I don't have this device myself and it does looks like your device has an MT6580M Chipset.
Knowing that, you should be able to obtain some member guidance within the following thread that's specific to TWRP for the MT6580-Based Devices.

[Q] fastbooot fails when flashing a recovery.img

Hi,
I have Hongmi Redmi1 WCDMA phone, which is in a softbrick boot-loop.
I can get into fastboot , from a Windows (8) comandprompt, so that does look promissing, however...
When I flash the (correct) recovery this is my output:
fastboot -i 0x0b05 flash recovery recovery.img
sending 'recovery' (5462 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.181s]
writing 'recovery'...
FAILED (remote:
partition 'recovery' not support flash)
finished. total time: 0.189s
So the writing 'recovery' FAILED (remote: partition 'recovery' not support flash)
- It seems to me I am stuck...
- Is Fastboot the solution to my boot-loop problem?
- Should I try to get adb up and running, and then trying to push a complete ROM to the phone?
Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
k03st
After running this command fastboot devices, I get
MTK0123456789ABCDEF fastboot
Does that help?

Chinese Moto Z Play

Heys guys.
I got today my chinese moto z play from gearbest, it still has android 6 and i cant update it from the system itself, since it says the newwest version is already installed.
What is now the fastest and cleanest way to get android 7/7.1/7.11 or whatever installed? Is there any way to maybe get even original updates after that? So far im in love with the moto z but that chinese restriction sucks really.

First of all your are flashing the wrong stuff, stop before you hard brick your device.
It should be fastboot flash recovery recovery.img and you need the TWRP recovery.img.
---------- Post added at 02:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:57 PM ----------
Follow this guide to unlock your bootloader and flash TWRP, use Alberto 97 TWRP not the Chinese TWRP, after flashing TWRP use the volume button while still in fastboot mode to select and boot to recovery otherwise it will be over written by the stock recovery

That thread is for fastboot flashing firmware and I would stay away from doing that cause you'll end up in a mess.
Flash my stock TWRP flashable 7.1.1 stock rom that's whats it's for https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-z-play/development/rom-single-dual-sim-t3620551/page17
Or flash any other custom ROM and you'll see why apple sucks.

Still, im not sure how im supposed to flash now any rom with that TWRP, im not in the menue from TWRP and now what? How do i install a rom?
Also will updates be disabled when i use your rom? I just want it to be normal as possible so i dont have to do this again that soon....

Updates are working on my rom for a reason. As for no notifications sounds just flash arise sound mod as described in my opinion and the sound works fine afterwards.
I would watch some YouTube videos on how to flash ROMs using TWRP recovery, it's easy as downloading the rom and gapps if required and boot to recovery and install your flashable zips.
Your phone will not get any further updates and you will not be able to accept any OTA cause you're device is the Chinese version.
So saying that and avoiding hard bricking your device I would highly recommend you stay with TWRP flashable zips. I have said many times that sideloading firmware can be an issue on moto devices and if you read there's a hard bricked thread that is full of people who think moto devices are nexus or pixel devices which is wrong.
The bootloader on moto devices are problematic under certain circumstances , so I have warned you! I have had many moto devices and not once have I had a hard brick, I always take the root of lease resistance which is flash custom ROMs.

It hans now on formatting system, why is that so?
The zip with your rom is on my sc card, i cant copy it on the system directly, after 10% or so it stops transfering it to the device itself while its in TWRP.

Working, running now Android 7.1..1, but i cant enable my sim cards anymore? They get detected and they ask for a pin but they just wont get any network connection, tested 3 different ones none was able to get activated.

How to get root on Digma Linx Alfa 3g?

Hi to everyone!
I'm getting hard to get root on Digma Linx Alfa 3g (Android 8.1). Any of programs like kingroot, vroot, ZYKURoot and etc. fails to root this device.
Next i try to root it using twrp recovery. Then i found the twrp recovery for mt6580 (this digma linx alfa 3g uses mt6580m) (im a new user so the system prevented from posting outside links in their messages). With a help of minimal_adb_fastboot_v1.4.3 i successfully connect the device to pc, unlock it using "fastboot flashing unlock" command and upload this recovery.img to the divice useing "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" command. It returns the following:
target reported max download size of 134217728 bytes
sending 'recovery' (15940 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.546s]
writing 'recovery'...
OKAY [ 0.921s]
finished. total time: 1.471s
But when i try to went to recovery mode it shows me the same factory recovery (not twrp).
I think that this recovery images is not workable....
Does anyone know - how to root this device or where to get the correct recovery.img?
Tnx.
