Okay so this is a BIG phone and average sized hands for a 5'8 American and I have to say my cousins note 8. (Used cause it's basically exact same specs as the 7pro) just does not feel safe in to hand for everyday one handed use. I walked around her house post few days typing, using Swype and just browsing the web. Seems that I truly don't like that lark pop socket she has on her case. Clearly not worried about blocking QI charging so wondering what other options people have used and enjoyed our are using/planning to use with their OP 7pro?
I'm personally going for this.

I would like that case more if it didn't have that silly text on the back.

I thought about that but again the text makes it look cheap along with the fact of no photo reviews and the case photos look fake none with actual device in them. Also no mention of front lip being raised enough to protect the curved screen. But I did see this last night. I love poetic and slogan cases so looking for good alt to pop socket for some thing along those lines.
Been using a slim finger strap with my lg g6 lately to test but it's not quick or easy enough to actually get finger under so I don't care for it.
I use this ring. Been using the same one for a year and no issues so far.

I've been using Loopy loops on my cases since my Pixel 2XL (then 3XL and now OnePlus 7 Pro). They make a case specifically for the loops, but I figured out if you just drill holes in the back of your case, the loops work just fine. The only downsides: the phone can no longer lay flat, and the back of the case bulges a tiny amount (honestly barely noticeable) but that doesn't bug me at all, I still prefer it over a popsocket or other hard attachment.

For example this is using the factory OnePlus 7 Pro case:

It's interesting to hear a real world review of this lasting over a year. I've read so many reviews of Rings, even this one and everyone says they fall apart after a few weeks, so I never know which reviews to believe.

Yep, I had this on my Note 8, then Note 9, now my OP. Using the same adhesive too, the included 3M adhesive is insanely strong and long lasting it seems (at least when taking it off plastic cases), just don't pry it off too quick or it stretches/warps it. The hinge probably isn't as stiff as when I first got it but it still pretty good and does it's job.
I typically use it as a landscape stand. It can't really do portrait stand for any of the phones I've had because they are all big and heavy. It probably can be done but you would have to place the ring closer to the bottom or top of the phone, but then it would be awkward to use when you put a finger through to hold/grip the phone.

I'm having some real trouble deciding on a case. I've never used a clip on hard case or any body glove thing for any previous phone cause some people said they damage the phone if it gets dust. I also feel a lot more safe with something covering the screen like with a flip top or a decent leather pouch.
I'm an IT tech and do mostly call out or field work so I'm not always in a hazard free office environment. Something can knock against my pocket or I'll be under a dirty desk etc.
I can fairly easily get hold of a casemate or an otterbox. is this and a screen guard enough or should I be thinking of a leather case? I can get a PDair flip style but not sure I like it from the pics I've seen. I really like the look of the zenus style ones I've seen in a few other threads. Only thing is something like that I need to order from oversea or eBay and will take a while to get to me (I'm in south Africa)
Am I just paranoid because of the screen being left bare ?

I had the barely there case on my previous Galaxy s and bought another for my s2. I only had it a day or two and thought it did not do enough to satisfy me that my phone would be protected. The corners are pretty exposed and the screen completely so.
I bought a flip over case from ebay, unable to do a link to it but if you search for
BLACK REAL LEATHER CASE FOR SAMSUNG GALAXY S 2 II i9100 on ebay it will hopefully show you the one i am talking about.
It is extremely low profile, does not add much bulk at all to your phone but i feel totally confident now with my phone when out and about. Feel as if it could survive a drop from a decent height easily. I preferred this case to others as it only has a small magnetic catch at the top holding it shut (effectively) rather than a big catch overlapping and catching when i put it in my pocket. I am sure there must be something similar, closer to home for you. Good luck.
I got a PDair flip-it leather case and i'm pretty cool with it. I also put a screen protector and ta da my phone seems pretty much safe. Since the phone is really thin, i'm more confident when holding the phone with this case and it feels like i'm holding my ex phone HTC Touch HD, acceptable thickness for me. I'll upload some pic as soon as i charge my Touch HD, don't have any other camera around right now

