Pull battery put it back in. Plug it in to the charger and let it sit for like half an hour the try to boot into recovery and wipe everything and flash a new rom. See if that helps.

[Q] Possible bricked wonder?

Hello,
Recently I've flashed Arco's CM9 version. It all went well for a couple of weeks until today. When I booted my phone, suddenly all apps started crashing and then it rebooted. But, the problem is, it is now stuck on a flashing Samsung logo.
Before I've started this thread, I've read many many similar threads about this, and started a 'rescue operation' by my own by using the tutorials for flashing back a stock rom with ODIN and other possibilities.
Unfortunately, after I've tried twice using ODIN, my phone is still stuck in the Samsung logo loop. I also can't enter Recovery mode, but am able to enter Download mode, as you've probably noticed.
As this is my first Android phone, I've always carefully read the tutorials and disclaimers about possible failures. I'm aware that the maker of the rom is not responsible for this.
Since I tried to flash back to stock android 2.3.6 from CM9 kernel, I've read that this could give some problems. My question is:
- Would flashing CM9 back worth a shot, or totally useless?
I hope you can help me, and if there isn't a solution, I hope the shop can cover this as I've got warranty for one year and 9 months.
Care to share how you had flashed it at first...
And you can still boot to recovery rite ?

I've read elsewhere that it was a hardware problem that appeared on 1:10 Wonders... I'm really disappointed since this was my first smartphone...
A small question though: Since I've (tried to) flash it back to stock rom, if I bring it back to the shop where I bought it, would they notice that there was another rom, which could give them a reason that I've void the warranty? I really don't want to pay another amount of cash for this (faulty) phone.
Also in reply to andynroid: I've flashed CM9 the first time with CWM, as adviced by Arco68.
Can you still go to recovery ?

The only solution seems to be to flash an Asian rom with multi package.

when you try to enter recovery mode, what is the image you first see? is there an image that look like an android? i cant remember the exactly image but if you see that image, i think you must reflash the CWM via odin. Because every time i reflash the stock rom, my recovery mode will gone. So try to reflash CWM via odin. Nothing wrong if you give it a try

I wished I could enter Recovery mode, but the problem is: I can't
. But I also didn't know that if I flash back to stock rom, the recovery would be gone too. Maybe I should reflash CWM via odin. Nice advice.

Jup. One out of ten => 10%. Such an error rate may not appear for such a great brand. That is ridiculously high. Even 1% is too high in my opinion.

Yeah, but what I've heard from others in the Netherlands: they will say that your device has been damaged by water, which isn't protected by warranty. And the bill is equal to a new device, or even more expensive. I hope they're in 'good mood', otherwise I maybe have to search for another device.
Hey Bro... this happen to me a while ago.... but covered by warranty , just simply told them at the SSC that you do an update via Kies and sxxt happen , coz in my place there are cases that the phone hang after update via Kies not only this model , it happen to others model too.
I suggest that you flash it back to stock before you send it back to SSC , without CWM .
cheers

[Q] Stuck ( Need Help Badly)

ive searched the forums and google for the past 45minutes. couldnt find a thing .
This is my problem. I was trying to install Darkside's SGSII rom for tmobile agin because i was experiening glitches and lag. i downloaded all the files except radio ( because i flashed that a month ago the first time ) i backed up every , used super wipe. then i thought if i wiped everything, the radio would too. so i took out my SD card. downloaded a radio . and put it on my SD card. tried to mount the SD card back and couldnt. Took me 20 mins untill i finally just reboot . Now i cant get back into CWM at all. the galaxy s ii boots right into the loading darkside screen. and just stalls . im not sure how to hard reset it into CWM. i tried to hold volume up , down menu while putting in the USB . it goes to odin but stalls at " downloading " .
edit : i tried using Odin from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1566613 . Nothing still
so my question is how do i get into CWM?
first, install android sdk, then plug the phone in and let it boot to wherever it gets stuck, open command prompt or terminal or whatever you use and type ddms - see if the debug manager recognizes your phone - if it does, type adb reboot recovery
if that doesnt work, pull the battery out -unplug it - put battery in, hold volume up+down and press power - keep holding down vol up+down and hopefully you will be in recovery. let me know if you still cant get in and we can try something else.
You have to flash a gb radio because you currently have an ics radio. nAndroid doesn't back up the boot loader.

I like hearing stories like this. It shows that you are also digging around while asking questions and not afraid to try out different ways to fix. That's how you'd learn right? Excellent work and I am glad you learned it the hard way (without bricking your phone). This is not to sound harsh but, you know, the first thing you should be doing is to READ everything completely BEFORE you start experimenting. Your case may be different but many people just jump and start doing things. Even experienced (I'd say I am not that experienced) people would and could make mistakes and may not know all the bugs/issues with particular roms and / or hardware. So, read first and execute later.

