This is a community port of Jolla's SailfishOS for the Galaxy Nexus.
It features a gesture-based user interface with a unique design and ease-of-use in mind.
For more information about SailfishOS please head over to sailfishos.org.
This is not an Android ROM, this is a different operating system.
It only uses parts of Android for hardware enablement (drivers).

Release Notes:
This release is based on SailfishOS 1.0.8.19 (Tahkalampi).
The Galaxy Nexus port is considered to be of alpha quality.
Though depending on your usage it might be stabile enough for daily use.
Bug reports:
Please issue bugreports at the Nemo Project Bugzilla.
Known issues:
Due to an issue with ofono, reading from SIM does not work. You'll need to remove your PIN lock before flashing.
Setting an ambiance (color theme & wallpaper) causes hangs. Either needs the battery to be pulled, or you can SSH into the device and run:
systemctl --user restart lipstick
The startup wizard is getting skipped for now, due to the issue above.
The Jolla Store currently does not work. As an alternative you can try Warehouse for OpenRepos.
The camera does not work.
Due to redistribution issues the codec for MP3 can't shipped. To enable the codec run the following command:
devel-su zypper in gst-av

Awesome! I'd love to check this out, as I've been following the progress in the other thread! (And because I'd actually like to check sailfish out, I never experienced Maemo and Meego so this will be an entirely new experience). However the XDA download link is unbelievably slow (Topping out at like 30 KB/s maximum on a decent internet connection). Does anyone have a download link from a service such as Google Drive/Mega/AFH? I'd be extremely thankful if someone did have a mirror, and would return the favour by uploading it. (If the OP allows for mirrors).

Mirror to my private server added.

Ubuntu 14.04 recognizes the device as a ethernet cable connection..
I've played around the USB settings and all the others are charging-only.

Alright, definitely something nobody has tested, for whatever reason. As you are using Ubuntu, a quick sshfs mount to [email protected] might do it for now.

Also, powering down the device while connected via USB to the PC, reboots it instead of shutting it down.
Can't try sshfs since i've just restored my Android backup bc Gnex is my daily driver, I'm sorry.

i couldnt select allow untrusted software to install warehouse. it does nothing when i select accept to allow it o settings.

As mentioned, the "Alpha" tag is pretty much justified. Thank you for testing.
Also, the "untrusted software" switch is pretty useless and installing 3rd party applications
is supposed to be done through the command line for now.

so i have to install cm10.1.3 maguro and install the sailfish os alpha..?
cause it been 15minute it's stuck on google boot screen.

yup correct just installed it now..

You need to install it through the terminal, I'm not sure what the command is to install rpms of the top of my head, so googling it would probably get you an answer.

well i got this...
after download the warehouse.rpm
goto setting > develoment > set password > save
type into terminal: devel-su -c harbour-warehouse
and type the password.. but nothing comes up
do i have to restart after save password or maybe restart after type pass word?? :silly:

I assume you'd need to elevate to root using devel-su, and then use one of the commands I've quoted below to install the warehouse rpm.
From terminal, root
Install a package
rpm –ivh packagename
upgrade a package
rpm –Uvh packagename
you can find out what the switches mean by doing a rpm --help from the command line.

I think -ivh would indicate installation and -uvh being the uninstall process

he's said that just copy it from /usr/lib/ . but how come even we don't have filemanager..
i'll try the pkcon install jolla-fileman (the native file manager from jolla) apprently the rpm are not there..
just maybe.. even we have the native file manager.. the missing libsailfishapp.so.1 still occur..

You could try and SSH in and run the commands, which may be easier, I'm trying to get the warehouse installed now

i made sure that no more broken bluetooth physical address,,and Fm radio works absolutely fine,,BTW its not from mtrom sites

After using almost half half of the day the rom runs smoothly no issue of heating while playing charging too...
My only issue regarding this rom is WiFi auto reconnect most of the rom I have installed has this pro..

Slm Hassan. First, thanks you for your service to this work. So, I flash this rom for 3 days. Seems very good, just some issues with modem phone, I'm in europe !. And I have difficulties with notifications sounds with apps. So many tricks and tips !, I can't get the rights sets. Anyway, version 6.0 android is hard to set it up with autorisations to notification personnal. Keep going on those stufs !. issalmik brother.

thanks for your feedback,,problem you were facing is kind of rare,,try flashing kernal swaper and modem fix from code lover,,,link is in the OP,,i hope you will solve your problem :good:

what do you mean by doesnot work??coreect procedur is oprn opengapps.com link and select arm/6.0/pico download if you download the same gapps i mentioned above,,you should not face any problem,,,,
Try factory reset,,or cleam flash rom and gapps again,,:good:

OK bth y Hassan. Thank you for your advice about kernel 'Code Lover'. I'll try later because I got a big reboot issue which it last a long time and unbelievable every things work well right away. Does it an auto cleaning rom!!. :fingers-crossed::laugh:

No bro...you have to disable auto restore and auto backup data in setting/backup and reset...

