Hi,
I installed the stock rom on my TIM branded G7 assuming I was losing OTAs, but I didn't know nfc payments were also lost. Until now I haven't used NFC for paying but it's possible that I will want to use it soon, could you please confirm that it's not possible to use nfc for paying in a "debranded" device? In that case, perhaps returning to TIM rom is worth it...
Thanks

hi for the NFC paying system you must go back to branded version of your software. You have to buy a no branded original lg phone to have nfc paying system without brand software
What a stupid thing with debranding

Not at the moment no, honestly probably not for a bit. Everybody's at the idea stage right now basically this may work but then again it might not but if it does then there's other obstacles in the way

No I'm aware the model numbers don't match up trust me if you search around the forums there's a thread that has this exact thing. Some guy thought that there was an official unlock for the T-Mobile variant but it turned out to be TIM mobile

People have tried it doesn't work, T-Mobile has different RSA Encryption Keys and fastboot is non existent. Everybody is trying to figure out a way to flash the European Rom to unlock the bootloader root and go back you just have to read around the forums

Your device (LMG710TMP) does not support unlocking the bootloader. Please check your model.
I tried and I recognized the correct model
Thank you very much for your information.

Hi,
I have a great opportunity to buy G7 at low price, but the model is G710ULM. I hear that this is UNLOCKED model. My questions:
1. Can it be rooted?
2. Can TWRP be flashed?
For 2. I do not care much, but I absolutely need 1. so that I can remove bloatware.

Unfortunately you can't root the g710ulm model. Maybe by unlocked they mean that it's sim unlocked.

Not yet, it's only sim unlocked not bootloader unlocked.
Btw, how likely is that the root will be available in the following months (either by an exploit or by unlocking the bootloader)?

LG ,if you are reading this, this is not fair that the previous LG flagship i.e LG G6 (LM-US997) had botloader unlock from LG itself. Why is the devices after the USA unlocked LG G6 do not have bootloader unlock? Starts from LG V30 to current LG V40 all the US unlocked really did not get support from LG? Why did they stop after LG G6? Why special status only EU variants to current models? LG, your devices are great, but if you want higher sales, just do not be region specific, bootloader unlock in all variants even on dual SIMs, it's 2019 now, put either 90, 120 or 144Hz best screens from LG DISPLAY. We don't want to feel that LG UI UX is heavy if you put high refresh rates displays that make the use of high end SOCs, just listen to your customers. Then definitely LG UX will be the best.
Well this sucks... I also have this model and would have loved LineageOS

You are reading old information, see this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g7-thinq/how-to/how-to-bootloader-unlock-g7-thinq-t-t3963568
You can cross flash with(patched LG Up (https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/how-to/guide-patch-lgup-to-unlock-features-t3652222) Europian variant and proceed (own risk).
I have flashed my Verizon unlocked version (ADB won't work) with US version and enabled ADB, FM radio etc.
Hi Folks
I have the T837T from T-Mobile. My Question is if it is possible to flash a firmware from the T835?
Also it has a Simlock, anyone knows where to unlock the device?
regards

This will sound stupid but do yourself a favor and sell it on ebay while used ones are still fetching good money and then buy an international korean model, no sim lock plus 6gb ram. I almost bought the tmobile one til i found out about the korean version.
Hi everyone, I want to order myself a LG G8 (G820UM) on AliExpress, the seller says that it is highly likely to be an AT&T version. So I'm in a very big doubt, if I will be able to get any software/firmware updates without AT&T SIM and network (I'm in Europe)...
I don't say about crossflashing, I need just to be sure if this phone will get Android 10. Soon or later, doesn't really matter.
Maybe it's better to take G7+ G710EAW, which is also great, and not bother myself so much?
You should... I got a second hand unlocked lg820um here in Honduras (Central America) and I've been getting regular updates (basically security updates) just fine
Hi,
No, unfortunately you will not be able to receive OTA updates from AT&T without having registered and active SIM card on AT&T network...
I have an AT&T LG G8 (G820UM1), I am outside of USA and cannot receive OTA updates even with AT&T SIM card in my phone.

Hi! That's cool!
Now... About updates I have no idea bud, I forced android 10 on mine with a beta ROM and now I'm stuck with it without any new future updates but mine came from Sprint, maybe you should google the final ROM for AT&T and try to force it yourself, believe me, it's worth it!

There's a surprisingly easy guide out there in google using an app called "Activity Launcher" but as you said, it only works on the Sprint model I couldn't find a guide or file for the AT&T one.