If you're planning on using a case that effectively doubles the size of your handset while making a call you might as well just get a DynaTAC.
Get a flip style case with express shipping.
Zenus has diary series too. Highly recommended.
i got the official samsung leather flip and its very good IMO it doesnt add to much bulk aswell
I thought a Flip Top Case will be a perfect one to protect the device and purchased one, pricey one I should say, but now, after a week, I am bored, this thing is a PITA. Receiving the Case Mate Tough on Monday, won't use the current one anymore, damn protection

I decided to give this a try after reading your post. The company here does not have the otterbox cases in stock yet. The Pdair one is almost half the price anyways. If I really dont like it or feel I need something else then i'll get the otterbox also.
I also ordered an SGP oleo screen protector from the SGP store. Will post some pics when I recieve the case. Should take about 10 days.
Thanks for the advice guys!
I've searched high and low for a case that suited me and my Note and eventually found a very nice case from Tridea on eBay. I received a couple of days ago and think that it looks and performs great. You can find it by searching on Tridea.Essentially it's a hard bumper in a nice sort of faux suede flip case. I went for the gray version.
It's a bit pricey at £25 and it took a couple of weeks to arrive from South Korea but I've yet to see a case that looks anywhere near as good for the money.
I just bought one too! It should arrive within a week, I got the same color as you did. I'm glad you like it, because it makes me more excited to get mine
I wanted this case more than most others but my number one issue with them all is that very few have a cut out for the ear piece!! not even a notch, i want my face oils off the screen and not have to hold the flap back on a call, simple design i would think, sigh.
I love this case, I bought the grey one as well. I do wish it had a hole for the speaker though.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Hmm, the front flap does fold round the back when using it to make calls and even gives a bit more of a better grip on the phone so I'm not that bothered about it not having a notch for the earpiece.
lamou1nr: As far as a hole for the speaker goes, it's got one but I guess you meant the same as Mrglass86.
I like the case because 1) it looks good 2) it's very light 3) it offers good bumper protection with the addition of a cover for the front that also keeps the screen clean. 4) it feels really nice and solid without adding a load of bulk to the phone.
I don't see the fascination with the aluminium bumpers. They don't look as though they'd offer any protection in a drop.
I like some of the Zenus cases (it was either the Tridea or the Zenus Capsule case) but they're expensive and the diary types just seem like a bit of a gimmick - would you really keep your cash and cards in the same case as your Note? Not me!
Until otterbox or a similar maker comes up with a really tough aluminium case I'm happy to stick with the Tridea.
If you fold it too often it will eventually get loose or have lines along the edge. Another issue with all such book-like case is that we cannot use our thumb to operate the phone anymore.

Just ordered it. I hope it'll arrive sooner than expected.

Wow I dont normally like flip cases but this one looks very nice. Not sure if i'll fork out for one as i've already got cases for it but can you guys post pictures when you get it, i'll get a better idea than from the ebay pics
Just thought I'd follow up on my OP. I've been using this case for almost a couple of months. The phone gets a lot of use by me and is constantly being taken in/out of my pockets. I'm happy to say that the case is holding up well. I think that the 'spine' of the cover would be the first part to go since it's the part that gets the most stress.
After two months the fabric along the spine has been smoothed but doesn't look bad, kind of what you'd expect really, it 'weathered'. There is some very thin rubber edging that runs along the edge of the whole case and this has initially split on the spine hinge area but it has only come off in one tiny section. It's hardly noticeable.
The main thing is that it's protected my Note very well. I don't expect a huge lifespan from it (at least the cover) but the bumper around the note will last. I may utilise a bit of gaffer tape to strengthen the spine and you could do this without spoiling the aesthetic if you do it properly. I may also use some rubber spray that I bought from Amazon which is really useful stuff (it coats whatever you spray in a matt rubber coating). One last thing to mention is that some people were bothered that you couldn't get to the volume controls while the case was shut, well you can press the rocker through the spine without any problem so you can use the volume control even with the Note in your pocket. I'll update this if I notice anything further degradation but all-in-all I like this cover a lot still.
My case has also held up reasonably well. It provides great protection. I too had the rubber on the edge ware off but only on the "hinge" of the cover. The only other part that is showing signs of age is the metallic plastic piece that is on the back, it has a few scuffs and a chip. For a flip case this is one of the best.
Anyone hear of Head Case Hard Back Case's??? They are in the UK and make cases for many devices including the Galaxy Note 10.1
They are selling on Ebay with free shipping, prices are from $7.95 to $10.95 us., for that price I may take a risk on one or two,
Here are a few examples of the hard back cases, they have 100's to choose from.