[Q] Bricked: No recovery mode, only download mode

My SGS2 was working all morning until I pulled it out of my pants after class today.
It was on rooted stock ics, and I have no idea how it could have bricked in the first place.
First symptom was a bootloop. Since I wasn't anywhere near a computer, I decided I would just factory reset/wipe data and cache from the recovery.
After the phone rebooted, it would not proceed further than the "SAMSUNG" screen. I could not enter recovery mode at this point.
I get home and I odin the same stock 4.0.4 ics onto the phone, as well as 4.0.3.
As of now, only download mode works. Every time I try to boot to recovery mode, it gets stuck at the "SAMSUNG" screen. Normally, the Samsung logo would have a glowing effect, but it seems to be frozen now. The animation for the battery is also frozen when it is plugged in when turned off.
Seeing as it can at least get into download mode, I am assuming there is still hope in fixing it without having to send it somewhere else?
Help is much appreciated :]
what recovery are you using?
what do u mean odin the stock ics? if your recovery isnt working, then just odin into a older recovery of cwm, here is the tar file http://www.mediafire.com/?nz97zv1g13d1tcz after that you will have your recovery back working again.
So what I did was reflash the stock kernal in hopes of unbricking my phone. Hope that clarifies things...
I just tried your method above, and it didn't work. It is still stuck on the samsung screen after rebooting. x_x
Use this link http://galaxys2root.com/category/galaxy-s2-unroot/ it well set u back to stock. Once it is done wait the 10 mintues then boot into the stock recovery and clear cashe and factory reset. After that set up ur phone then reroot it make back up then flash away. Did this a couple of days ago working fine now. Good luck!!!

biglil1, I believe method you described would fix phones most likely bricked from custom roms.
However, my phone has never use a custom rom and it is on stock already; it has only been rooted. I have tried reflashing the same stock back to my phone but I have had no luck. Again, it was working fine but suddenly bricked mid day. I wasn't trying anything super fancy that would have bricked the phone in the first place.
Someone please help, I tried looking everywhere for an answer...
Its not just for reseting from a costum rom it can be used to return ur phone back to stock like the first time u unboxed it. When plugged in do u see a box highlighted yellow? If so try it again but revert back to GB then use Kies to update to ICS. Make sure u have the latest drives. Hopefully this way well work. As long as ur phone has some type of response u can recover it. Just keep tring make sure u dont unplug untill Odin says "pass" and ur phone reboots by its self.

If you are referring to the yellow box on odin, then yes I see it. I do not think I have a connection problem; everything seems fine and I see pass on Odin. I will try to revert back to now GB and see how that goes.
I swear people need to learn what Odin is ...for god sakes it what roots your phone

Tried flashing to stock GB twice now and no luck. I will do it a couple more times just to make sure....
bump, nothing has worked so far. What should I do now?
did you flash through odin or recovery? if you did it through odin, what kind of errors are you getting? maybe your download is bad? try to download from another source.

Urgent help, stuck at google logo.

So I've kinda ****ed up.
I've been rooted for a while now and this is the first time I've broken anything. I'd just flashed a clean install of Pure Nexus 7.0 using TWRP and went back to install elemental x. I'd installed that but before rebooting decided to reflash the surround speakee mod, and this is where I **** up. "It'll be fine" I think, so I reboot, stuck in a bootloop, so I go back into TWRP and try to flash the recovery something about incorrect partition. ****. So in a last ditch effort I go back and wipe everything, now I just get stuck at the google logo. My phone sits on my desk powered of completly, any help would be much appreciated thanks.
Edit: Thanks guys, I flashed the stock image using fastboot (already had it installed anyway) and my phones back.. I'm typing this out on it. Thanks.

Chill mate, this has happened to me many times because I'm a ROM lover! Simply flash a stock img and everything will be just fine. If you're looking for an easy way then Google "Nexus toolkit" (latest version) and download it. Plug in your phone and relax. Or if your looking for a manual method then just go on to this thread! :good: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-5x/general/tutorial-flash-factory-images-unroot-t3231627

Strangely and inexplicably, this happens to me all the time, like every third boot or so(phone doesn't shut off too often). Normally, I just have to hold the power button(and sometimes vol down as well) for 20-30 seconds and the phone will reboot as usual, meaning I was actually never bricked and the boot loader is just tripping/glitching for whatever reason, probably over the encryption. If that doesn't work then before you get to the google logo(at boot splash screen) try rebooting into 'download mode', the option to enter download mode is 'hold volume down'(I think, could be 'hold vol up', it will say on screen) while booting. Go into download mode and flash the stock image with android studio. If that doesn't work(which it really should) then you're basically SOL, but I have to say it's nearly impossible to fully brick this phone. You'd literally have to be trying to brick it to make it FUBAR, so relax man. Just follow what people on here have said. You'll be back to flashing in no time.

@ the op:
Good info here!! I suggest anyone who owns a Nexus learn how to install SDK and platform tools or at the least adb and fastboot and learn to use them. It's very simple and it's one of the great things about owning a Nexus. We don't have to use other things...I'm not a fan of toolkits and whatnot because if I were to just always use them I'd never learn and I like to learn even though I'm somewhat of a slow leaner. ;p I'll slap a link up in a few with detailed instructions on how to install just adb and fastboot in 20 seconds on Windows.... Super easy!!!! One more thing If your talking about the surround sound mod that allows both speakers to play my advice is be careful many things can mess up our phones. I've seen reports of that blowing the speaker. Just saying... Brb with link to 20 sec installer..
My bad it's 15 seconds. ;p
