprint and after 5 seconds it doesn't even unlock anymore. It says it's not my fingerprint. I can understand that your fingerprint changes slightly over a couple of days (I had to do some DIY in my house and I got a couple of scratches on my fingertips), afterwards my S8+ would ALWAYS unlock, but the A70 just thinks, well hey that must be someone elses finger.
I'm using face unlock and I must say it works very quickly. I read comments everywhere about people who stopped using fingerprint on these Samsung devices. It was a nice marketing trick, but what a terrible idea.

I was on the verge of returning the phone over how poorly the sensor was working, it was as bad as 1 in 5 touches working.
I've had a huge improvement by deleting my fingerprints and setting them up again as per this guide: https://youtu.be/X9y--nHmaco
Hope this helps.

Thanks for that!! Works a treat.
Register 3 times, in the same position you will use to unlock like the @chongo_au video above
Dont folow the screen tip when registering. It is misleading
Also, emove transition effect on biometry preferences
Try also register one of the three like this: first, put yout finger on power button, and then put your finger on the scanner

What do you mean by put your finger on the power button and then on the scanner?

1. put your finger over the power button (just to position, no pressing)
2. now put down your finger to scanner
why? because lot of people, when unlocking the device, do this movement, pressing power button first, and then press the scanner almost without moving the hand, using the right side of the right thumb
It is just a tip about positioning. It worked for me.

I got some tips to solve this problem, just moisten your finger a little bit, maybe you can lick your finger and then rub it with other finger, but don't let your finger dry completely (i.e. if your registered fingerprint is your thumb, then lick your thumb a little bit and then rub the surface with your index finger) and then place your finger to the sensor as usual. Hope this work on you too! And sorry for my bad English.
a70 fingerprint recognition
I also thought that it was the sensor Until I did a reset on my phone to remove some of the clutter I put in with Smartswitch
fortunately you don't have to reset your phone
-> first remove all your fingerprints saved!
->think carefully about the part of your finger that you will place in contact with the sensor!
->place that part on the sensor first covering it completely ..no need for too much pressure !
->keep your finger in this position for 3 seconds then follow attentively the direction for positioning ..each position 3 seconds
And here you have it, I am hitting it 100% of the time with dry or sweaty fingers!
->-> bonus it works in every orientation of you fingers even upside down!!
youtube ->A70 sensor work under all orientations!
Fingerprint in Android Q for A70 fixed
I have an A70, and had the same problem as all of you are having, with the fingerprint, but I have just solved it.
What you need to do is download samfirm, and look for the firmware, from Bolivia, with this date: 21/03/2020.
Just flash this firmware from Bolivia, with this date, and your fingerprint problems will get fixed.
it works fine for me
An easier solution is to first remove all fingerprints then reboot.
Clean you phone screen. Also wash your hands too.
When boot complete re-register your fingerprint.
Since you can register three fingers in total, register the finger you will most commonly use to unlock phone two times. Make sure you change your finger position everytime you scan it
The type of screen protector you use can also affect fingerprint scanner
Matt protectors fail the scanner.
Hi All,
Just got my new Note 10 plus. She's a beaut!
There has been a lot of questions and complaints about the under screen proximity sensor, which was implemented since Galaxy S10.
Here's my question and my own answers after some testing.
Question: proximity sensor ain't working while dialing/calling. Keep having fake touches by my face.
Answer: from online comments, it seems this has been mostly resolved. How to know is it working? You will get a blinking light beside the front camera.
Question: Always On Display(AOD) does not auto turn off in pocket or laying down.
Answer: I think what's happening here is that the new implementation for under screen proximity sensor introduced a new way to actually use it, such as a new API call to turn it on and such. When they did this, all existing samung apps/functionalities or even 3rd party apps that utilize proximity sensor now gets screwed. Samsung is not retarded enough to forgot about the most important app to fix, which is the default dialer app.
However, they forgot to fix/update for other default functionalities, such as the AOD app, the pocket accidental touch app, and etc.
As of now, November, my note 10 plus has the dialer and the accidental touch working. The AOD however does not, is still bugged and does not work with the proximity sensor.
Let's pool together and submit bug reports to samsung regarding AOD and proximity sensor. And hopefully they fix it for the s10 and the note 10