I still have not, it just not a priority as I'm happy with the cases that I have now. But I am very curious of the quality myself.
.
I have bought a couple for my gf's note1 and my razr phone. The case is so so, and the sides of the case are white despite the design of the back being colored.
I Bunch of cool designs wish they have a front protector built in to protect the screen when not in use

I did order one, it took about 10 days for delivery to USA from the UK.
I got the purple one shown above, it is very thin with the bottom and top edge completely open.
The sides wrap around the front to attach the case. The design coating on the back feels tacky and less likely to slip from your hand.
The inside of the hard back is white and the right and left sides have a strip that is about 3/16 that is also white.
Did not expect much for the price, and I probably got my moneys worth.

Would you say this is decent enough protection for while it's in use, and should still be put in a sleeve or other case when tossed in a bag?
Do you happen to also have the keyboard dock? If not, does it appear to add too much thickness to be able to dock while still protected? That's my only complaint about my folio case, is having to remove it from the holder whenever I want to use the keyboard dock. I figure it's only a matter of time before the case holder snaps or something from the constant in/out

There is no screen cover or protection. You would have to use a sleeve to travel with it. I do not have a keyboard dock but it may work.
I use it when at home while playing racing games, my 360 case is just to bulky and awkward when playing these types of games. I don't have to worry about setting in down for a few minutes on a hard surface if I need to take a call or something like that. I also have a jelly case that just covers the back but this one is much thinner. It is about 3/64 of an inch thick.

I bought this Kid Series case from Poetic to give to my 5-year old niece, but I thought I would give it a test drive first! I have the yellow and green version, but the case comes in more color options. What follows is my review of this unique addition to the field of available Nexus 7 2013 cases.
This case is made up of a soft dense rubber known as EVA foam. For its size, the case is remarkably light. This is a malleable yet strong material. There is some bend to the case, but it retains its shape well. This material immediately signals that it is meant for kids. After seeing the many generic silicone “kid-friendly” cases on the market, I was impressed by the out-of-the-box design on this Poetic case. This case is unmistakably intended for a younger audiences. The bright, bold colors. The humongous soft molding. It is designed with a Fisher-Price aesthetic in mind, and it would fit right into a children’s playroom.
Speaking of play, I thought the appropriate app to try out my new case with was Real Racing 3. Making turns in the game while using this case is a joy. For any games to utilize the accelerometer, the Kid Series will add an extra level of immersion into gameplay. With the extended handles, it becomes easier to make minute adjustments while steering, making racing game much more fun and playable.
The handles come with these grip indentations, and given the material, it will not slip out of your hands. There are also markings on the bottom of the case that reduces the chances of the case sliding off a table. Finally, there are the two folding handles on the top and bottom of the cases. These handles double as the stand: fold the bottom one back and you have a sturdy stand for watching movies, or lay down the case with the top handle folded back for a comfortable typing position. With the bulk inherent in this case, the stand options are much more stable in comparison to flimsier cover stands. Finally, as I saw another forum poster suggest, you may fold both handles towards the screen to create a protective buffer should the tablet be dropped.
The charging and headphone ports are still accessible, but they are recessed deeper due to the thick nature of the case. In case you were wondering, the Nexus will not charge wirelessly with this case on. Not a surprise, but it’s not much of an issue is very easy to pop your
Given its size and aim towards kids, the Kid’s Series case is more of an attachment than an actual case. You won’t be throwing this thing in a backpack anytime soon. But it you trust a child enough with a $200+ tablet, having on the Kids Series will help keep your mind at ease. I bought this from Amazon for a real good price. It remains to be seen how exactly my niece will take to this case, but Poetic’s Kid Series case has already delighted the big kid in me.

