No please don't upgrade, I think it will end in an hardbrick. Wait until the official update is realised and then flash the stockrom via fastboot

Okay thank you very much, I'll wait for the firmware to come out, hoping that my IMEI will come back
se você atualizar via OTA vai corromper o bootloader do seu aparelho, espere sair o oreo 8.0 e instale via RSD Lite ou fastboot.

I did the same (downgraded from first soak to 7.1.1 december) and lost my IMEI. It was restored by flashing the first soak again (and then I flashed all other soaks and finally the official OTA).
Not sure if you can recover your IMEI this way, but I'd also suggest to wait for the fastboot rom
You can actually flash the February security patch firmware without flashing gpt.bin and bootloader and then sideload official Oreo from there. If you do it right, you'll have your IMEI back and official Oreo. Just remember: DON'T FLASH GPT OR BOOTLOADER, JUST SKIP THOSE COMMANDS, if you flash them you'll probably brick your device.

i hope that oreo for our device will come along with the z play release.. or a bit later by a couple of days
With the G6 line set to launch tomorrow, we may receive Oreo soon. Motorola does publish release notes weeks before rolling out updates, so the update likely won't come out of the blue.
You can look for the release notes here

You will wait until it is released for our model. You need to go completely stock, but once you flashed pixel, unless you saved a backup of your stock, you will be better to wait.

i think it will come with oreo, at least in the soak tests..
i mean, we get a security patch every 2 months (november, january, march) and now for some reason we get april in time.. weird

They will likely do that or update without a security patch and then provide the April one after.
It will arrive between April 25th and May 7th. First in Brazil, then in other countries.
Is it true or that false promise that between April 25 and may 7
i'm pretty sure it's fake, motorola does not provide dates, how did a blog owner get this information to share with us?
also as some user said above, oreo release notes are not avaable, and they appear 1 or 2 months before the release, so...
All they care about right now is marketing the g6, they will not release oreo before the g6 is out, lame but business is business.
May is getting near, Moto's work on Oreo for G6 family, E5 family, Z family and X family is completed. So now all they have left is G5 series.
Keep looking for the May security patch release notes.
If it me mentions Oreo, then we will receive Oreo within end of May. If release notes not released or doesn't mentions Oreo, then it may arrive in June or July.
Let's see what happens.
Obviously for Lenovo, business is way more important than being honourable. I would not even consider a Lenovo device in future, regardless of how much bang for buck it presents.

I'm from Argentina but I write in English. With stock rom I don't have problems. It's only with customs. Can elementalX produce overheating? I installed it with default settings
Does your screen have burn-in problems? I have, and I'm sure my overheating problems are directly related to them.
Before, when the phone got too hot, that was the moment when I started to notice the screen burn-in problems.
Both problems are gone now: if this is your case, you got 3 options:
a- Install any app that lets you tweak the RGB colors (255 is default, I have it at 215 but it can vary)
OR
b- Install Ex Kernel and let it apply the custom RGB config at boot
OR
c- Get a ROM that has these things as a built-in feature.

@Srb_Sarkar Did this OS have issue when you tether WiFi hotspot its fluctuate frequently. When I share WiFi hotspot(Currently I am using Oreo 8.1 December patch stock ROM) from moto g4 plus to my laptop, laptop WiFi not continued it gets fluctuate within 1-3 minutes. Is that issue persisted with lineage OS 8.1?

I'm a beginner in the world of roms, I've never installed any on my moto g5 (cedric) and I intend to install it, I saw that twrp apparently doesn't get fixed on the system and it has a force encrypt file that works perfectly on android 7 but on 8.1 it doesn't work and the loop. Does anyone tell me if this file is mandatory? From what I've seen it fixes the Recovery on the moto g5.

I believe you are talking about dm_verity
If you are flashing a custom rom you don't need to worry about this
Also if you are sticking with stock rom but flash magisk to root you also don't need to worry about this
If you are not doing any of the above then there's no need to flash twrp in the first place
Just make sure you have flashed the lastet stock retail firmware if you are flashing the latest roms (android 10 custom roms and above)

Yes, I'm talking about Dm verity. And because I kind of saw in some tutorials that the moto g5 on Android 8.1 has complications in installing twrp (They say that twrp is not fixed in the system and disappears every time you restart the device) and how I really want to install the lineage but I'm a little afraid, in terms of Dm verity and the complications when installing this custom recovery. My moto g5 cedric is all right in stock rom and with the latest security patch also updated (at least the last one released by the manufacturer).
Twrp never disappears if you flash it
You have two options
Flash twrp - replaces stock recovery
Boot to twrp - temporarily load twrp but it doesn't replace stock recovery
DM-verity only applies to the stock kernel
If you flash twrp and swipe to make modifications your phone will not boot if on stock kernel
This is why you either flash magisk to root phone (patches boot image (kernel) so phone will boot
Or flash a custom rom which will have a patched kernel anyway
There would be no reason to flash twrp unless you were rooting or flashing a custom rom anyway so as mentioned before dm-verity doesn't matter

Oneplus just release MT2111_11_F.07 rom based on OOS13.
I am upgrading to it now. And I am just wondering how to extract boot.img from my phone.
I am afraid that a direct patch from Magisk after OTA before reboot may brick my phone because it's a major update. Has anyone tested it? Or already have F.07 boot.img?

After Open Beta 2 (MT2111_11_F.08) for 9RT Fastboot has been blocked by OnePlus, No more access to fastboot and recovery, while getting into fastboot Phone will boot to system directly.
Very dirty trick by OnePlus for blocking fastboot, now it has become like 10 Series, only EDL with MSM for flashing Phone both upgrading and downgrading.
Rolling back to A12 is possible, but fastboot flashing is bricking the device as fastbootd is not apearing anymore... and its A/B Partition....
