Grayscale font antialiasing / reducing sharpness - Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 Questions & Answers

I might be the only one (I didn't find similar complaints) but I don't like how S4 renders black text on white background. It's as if the "sharpness" setting was too high, plus I notice colorful artifacts coming from subpixel font antialiasing (for people not knowing what I'm talking about: forums.macrumors.com/attachments/screen-shot-2013-03-12-at-5-10-16-pm-png.402071/. In the past I didn't have problems with sub-pixel rendering, but the way S4 does it bothers me.
I tried changing screen modes and using custom fonts but nothing helps. After updating to Pie it's a little better but still not as nice as I get on my monitor or a phone.
So to sum up I would like to have two settings which I can't currently find anywhere:
- enabling grayscale font antialiasing
- reducing "sharpness"
The question is if the Modesty ROM or other roms have support for these settings, or they change the rendering engine?

[Q] Color Depth only 256 instead of 16m colors?

Hey
Why is it that images get displayed pretty ugly without any range of color?
I first saw this in my background image, but it's in the galery as well.
I could reproduce the "effect" in Photoshop by scaling the colors of images down to 256 without any dithering.
this is a bad joke, right?
(it happens to coincide with the pink tint issue mentioned on the board. but this actually is inexcusable.)
cheers

Colored darkness filters

I've been looking for apps that can apply filters to the color of what's being rendered on screen, I've found two apps so far. One is exclusive for samsung galaxy devices and the other is Chainfire 3D, which doesn't work on ICS. I was wondering if anyone knows of any apps or custom roms that can achieve this effect, basically make the screen even darker than usual by only displaying everything in one color. I know this is used for some OLED screens to save battery life, but it would be great for me in low light environments.
There's an app called Screen Filter but I'm not sure if you have the option to change the color.

Color tweaks (calibration)??

Would there ever happen to be a way to tweak the screen color (gains and offsets of RGB like a TV) on phones? Mind you that I really REALLY do appreciate that Samsung gives us the ability to choose color tones (set to Movie now but still a little too blue for my taste), but I tend to be a total pretentious douchebag when it comes to color quality and was wondering if there ever would be a way to tweak it.

4.3 update bad color calibration and font atialising

I couldn't find people talking about this:
The update to Android 4.3 has changed the color calibration settings and they are wrong, even in Professional Photo.
I believe the calibration was the one intended for the new 1080p screens wich have other brigthness and different colors.
The result is that skin tones look awfuly orange in many pictures, and cyan and green are horribly oversaturated. Movie mode tones things down but looks totally dull.
Font antialiasing was changed too, probably for better results on the 1080p screens, but in the Note 2's 720p, all fonts now lost fine detail and look "bold" instead of "normal" typeface. That's not due to change in system fonts, it is system wide, web pages with custom fonts, applications etc.
It is a shame because performance wise, the new version seems quite snappy.
If someone knows a mod or something to get back the 4.2 color calibration and alter the antialising settings for fonts, please tell me :good:
Try devil's kernel with trickster mod or devils tools app. The kernel has colour calibration, I prefer devils tools but trickster has more colour calibration options

Question Odd menu/settings colors in Google apps

Hey guys,
I just upgraded from my Note 10+ to a S22 Ultra. I've noticed that in Gmail and Chrome, the Settings, the URL bar are in a blue-ish color when I'm quite used to the black/grey from my Note 10+.
Does anyone know how to change this?
Screenshots added for reference
Thanks
It's the standard tinting of Material You, implemented in Android 13/OneUI 4+
You can change the color hues in the wallpaper&style section of the Home settings. If you want different colours than those generated, change your wallpaper.

Hey
So my wallpaper is literally just pure black.
Everything is setup exactly the same was as my Note 10+....the only difference I can see is my One UI is on 4.1 on my S22 Ultra.......and 4.0 on my Note 10+
Everything else seems to be exactly the same....but this damn blue/green color I seem to have on my Google apps is awful looking.
Wish I could figure out how to change it.