Poetic Kid Series Case
Yeah, I agree with your perspective. It is a great product that I have never met ever. It can be a convenient ipad platform as a toy for kids to play either.
i got one myself when they were 4.95$ the only thing i dont like is it seems my nexus 7 would sorta come apart like i dunno how to explain like front and back would give a lil bit and when i took my nexus out id have to press it back together. i couldnt risk it so i got a poetic revolution case for my niece and those are pretty good and durable too. but it is great case love it i dunno if i was just taking it out wrong or something.

The Nexus 7 does have documented screen separation issues, with the body pulling apart from the screen if a case is too tight. This is something to look for in all cases, especially ones that snap on tightly to the back of the tablet.

Alternative for Nexus 7 2012
Anyone know of anything similar to this for the N7 2012? I want to give my daughter my old N7 2012, and need a good protective case. Something like this, or other rugged alternatives.
I wish they would have spent more money in the case instead of the box it came in. My thoughts after getting it.. The plastic is very flimsy and cheap and the fit is NOT snug. The case feels very slippery and loose like your either going to drop it because you cannot grip it or eventually it will slide out of the case. I'm very happy with the phone but the clear case is far from good.
My thoughts exactly for the Official OnePlus One Protective Case...which is the same as Clear Case.
See my post in the other topic.
Mine fits well but I completely agree about the not so sure grip of it.
I really love this clear case! Mine fits perfectly. No wiggle room at all. I guess I'm used to the grip as well.

I'm not a fan of the official case because it doesn't provide any protection, but I haven't experienced issues with the fit or cracking. I remember reading a post by an OPO rep on the OP forums in which he said that delays in restocking their cases were the result of further QC implementation. I'm not saying that's definitely the reason yours fell apart and mine didn't (in the two weeks I used it before receiving a Diztronic case), but I am saying that it might be.
Many other people have reported the same issue as you, so it's clear that it affected a number of people.
I own the orange official case because the clear wasn't available, so that might be a factor in which batches ours came from as well.
At this point, people shouldn't have to rely on the official cases now that the Diztronic and the Tudia are both available. Seidio is considering putting out cases for the OPO as well; you can request the Seidio case you'd prefer on their Product Request page.
I'm sure at some point in the near future we will have more choices on lots of covers. I hope we will see 3rd party custom style swap back covers too. I think I will hold off till then.
The official cases for the One look very similar to what Oppo was shipping for the Find 5's back when I got one. They also cracked at the corners and were flimsy as hell and overpriced. I'd say they just took what Oppo was doing and thought why fix what isn't broken (ie people buy them anyway)
Go with the Pelosi case. Can't go wrong with it.

I haven't noticed any indications of 'weak spots' in the polycarbonate (where it might break) and the case fits around my OnePlus One just fine, contrary to other's experiences with this case.
As for the feel of it: it's very smooth yet not slippery at all (again, contrary to other's findings).
As you can see, it is a bit scratched up because of it being moved around on a table and/or putting it in my bag, but I think that's okay. It kind of indicates it's being used and adds a bit of character.

Does it have a lip to raise the screen off a table etc? Like the diztronic?
It does, but it's not that large. Note that I also have a tempered glass screen protector installed so the glass actually sits on top now.
