Hey folks, since one of the last updates (I suppose the Oreo one) my Z2 Play doesn't fast charge anymore, even though it still shows on the display that it is fast charging. Did or does any of you have the same problem? My model is a 4/64 monosim, branded TIM (Italian carrier), but it doesn't have any bloat apps, it's identical to the non-branded version, it just has an additional splash screen. I've already rebooted it several times (actually I do that every two days), but no sign of fast charge anymore.

Honestly, I don't think it's the charger the cause of the problem, you know..
Power off, plug in charger, after about 5-10 seconds (vibrate+percentage) it should say Turbopower at bottom of the screen.
If it doesn't, then either your port is damaged, or your AC Adapter/Charger.
Usually If it's your port the phone will boot when you plug it in.
This indicates you are receiving a charge via data connecters.

Bro just go once, don't assume that you know everything, chargers do get damaged regularly.

hey guys, I noticed a problem about the recharging time after updated LG optimus g to kitkat. now it takes really long hours to charge the phone completely, for example it needs at least 7-8 hours or even more. how can I solve this problem?
I have this problem. Anyone knows something about this?
You should try too calibrate your battery
I'd recommend to use NEMA BATTERY CALIBRATION

I also have a problem with my LG Optimus G. I have Android KitKat, software 20C, rooted phone. Yesterday my phone battery dropped to 0%. I was sick and I didn't have time to charge it. Today I plug my charger but nothing happens. LED isn't working (no red colour), there is nothing on my smartphone display. What's the problem with this smartphone, I hope he isn't bricked.

I had the same problem, turns out it was just my charger. After I bought a new one the charging time droped from 7h to 2h.
I have the same problem. I can confirm that the problem is the charger or the charging port or the usb cable socket.

im also starting to notice my phone is charging so slow, the battery icon indicates that it's filling up but sometimes the percentage wont go up, it will be stuck at 50% for couple of hours, and i have read some topics saying that This phone has really some problem burning up the charging ports, one even said that he already burned 4 chargers out of this phone is this true?

No, it's not. Just change the USB cable. If didn't help change the battery. I myself did it vice versa!

i think it's my charger, because i tried my friend's charger from his Zenfone 5 and it charged my phone for just about 2hrs or so.
mine would charge for atleast 3 to 5% and after that it will not charge anymore, i wonder what happened? I am on full stock right now fully unrooted using LG flash tool. it's really a shame that my charger gave up so soon as i have only bought this phone(Brand New) not 2 months ago.

I had exactly the same problem. I forced them to change my main board under guarantee. It didn't help. I bought a new battery. Helped but charging time was 3 hours. I saw I couldn't transfer files via USB tried changing cable and I can charge 0 to 100 in 2:10 hours. 20 mins faster than the day I bought my phone. The stock charger is OK but the cable is a crap. Do what I did from bottom to top!
I just got my G4 yesterday... I noticed that the phone turned itself on (after being switched off) upon charging. Is it normal that the phone power on by itself upon charging? Thanks
Maybe you accidelty touched it on. And didn't notice it,m
I believe I noticed this too myself. G4 completely discharged yesterday which I placed on charge switched off. After approx 30mins or so the phone had booted and was sat waiting for me to enter my SIM pin code.

Yes for me. I was charging my G4 from dead (totally run out off batt).
Once I came back to my room after roughly 2 minutes, it is turned on.
PS: im using S6 quick charger just in cause youre wondering.

Eric.. no matter what charger i am using... even from USB cable from the laptop, it will turn on the handset... so i think it is the way it is
I think that useful actually.
Some devices are just setup like that. No need for alarm.
My Asus Infinity tablet does it; regardless of the current battery level, if it's off and I plug it in, it will boot.
I have an unlocked and rooted H815 G4 (international version) for about 5 weeks now. Yesterday was the first time I let the battery drain to 0%, and when I tried to charge it it would not charge. It just shows an indication that it is charging and currently at 0% when you press the on/off button, but no matter how long you leave it charging the 0% does not change and the phone will note start up.
I have tried overnight charging, 3 different chargers (including LG cable), tried to startup with Vol down button, etc, no luck.
Any ideas?
Change your battery, that will be the cheapest fix. A new battery usually comes charged and you should be able to start the phone. Then see if you are able to charge it, if yes then the battery was the problem, if not it could be a bigger problem with the mainboard. No warranty for unlocked bootloaders. That sucks.
Edit
Try a store that has the phone on display, ask them to give you a charged battery for a few minutes to test it.

this is because the lg g4 has weak solder on the usb port, eventually it wears down, im on my 4th phone from tmobile now because of this. (no i havent been rough with the charging port on any of them.) my suggestion is to get one of those wireless charging kits to circumvent the crappy port.
I mistakenly reported I had tried the LG cable in the initial post. I had not! I tried it now and finally it worked!
How can I edit the title to add [SOLVED] ?
My H818P is freaking sensitive to USB cable quality. It simply doesn't charge if I use a crappy cable, even with the stock charger.
Which serial number do you have? (S/N number on the box)

Hey guys,
first of - sorry if this is oftopic.
I notice heavy charging issues on my g4 intl. The phone just won't charge probably.
I'm running on the latest cyanogenmod nightly, everything else works fine.
Cyanogen says "slow charging" even when I plug in the original cable, or a quick charge wallplug. With all micro USB cables everything is fine for a week or two, but after that everything repeats again.
It seems like the phone cuts down the input power to 300 milli amps or so, while "charging" the battery percentage is going down sometimes, too.
When the phone is off and plugged in, the charging is slow too.
But sometimes everything is fine for a charge or two.
Does anyone have the same issue or have a solution?
Greetings from germany
Okay I found some guys talking about this here, but is there any final solution for this?

It happens to me too, stock ROM, cm13, aosp, no difference.
I have tried changing USB cable (only cable) and device begin charging normally again.
I don't think it's something software related..
But if you have already tried with another charger and problem is still there..
I'm really frustrated. I don't know what is happening to my g4, since 2 month's I noticed heavy red screen ghosting, too. The phone was already repaired once from lg, there the problem was that it won't boot up anymore.. Next time I won't buy lg..

I got problems with display too..
Both lateral sides are brighter than the rest of the screen.
Especially with dark images it is absolutely horrible.
Will never ever buy LG anymore.
same problem here with the ghosting and the super slow charge some times battery goes down even while plugged to original charger, had a G2 before this, love the phone was almost flawless, this one I had it for almost a year now, piece of **** full of problems, now after the lates OTA the unlocking is retardedly slow, I double tap for unlocking the screen wakes up but dimmed and unresponsive and after a second it fully wakes up, I'm so frustrated with this piece of ****, the only good thing is the camera. Btw regarding the slow charging problem, I tried with different batteries and chargers and same results (I'm fully stock, no root no nothing)

No such problem here. You may try another fast charger or another USB3 cable (if possible). Usually the cable is the problem or low wattage from the power socket. Not the charger or the phone.
I've had same issues since last update, including moisture detection warnings whilst phone is plugged in. Some complaints of this on Samsung Members Forums as well. Mine is + 5G UK variant so not sure if you have same variant?
Clear system cache on boot menu.
If it was a major update ie 9 to 10, reload.
If an OS is running fast and stable, I leave it alone. I've seen updates that trashed a phone once too often.
I at least wait until it has a proven tract record.