Frija is a new tool (successor of now depreciated tool SamFirm) which allows users to download latest firmware for their device which can be flashed with Odin.
Frija can download Firmware for any Samsung Devices at High Speed.
Auto mode detects any Samsung Phone Model and CSC and finds all the required information directly from Samsung Server.
Frija downloads firmware directly from Samsung FUS (Firmware Update Server) without any third party websites being involved. It can pause/resume firmware downloads, even after network interruption, or app restart (if download was interrupted).
Frija comes with built in Support form, through which you can reach out to developer about any issues or bugs. Frija has built in App Updater, whenever new release of Frija is available users will be able to update to latest version of the app.
Frija does not have any Background or Startup services, which some users might be concerned about.
It also comes with Night theme, for those who prefer Night Mode on the app

Fun fact about Frija: Frija is named after wife of Odin who can see future (In Norse Mythology) can download latest firmwares which can be flashed using Odin which uses Heimdall (A protocol that connects to a mobile device over USB) and Loke (low-level software running on the device). It kinda added a missing piece to the naming convention Samsung has.
This tool was created by wssyncmldm with contribution from CrazyApe and eragon5779. Devs receive all the support message directly and they are actively working on the app to fix any bugs or issue.

For now the software is for Windows only. As for now the developer doesn't have any plans to release the code to the public.

I have been a long time user of SamFirm, it was always the best way to get firmware as soon as it is avaialble. I really appreciate your work on this project. I tested it out for myself and it works Great! Thanks!!!

That's sad to hear. I''m not willing to setup a windows installation somewhere just to run some closed source code. Opening the source would make it possible for others to port the code to linux or at least have a look at it and audit it. Not only for security concerns but also to hunt bugs and report them. I'm really uncomfortable running closed source software from a random guy on some random internet forum.

Making source open is not going to help someone port it, since it uses 3 libraries made by Samsung to get info about download link and download the firmware which are only available for windows

I'm also a Linux user. I do have Windows on one of my partitions, but I'll have to wait for more users to report on Frija before I trust it enough to run it. With that said, I appreciate the effort and the work put into developing a useful program like that, and I hope its developers don't take my distrust as an insult.

OK when its finish the download i cannot find the zip file in the PC i choose other location and same problem

Will this trip nox or is it just a quicker way to get updates before the OTA release?

As it is downloading original, Stock Firmware, it will not trip KNOX.

It's a configuration issue on your end. I used the software and have had no issues.

I use windown 7 64b, configure the machine, intel core i3, 3320 3.3ghz, ram 8gb, and SSD for windown drive, and 4t for storage, I use the samfirm completely normal, is there any problem here ?

Its probably me not doing something right. But Frija does not recognize my phone. Does it need to be in recovery? Debug mode etc?

This tool is great I typed in my model number gm-975F then the CSC that I wanted ( I found an online list of them by googling it.) Then bam it downloaded the fw file really fast over 120mbit down. I love the tool thank you so much

That's being worked on at the moment. I can't test IMS myself, so I have to rely on someone else to test. :fingers-crossed:

Wrong Layout for QWERTZ
Hi,
the Build version 17 is just amazing. It works realy great an the Phone is a looooot smoother now with lineage on it.
The only issue that i discovered is that the German Keyboardlayout is shifted by one Key to the left that means an "G" is an "F" and so on.
I also noticed that in Version 17 you dont have the ability to Upgrade your Lineage Version as there is no Option in the System Settings
I hope somebody can help me with the Keyboard Layout.

Can you tell me what App you used to check that? Maybe i can provide some help for Troubleshooting

I found out about the FinQuertyApp it solved my problem for the qwertz layout.
If you need some help for testing purpose just ask

It seems that i cant trigger that error for me everything looks normal. The only diffrence that i noticed is that LTE/TDSCDMA as Networktype and Telekom Germany as a Provider

Are you referring to the broken setting for keyboard layout? We fixed that already and next build will be good, unless you're referring to a different issue.

