n00b question here, can we just flash the root package with TWRP on this rom or its' just a matter of changing a setting? installed ROM, so far so good. though it rebooted once when i was selecting the USB file transfer option. it froze, rebooted. but was fine 2nd time. thanks for the ROM>

Hi, a new version is notified in the update section (20 sept version) but there's no download button and it tells it can not be installed on my current version (previous from July). I've observed it went from EvolutionX_2.0 to 2.1. Does it matter ? What should I do to update ?

Just use OTA and it'll be fine.
If you experience any bug after updating you can still clean flash to fix that ?

it is not pre-rooted u have to install MAGISK or SuperSU(Latest Version)

Tnx for this rom, maybe i have find a bug, if you go in setting, app, and want select default app in my case dont work you can click on default app setting but do nothing

Im using TWRP 3.3.1. Install it, you will like this Rom. Combined with Substratum theme, it's in great.
Was a bit nervous there might be bugs and the process of backing up apps etc would be a waste of time but I stand corrected. The only bugs I have found so far is the battery estimate in status bar doesn't show up with the setting on and the text lockscreen clock doesn't change colour with the accent colour change, it stay at the default blue. Other than that this is a great rom. If I find any more bugs I will update my post. Thanks OP
Can't make it
Man, i just can't make it boot.
I wiped dalvik, cache, data, system, flashed the lastest build, flashed twrp image (didn't found the zip), reboot system (already goes back to recovery), flashed magisk and keeps on turning back to recovery.
I don't know what to do. There's a especified vendor version to run this rom?

The setting is there right after the option to select dark mode. Says something like dark style and you can choose the black/amoled option
what kind of recovery can I use? I can't give myself the error 3.3.1 works for you?

Guys you should know that you need minimum 9.6.20 vendor to use this rom, everything below gave me error 7 in pitchblack recovery and twrp

I have solution.
1.
First download orange recovery in your phone.
2.
Then install orange recovery zip file through TWRP.
3.
After installation complete then reboot your phone into recovery again
4.
Now you will see orange recovery and now install the evolution ROM.
5.
I hope you will like my suggestion.

Flash latest OFFICIAL TWRP (not with Q support), wipe system, data, vendor, cache. Install ROM (gapps are included), magisk (optional)

Weird, cause I use the same recovery and everything works fine, I even flashed again with twrp for q and everything is fine

Try flashing magisk zip. If that don't work, I'll give boot.img for you to patch and flasj

Don't do that. You'll break stuff. First update your firmware to android 11 October. Then flash
Flashing ... Coming from RR to This will tell the difference soon , BTW Is the rom rooted or i have to do that "flashing boot.img .. thing again , since it's the only way to root Android 11" and i'm willing to try it with Elementalx Kernel

I have done this earlier I flashed Proton Os ROM OVER LINEAGE OS 17.1 it was an R build too.

Proton and lineage 18 are fine to do this, as they bundle the firmware in the zip. This ROM doesn't tho. So if you are coming from 10. Then please update firmware or flash Los 18 / proton first before flashing this ROM

Official build is compiling now. Should be out in next 6-12 hours. I have uni in the morning so probably after my lectures are done