I Updated today to lineage-17.1-20201116 but the issue still persist when i enable the German Keyboard Layout:

There are actually two different layers that affect the keyboard layout, and it seems like you're using FinQwerty over the top of the QWERTY kernel layout. I suggest you disable FinQwerty, and switch to the QWERTZ kernel layout.
To change the kernel layout, open the settings app (the one with the icon that looks like a gear) and navigate through 'system -> buttons -> additional buttons -> layout'. That should open a dialog with QWERTZ as one of the available settings.
Note that the location of this setting has changed since 16.0, and will likely move again to the 'languages & input' settings in the near future. Hopefully it will be happy there, and not move again!

i uninstalled FinQwerty and selected the Kernel Layout German for the Keyboard. Then i rebooted.
I have still the same error with the shifting. But i had the right layout on the FinQwerty

It's not that option. Go to Settings / System / Buttons / Additional buttons. Then choose the proper keyboard layout.

I found the Option that you mentioned. Now it works without FinQwerty.
On the Stock Rom for the Pro 1 i also just changed the Physical Keyboard Layout as the picture shows above. Thats why im wondering why its so "complicated".

i spend now many hours to root the Pro 1 with successful installed Lineage 17.1-20201214-nightly and i failed.
I sideloaded magisk v21.1 (successful) installed the Magisk manager apk v8.03
Manager shows:
Newest : N/A
Installed: N/A
Ramdisk: yes
A/B Yes
SAR Yes
Crypto File
I saw special boot.img, Stock Firmware to fix that but nothing worked.
Please someone can write a working How To ? Or add the lineage su addon for 17.1
I miss my Afwall+ ;-D

well the instructions on the lineage wiki are quite well written for a pure lineage system.
If you want gapps you need to skip the last part where it says go “Reboot system now” after OS install but need to go to "Reboot to recovery". After you get to recovery again you flash gapps. After that it is wise to boot the system if it boots . If it works, reboot to recovery and install magisk. Not rly sure how magisk 21.1 works on lineage 17.1 but i had no problems with 20.4.

sideloaded lineage, than magisk 20.4 , rebooted to lineage and installed the manager apk worked well ?

start linage magisk free, after that reboot go to recovery and install magisk 20.4

INSTALLATION
Before first install: flash and boot into the TWRP provided in this thread, format data, reboot to recovery and wipe all internal partitions, then flash the ROM, GApps and root (if needed).
Or if you are coming from Lineage 19.x, dirty flash to 20.0 is possible too: flash the new TWRP, ROM, and GApps, su addons (if needed).
Note: There is not going to be a LOS su addon anymore. If you need root, flash a root manager of your choice. No guaranteed support from LOS for this.
When updating from previous builds, simply dirty flash the ROM is enough, decryption in new TWRP works now
Recommended GApps: MindTheGapps provided in this thread.
KNOWN ISSUES
Stock camera is not working anymore due to incompatibility of stock library (libimageprocessorjni.so) with new libgui

(1) The CIP kernel includes fixes for issues and security vulnerabilities from 4.14 kernel (see https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/cip/linux-cip.git)
(2) A somehwat lengthy explanation: This option is off by default on fresh installs. When upgrading, this should be enabled because we enforced this for everybody previously. However, this option is only required for certain carrier mbns that enable IMS. Personally, I know that the O2/Telefonica Germany mbn needs this, otherwise you get a crashing modem at every boot (unless you switch to 3g before rebooting and back to LTE after boot). I generally recommend playing with this option, and if you don't need it (e.g. modem doesn't crash on boot), just keep it off - like mentioned before, this is now the default behavior of OpenCS on fresh installs anyway.
(3) This is not finalized or merged upstream is LineageOS yet, but seems like a nice feature to have and test drive already. Some bugs may be possible.

Hello, I've flashed this ROM onto my device and it works, however Wi-Fi seems to randomly disconnect for a few seconds then reconnect, sometimes doesn't reconnect at all. Tried searching for a solution but found none. It seems to disconnect when any type of location activity happens? Currently rooted but also happens without root.

I have done clean flash and I don't get any notifications or call screen on phone calls causing missed calls. No problems on wifi and mobile

Could you be more specific? I believe it's blacklisted on AT&T. It doesn't work at all on Verizon, because it has the wrong bands.
I've seen plenty of reports of it working on T-Mobile.

How does it work compared to 19.1? Any bugs?

4G calling didn't work for me.
I used carrierconfig, the LOS version with 4G calls working.
This requires root.
The carrierconfig is located at data/user_de/0/com.android.phone/file.
carrierconfig-com.android.crrierconfig-~.xml
Replace the contents without changing the numbers in the name.
Why don't you try it?

First you said it was _not_ whitelisted on T-Mobile (so presumably doesn't work) and now you say it _does_ work on T-Mobile.
